  • Yeah, as a Chevy owner the Ford Eco Boost was impressive but are you going to be able to change the spark plugs without removing the heads??? Ford screwed a lot of loyal truck owners when they wouldn't recall their design flaw & made the customer eat the cost.

  • these v6 eco boost motors are shit because they are putting too much boost on a 3.5l v6 and claiming that it has more towing capacity than a v8? please that v6 would blow up if it towed the same things that the dodges and chevys can tow. Ford circled their own problem. And what can you expect from a truck made in Mexico? Dodge all the way made in the USA

  • Completely irrelevent test, 3.42 gears vs 3.73, 315hp vs 365, 335 tourqe vs 420 tourqe, it would be more relevent to have the 6.2 chevy vs ecoboost with comparable gears. I am not dissing the ecoboost, I think it is a great concept. But maybe next time us an outsourced testing company

  • everybody else is going to copy fords technology and make it better. for example chevy is planning on using this technology on their new silverado. the engine comes from the concept car called caddillac ciel. it has 420ponies (twin turbo) i think its a 3.7l so yes ford introduces new technology but some one else just always makes it better. its just a matter of time

  • @Trx450rallday thats alright as long as it works idk how a 3.5l engine can haul things and still be reliable as a daily driver it should be fine but not for hauling..i think that would be a mistake if trucks started using small engines

  • gotta love turbos. i wish ford would take the 6.7l deisal powerstroke make a gas version and leave the turbos and everything. that engine would make so much power it would be crazy.

  • @fordtruckman34 already makes a shitload of torque and thats what I want in my truck.

  • Did anybody else notice that the chevy had 3.42 gears? That was the highest out of all trucks tested. That is also the highest you can get factory from gm. Of course the chevy is going to get whipped. We all know that low gears is best in this situation. Why not pick a chevy with 4.10 gears to make it just a little closer?

  • just gotta love all this properganda shit haha...i like how they make the ecoboost look so fast....when races the chevy it makes it look like the chev is sittin still.....an they think it can handle 11 000lbs like a 1 ton dually does, wat a joke....i have guys come in to the shop an i ask about their fuel mileage an they say its around 16mpg an 8mpg pull a trailer, ha my 1 ton cummins gets 26mpg an 17mpg pullin 15 000lbs

  • Chevy and Dodge suck! :) Have a good day haters!

  • Chevy 6.2 is the fastest truck made right now. That is a fact that not very many people know. Ive seen a brand new 6.2 chevy run 14.2 in the quarter. Extended cab with 3.43s

  • @Mctsep ....dodge has the v10 viper truck which is faster then the 6.2, not to argue or anything but it is a full size truck like chev's 6.2 is

  • it may be a v6 vs v8's but the v6 has twin turbo's not a fair battle

  • I see no one seem to notice the the difference in technology, SUPER HIGH TECHNOLOGY; Intelligent Variable valve timing on 4 cams, 4 valves per cylinder, DOHC, Direct Injection, Twin Turbos, high compression ratio, Low displacement vs Pushrods, 2 valves per cylinder and one cam in the center of the block V-8s. This is the critical different between the 3.5L Ecoboost and the competition V-8s. Go Ford for embracing new technologies to stay ahead of the foreign competition.

  • @jeffchadrick when i comes down to the fit and finish of the drive train, i agree. i believe in the halfton segment the Ford is superior, minus ride quality. i have driven the new 1500s and have road shotgun in the new F-150s and say the Ford doesn't touch the Dodge there. Overall though i think you are making a fine decision.

  • They've got a name for that thing there.. Mine. I'm a Dodge guy and have been for a while but this truck is impressive and will soon be in my driveway

  • @wegay247 wht u gay all da time???? quir fagget

  • Every car engine should have DI

  • @StyrofoamNoise cuz it ain't in da real world. Ford makes teh results they wants. Da Fords suck so their is no way they cud realee win

  • dodge and chevy were not broken in, while the ford was.

  • I call it mini raptor!

