For people saying Hatton is finished, and washed up after 1 defeat... keep in mind he's ALWAYS gotten hit. It's not like this just started happening in the last two fights. Two of the judges had it 89-81 and one had it 88-82.
Although Hatton always likes to get stuck in he was too close to Mayweather and smothered most of his own work rather than his opponents.
Hatton applied good presure early on that made Mayweather look uncomfortable but it wasnt enough.
It was a solid performance if not dominant by Mayweather who was never realy troubled.

Luiz Collazo, Ben Tackie, and Juan Urango all held belts when Hatton defeated them. They are reputable fighters but certainly not the caliber you and I would probably consider great. Witter is a great figher man don't get me wrong, but he isn't that exciting and not very marketable. He can't huge promotions for his fights and Ricky has been a wiz at doing so.

IBO very respected rankings that everybody tends to go off!? erm not in my book, the IBO dont really enforce mandatorys i mean look at tarver and his IBO belt, its just a name to put on the promo stuff to make it a title fight

It's all BS about the "respected IBO rankings" just a bunch of excuses. Don't try to hype him up above his level. That being said Ricky deserves this homecoming, after all he is the one who revitalized British boxing as we know it.
