I have raced my buddies 350z(test pipes, X02 exhaust system, Cold Air intake, plenum spacer) maybe with 300HP while driving my 986 Boxster with 217HP. We went from 40mph - 120mph. He ended up only 2 car lengths in front of me. And he was a good driver. He got the factory 1/4 mile time of 14.3 seconds at the drags his first time at the track before he added modifications to his car. While the 986 Boxster stock 1/4 mile time was 14.6 seconds.
The 987 Boxster in this video should have done better.
Right Porsche are still far superior. Engines are more highly tuned. A 911 non turbo say the 996 which is a 3.4 litre engine so smaller than the 350z and still produces 300 bhp. Of course the 350z won this race,
I own a boxster and must say those computer generated roads look excellent to test the car. Good video.
Actually we raced this boxster against another 350Z and the outcome is slightly different, but the boxster's real strength is its high end speed and it still dominates the 350Z. We have raced the boxster against a '07 G35 Sedan (VQ35HR) and the same thing happens, as soon as 100+ is reached the boxster slowly pulls ahead. The only 350Z that can handle this boxster is the HR version. The base boxster may seems weak, but it has great performance, and the boxster S is in another league.

Agree. Those 20's are heavy. 20's are for show and looks, not racing.

Take those 20's off. You'll get better results. Z's don't need 20's.