  • whats in the trailer to make them heavy and its so set up for the ford to win my chevy 4.8 liter has no problem towing the trailer when is empty and no problem going to 70mph and its a enclosed also and when its loaded it has no problem towing either.

    Ford is crap

  • This is rigged. In the really world Dodge would win. Nothing beats a dodge. All others are shit. I don't care what you say they have all others Fucking suck. A Dodge RAM 1500 can pull as much as all others 3500s. Thats power dag gum

  • @weisle67

wht are you some dumbass redneck child??... incest does horrible things to a person...take note youtube viewers

  • @weisle67 This video is the real world. I don't get what is so hard to understand.

  • @weisle67 Just to clarify a 3500 Ram can pull over 20,000lbs while the 1500 Ram can only handle 10,750. The Ford EcoBoost can pull 11,000+. I'm a Dodge guy too but come on you have to give credit where credit is due this is an awesome truck. And will be my next

  • But can it pull as much weight.

  • Ford 150 10 000 pound trailer . The dealer laughed by say truck is to small. We said that its a ford not a chevy cause he had a chevy . The look on his face . The truck is a beast we fill it up no problem pulls anythong we put and we put a lot of shiet. Bulit Ford Tough

  • The ecoboost has a standard Turbo. The Chevy does not. This is a battle of standards. Not of customization.

  • are they using similar rear end ratios in these trucks?

  • fuck chev

  • Ford has again made the best truck with the most option choices in trim and motors. To JMaxwell.......yes the motor is in cars but its alot differant. Its not just a car motor put in a truck with boost. Differant cams intake tunes.....I could go on and on. Same with the v8's with Ford dodge or GM. ......You think the new 5 liter or the old 4.6 was the exact same in car and truck???? Wrong bucko.. Thats goes for GM and Dodge as well.

  • now put it against the 6.2 and watch it get smoked

  • @snowyphil65 The ecoboost performs better than the 6.2.

  • @ao10s 365 hp and 420ft lbs vs 403 hp and 417 ft lbs, the ecoboost may be more efficient, but ill take the v-8 that has alot more power capability than the little ford v-6, guys have already built the 6.2 to 1000hp on the stock block

  • @snowyphil65 The Ecoboost can pull more than the 6.2

  • @ao10s in theory and numbers yes, in reality, its a lightweight truck built to save fuel

  • Ill tell you how it is Dmaxdiesel- The Davis Dam Grade is hot as hell and is high altitude combined and when you add those 2 factors the naturally aspirated trucks lose significant power. The ecoboost twin turbos and variable valve timing and extra gear in the gear box let it stomp the dodge and everything else by "making up" the lost intake charge, and the 6 speed trans in the ford has been optimized to the output better. Ford wins huge here- no contest.

  • Just wait till someone makes a tune for that truck, that f150 will be killing even Gm's 6.2liter

  • can you say rigged?? thats what this whole vid is. a ad is always rigged when the companys spokes person is hosting it lol.

  • My dad owns an ecoboosted f150 now, such a badass engine, quickest truck I have ever driven, can;t wait to see how it pulls our boat. Test drove a chevy 5.3 immidiately before and there was absolutely no comparison.

  • i dont know man when your trting to get that mutch power out of a little engine it just seems like it going to be bad

  • Lot of haters out there.....

  • who else noticed it never said that the tests were done by a 3rd party? its ford that did the test, which makes it bullshit

  • @CnRDirt Dude. Drive one you'll see the diffrence.

  • @puremaplesyrup22 i have driven a ford, my mom owns an excursion with the 6.0 powerstroke. the only difference i can tell between that and chevy, dodge, toyota etc is that its slower heavier and has no power.

  • @CnRDirt Have you driven a ecoboost?

  • @5deadman1 yea to bad there not smart enough to do that, if u havent realized ford invested alot of there money in new an improved engines an continues unlike dodge an chev having to use all theres to pay back the goverment ha.

