the structure was not fixed to the roof. in a sense, it is not a real "green roof", but rather a roof top garden. Structure was kept by its own weight, and by additional weights attached to the legs. However, good storm could probably take it down. i need to check with the owners - have not talked to them for a while.

how did you protect the roof? did you have any problems with puncturing holes?