  • @TylerRyan666 I have 2 chevy savana 3500 extended cargo vans. one with 445k miles and the other had a new engine at 630k, and has 760k now. that is why they didn't invest in engines bc they already had and made one worth stretching the dime with. i'll agree with shitty accessory parts however...like doorhandle LOL. Power in work vans is good but longevity is better....5 seconds up a hill is worse than 3 days in the shop. mpg is a little better than the ford as well by 2 gallons-300miles.

  • @TylerRyan666 btw half those miles they had 4-5000 lbs on them. and we drive into canada so it's got it's winter miles for sure. If anything chevy has got it's the best work engine....and i'll say again they do have really shitty parts otherwise. ford only invested bc chevy had them licked in the engine department. btw, i have 2 fords. this truck and a fiesta that burnt up bc oil pump problems. i like both! i love ford and chevy...but i really shouldn't like either. (damn repairs!)

  • @ p38fln yea i didnt have a clue what the boost was rated at now that i think of it, it makes more sense that it would be alot higher since it is a truck compared to a car...anyone kno what the SHO boost is rated at..could it be the same or no cause i would think not.. but still..i think ford only put them on there for bettter fuel economy an to prove you dont need a big engine for alot of power.

  • @dragracer3 no it's just a trick bs add like they all are...read my comment aboce :-)

  • I work for GM&can't help but notice how much bull ish every ad has in it, including ours, they're all such a con! They use their "FX4" which uses 3.73gear ratios, yet they didn't use the model on the Chev that would use the same 3.73's. In turn sticking the Chevy with the more civil 3.42ratio. To add insult to injury they upraded from weaker 5.0L to the 3.5L TTV6 365hp/420lb.ft.trq vs Chevy's 5.3L 315hp/330lb.ft.trq. So why the hell should it win? tricky tricky but you aren't fooling me guys! ;)

  • @MaxwellReviresco I dunno man, having a V6 with more power than your V8 isn't really a trick, it's just the truth

  • @Joker98816 Acutally "truth" would be saying that it's a TT V6 motor....that is borrowed from a car known as a Ford Taurus. Another truth would be that very same TT-V6 has more power & torq than their own 5.0L V8, & more Trq that their most powerful truck motor, their 6.2L V8 Now that's just the truth ;-)

  • @MaxwellReviresco While their 5.0L V8 has less torque and horsepower, their 6.2L V8 actually has more HP AND more Torque than their 3.5L V6. Which is probably why it's the choice for their new F150 Raptor

  • @Joker98816 only 14lb ft more trq..in a 6.2L V8. And less hp in every other V8 they have. It's called twin turbos...they tend to make up for cylinders. But i'd rather not use a car motor in a truck...just my opinion though.

  • @MaxwellReviresco considering a V6 takes less of a beating than a V8 with less moving parts that's less wear and tear on the motor, If i can get a good solid truck with numbers and performance like that in a V6, it's probably going to work out to my advantage. Chevy doesn't even offer an engine close to the specifications of the F150 motors unless you move up to their 3/4 and 1ton trucks

  • @Joker98816 What r u talking about? The GMC/Chevy 1500 w/the optional 6.2L. Bro I go to meeting & test comparos to know what the compition offers every year. I've been in them all...watch them on fram twisters (not bing able to open the rear door on the Ford due to weaker frame) to watching the 2wd GMC Sierra w/the STANDARD Locking dif. climb roller hills that the 4x4 fords couldn't b/c a locking dif is optional & isn't even avail in the 2x2. U don't know wut ur talking about my friend.

  • I would rather them go against a 6.2L Vortec instead of that little 5.3 or at least a 6.0L Vortec, that would be a better comparison test, the Ram on the other hand....well it gave it a good shot.

  • @crackerisntme Better comparison test??? its a V6 against v8! if u want them to use the 6.2 vortec then ford should use their own 6.2. or a better comparison would be a chevy V6 against ford's V6!

but 5.3 against 3.5 and the V6 still rapes the big V8... damn.... I would dump my chevy! pronto!

Ford is raping everyone right now and the haters dont know what excuse to put out there. lmfao

  • @sancho721 its turbo'd, if i slapped a turbo on my 5.3 it would leave this little ford choking on tire smoke, besides a chevy 5.3 can handle over 600 horse on a stock bottom, dont think ford can beat that

  • @snowyphil65 loosers make excuses..... then we would have to slap a turbo on the 5.4.... then who is boss, you see, dont hate cuz Ford is the best, just try to enjoy the tire smoke in front of you

  • @sancho721 my relatives have had trucks with the 5.4, and they all have been p.o.s's, since were going on about this, any way you look at it diesel is still the best, the most efficient, the most powerful, and the most fun, unless its a new dodge, they get 12 mpg lol. My brothers 04 lb7 duramax gets 25 highway, still wondering why ford chevy and dodge havnt scaled down their diesels for light trucks

  • @snowyphil65. my bro has a '04 5.4 with 238K miles and no problems. I got an '09 5.4 and does more than i expected. again no problems. but this vid is about the ecoboost kicking chevy's ass, cmon dont change the subject. and yes diesels are awesome but they r too much truck for my needs, the heaviest thing i tow is a 7,000 bayliner and my truck tows like a champ, so im good son.

  • @sancho721 ok look at it this way, that engines turboed for efficiency, so turbo a chevy for efficiency, and youve got the same thing, if you dont do that then your not comparing apples to apples, hence why if i turboed my 5.3 it would kick the crap out of this little 3.5, turbo a 5.4 and put it against a 5.3 and you would be about even, or turbo two 6.2's and compare them. Oh and v-6's sound gay as shit compared to a v-8

  • @snowyphil65 I do agree that v6's sounds gay, but untill chevy comes up with a turbo, FORD ROCKS!!!! and even after chevy comes out with their turbo, Ford will still rock.

  • @sancho721 im sure both chevy and dodge will follow, they all trade ideas around, the only ford ive kind of liked is my uncles 99 7.3 super duty, great motor, but everything else is kind of crap, tranny has been burnt up too many times to count, and the brakes went out two months after he bought the truck, other than that its put up with alot of abuse. Once a chevy guy, always a chevy guy, two chevy's have saved my life from my brothers dumbass driving, ill stick with em

  • @snowyphil65 to each their own my brother, I grew up on a '86 "cheyenne" or custom deluxe, and I loved it, then i got a 2000 ram 2500, and now i got the ford, but everyone in my family has fords and well never had major issues, and well I like ford the most now, but I wouldnt mind the new denali 2500, seems pretty sweet

  • @sancho721 ah yeah, that denali is beautiful, i wouldnt mind the hennessey raptor, that would be a kick in the pants

  • @sancho721 i like fords but i dont see how a v6 with turbo can last past 70k miles id rather get a bigger engine might not be as fast but for hauling it would last longer..but if used as a daily driver no need for haulinjg the ecoboost is a great choice

  • Why do they get the two trucks with such a high rear end. Of course a lower rear end gear is gonna win. Thats why I hate ford.

  • people are always saying oh it has twin turbos, with what 4 pounds of boost each they are used for fuel economy. turn the boost up to mabey 10 pounds or more an then you pussys can complain....oh an there like smaller then my fist

  • @TylerRyan666 it puts out 12 pounds of boost

  • i bet you if the ram and the siverado would have had any twin turbo engine, the results would be a lot different

  • Nice ford commercial. Twin turbos are awesome on any engine. GTR has a 3.8L twin turbo. It damn near out run a Z06 stock with 100+hp advantage. Twin turbos rock.

  • @iamdeathspank right on man fords rock

  • God, the new chevys look HORRIBLE

  • this was a great video. Go Ford

  • I have an old F-250 with a little 5.0 in it. It has over 180K miles on it. Throughout its life, it's been in one major accident (nailed by another truck that ran a red light), which crushed the front passenger corner body panels and nailed a tranny cooler line, that was fixed quickly. It's also been rear-ended several times (has a 1,000lb lift gate on the back, so no damage). Has been thoroughly worked on and off-road, towing and hauling. Same little 5.0, gets 18mpg highway, 15 with camper.

  • @archermoon1 That's because your Chevy probably has either a locking or an open differential. If it's open, that's a no-brainer. If it's a locking diff, then it's not locking up on turns (which is a good thing). Ford uses a limited slip rear end. I have one in my 2wd '07 F-150, and it does chug just a little. But really nothing to complain about. For a 2wd, it just does not get stuck.

  • rigged dodge is the one that pulls away from the compitition not ford to me ford kindof sux

  • Did anyone notice the gear ratio of the Chevy being 3.42? Total disadvantage...not saying the 3.5 still doesn't have more power, but they should have made gear ratios not a factor.

  • @wyattmccandless that ratio is the highest with that configuration for the silverado. if you look at the bottom of the screen they even show you that.

  • @wyattmccandless damn my silverado ratio is lower than that. that must of been a work truck

  • get back to your dirty jobs u fucker loool, this shits sooo fucking rigged

  • these are the weakest and most rigged tests ive ever seen

  • thats funny when when chevy did a similar test it was the exact opposite results

  • @jacobdorp that was the 3/4 tons though

  • @TheHondadirtbiker like i said befire ford makes a better light duty truck but chevy makes a better heavy duty truck

  • @jacobdorp I agree

  • This motor is amazing, but i am curious how the new transmission will hold up over all these miles?

  • The thing about these power tests with the ford vs chevy vs dodge is that the horsepower and torque numbers clearly show that the ford ecoboost engine is going to win. This test would be much more relevant if chevy and dodge both made twin turbo v6 engines. These tests should compare the v8 engines of the companies and not what it does now. I bet that chevy or dodge could build an engine similar to this and they would all perform very similar and be much fairer

  • @TheMcSquizzy thats an irrelavant argument though, they are comparing the best of the classes as of now. Since chevy and dodge dont offer a TTv6 that has nothing to do with the test. The test is comparing the light duty series of trucks, its not a unfair fight, thats the choices of chevy and dodge.

  • Part 2 of my Rant:

Call it what you want, broken in or not, the numbers don't lie. Straight from the git-go the Ford out performed all the competitors even before the engine had 100 miles on it. If your GM or Toyota needs a "break in" period to see better results and Ford doesn't, well Ford wins I suppose.

I've driven GM and Toyota and I can honestly say the Ecoboost is in another league. I traded in my Toyota for my brand new Ecoboost and I couldn't be any happier.

  • Part 1 of my Rant:

Everyone that says "FAIL" or "unfair advantage because the Ford is broken in". The thing that your not taking into consideration is the fact that before the engine was even put into the truck, dyno number showed the engine at it's full performance peak without even being broken in properly. They beat the crap out of it right from the start. Then after the torture tests where done, the engine still produced the same dyno numbers.

  • what if mike rowe drives a toyota

  • hahaha you gotta love all the chevy and dodge guys *whining girly voice* " but ford gearing was better, but ford's engine was broken in. ford this ford that"

  • Um, "brand new" trucks? LOL well this video was nice until they said that. Trucks gotta be broken in. Fail.

  • @Jarhead1407 *ESSENTIALLY* brand new.

  • ummm, he said at the end of the video that the dodge and chevy were essentially brand new. You do understand that a brand new truck must be broken in, and to get top performance you need to follow the break-in procedure and then drive it around normally for probably and extra 5000 miles, and then you should be good to go. BS!

  • @TheMeisterize i'm a ford guy.....but ya i do agree. that lil 6 was broke in good. it woulda been more fair to have the other ones broke in first.

  • @TheMeisterize These days, engines break in MUCH faster, due to special cylinder linings. And remember, he said, "essentially". That means that they were driven, probably to be broken in.

  • Comment removed

  • @KendrickMcMurphy if you look close you can see that ford states that the 3.42 is the highest ratio avalible for the GM 5.3-V8.

  • @KendrickMcMurphy that would be chevy's fault. so what if turbo'ed motors do better at highers alts, one up for ford then. and the 3.42 was all chevy offered.

  • @shadooky um no, my dads truck is an 06 and it has the 3.73 gears in it, and ik for a fact that they still sell the trucks with those gears

  • @ericpinter29 "available with the 5.3L" are we talking about an '06? no...this is a '11

  • @ericpinter29 No, they dont. 3.48 (I think) and 3.08 are all chevy offers in the 1/2 ton when equipped with the 5.3

  • @Benchimusprime thats retarted y would they do that, and i looked at my dads trucks options and pricing, 06 silverado LT with the 5.3L 3.73 gears

  • @ericpinter29 They did it for fuel economy. And I meant on new ones. Look at Chevys website, all 2011 1/2 tons with the 5.3 either come with 3.08 or 3.48 ( I think its 3.48) 3.73 is no longer offered.

  • @Benchimusprime i looked the 4.8L is offered with the 3.48 and the 5.3 is the 3.08, but i still think they should make the option of 3.73 for the 5.3L

  • @ericpinter29 I think they made the switch when they started putting 6 spds behind the 5.3s. More gears mean they probably made the first couple gears lower to offset the higher geared rearend.

  • I want to see it go against the 5.7L Tundra which has 401 lb ft @ 3600 rpm which is more low end torque than rams 407 lb ft @4200 along with tundra 4.3 gears. campared to rams 3.92 the ecoboost needs to out tow tundra.

  • @trondoveac ill admit that tundras are wayyyy better than rams or silvarado, but the ecoboost has 420 ftlbs or torque at 2750 rpm. it would be a good race, but i think ford would win

  • @trondoveac i ment 420 ft lbs of torque at 2750 rpm

  • @trondoveac i ment 420 ft lbs of torque at 2750 rpm

  • @trondoveac no one who uses their truck to tow would buy a tundra

  • @carguy379 Im not about personal likes or dislikes im about facts which is what I gave you. Yes I do own a 2010 5.7L Tundra but my favorite truck all my life has been Ram but it has tall gears that tundra doesn't have. The basics of all pickups is towing and hauling.and the facts about the truck will tow you which tows better.

  • @trondoveac the tundra's frame is shit

  • @carguy379 on the 1st generation tundra but the 2nd generation tundra has a better but not great frame that is capable of towing over 10,000lbs ad has not had a recall. I do think Toyota should have gone with a fully boxed frame instead of the open c but the frame has held up well for tundra owners and many of them due tow. Now this part is just my opinion I believe the big 3 are better at exterior styling, interior materials, refinement and handling which are Tundra's major weak spots.

  • @trondoveac have you not seen the frame tests for the tundra? i would never want to ride in one above like 40 MPH. really, the ford has better engines, a better frame, better interior, and better styling, so why would you buy a tundra?

  • @carguy379 I have seen the ford test and it shows that Ford has a better frame but you haven't seen or read where any tundra owners have had problems with the frame towing towing 10,000lbs no rust, bend or breaking and if you want unbias reports of how well tundra can tow US News rankins and reviews says 2011 the Tundra can tow and haul without breaking a sweat or youtube search "7.2 percent hill climbs" only the GM 6.2 made it up the grade faster towing tundra's frame isnt its problem.

  • @trondoveac havent you seen the video of owners who are complaining about driving on the highway? it is a problem

  • @carguy379 I have not seen that but as a fair unbias tundra owner I can honestly say that at hwy speeds doing 70 or more my tundra hndles fine on regular tar and gravel roads but when you come to those bridges that are concrete that handling that I said the big 3 does better comes into play. To sum it up from my experience tundra's handling needs to improve when the 3rd generation tundra comes out but the 2nd generation isnt unsafe but its noticeably not on par with the big 3.

  • @carguy379 The only reason I say the tundra should be int his competition is tundra's strong suit it moving fast unloaded or loaded or towing here is a amci certified test about tundra against the old 5.4l F150, 5.3L gm's, 5.7L ram and 5.6L titan in the youtube search type in Tundra versus the Competition (full version) Toyota designed the tundra to win stuff like the build Ford tough challenge. Everything the ecoboost did in this challenge tundra already did but can F150 now do it to tundra?

  • @carguy379 Also the reason why tundra owners love tundra despite its probles is tundra's 5.7L Iforce V8 and its gears (with or without trd supercharger) because only big block V8's have compared until maybe the ecoboost but we need 0-60 loaded and unloaded and towing test. Tundra owners love reliable towing and hauling and speed and tundra is one of the best at that combination due to its great 5.7L V8 and its gears but yes overall the big 3 are better.

  • I love how Ford always makes this type of fancy commercials but in reality their motors are full of problems and are outperformed by GM! lol

  • @buftman you obviously didnt watch the video. and another thing. nothing can touch ford in performance. Sooo EH!! WRONG. FACE!

  • @buftman Where do you get fords engines are full of problems? That is where you are wrong. None of fords v8's had anymore issues than gm's v8. Fact fords top ends are way better than gm. Now when is comes to v6 thats where both have had alot of issues.

  • @vector150 Ford's V6's are also pretty bulletproof. The 4.2 F-250 was named most reliable truck, and the Ecoboost, well Ford's proving it in this video.

  • @buftman im sorry but where did you see ford's v8s are full of problems? their v8s are bulletproof

  • Get the 5.7 tundra, 6.1 Hemi and the 6.0 chevy silverado and then compare:P and also, if i were to put twin turbos on my engine, of course it would perform better:PP wooow hahaa

  • @ferniee16 There isnt a 6.1 Hemi available in the Ram, and the 5.7 has no low end power. The 6.0 Chevy isnt around anymore in the 1500 and the 6.2 Chevy goes aganst the 6.2 Ford not the 3.5 Ford. The Tundra is unreliable and unrefined and the 5.7 is very peaky in its power band.

  • The point of the ecoboost hype is to get into people's heads that you don't absolutely have to have a v8 in a truck for it to be effective. The point isn't to compare it to the biggest most powerful engine possible, because every truck in this video is available with a more powerful engine.

  • Its a V6 folks. The fact that some are waring over gear specs and other available V8 engines should say something. Where is the V6 engines in the comparison?

  • Where is the 6.0, 5.7 tundra and the 6.1 Hemi? I mean, really. You take truck and turbocharge it, and find the lowest power rating V8 trucks, and compare them to a Turbocharged truck. Anybody follow this? I don't know, just saying.

  • @135yota The 6.0 is not in the price range comparison. Its is also with in the same specs of the 5.7 toyota, 5.7 hemi and the 6.1 hemi is not in the Ram. Its a V6, the fact that it even is being compared to a V8 is alone in its self.

  • @VARITHMS well the Tundra 5.7 is less powerful than the Ram 5.7, which the EcoBoost easily beats (towing or not). Ram does not offer a 6.1 Hemi at the moment on Ram trucks, not even an SRT-8 version, which would be for 0-60 times only and not for real work, plus even if it did exist, would cost a lot more to buy, and drink like a fish. Also Ford proved that the EB could out accelerate a Chevy 2500 6.0, while pulling 10,000 lbs. Not only that, the Chevy 5.3 half ton also beat the Vortec 6.0.

  • @MrChevypower well said

  • I do agree with sharpshooter, it wouldn't burn rubber. I have 2011 Dodge ram 1500 crew cab 4x4 with the Hemi. I have ran it against my friend's ford f150 with the ecoboost. The ford does have it off the line due to the turbos kicking in at a low rpm and low end torque. However, just like in this video, pay attention to the times. The dodge catches it.... watch the clip cutting time down... that dodge is on it's back door. Let's see that baby v6 after a few miles in the real world.

  • @gs283020 I think you're missing the point that the Hemi is a V8 which burns more gas. It's a waste of money...

  • @houleyman That is exactly my point. I want to see how well that little baby 6 holds up in the real world to the grueling work that they are saying it will do. Also, if you research the Hemi it is what... 2 mpg different on freeway and practically the same in the city... Not to mention that Fords run approximately 5K more on price tags for no apparent reason to begin with giving no incentives on top of that. Just sold my last hemi with 227K on it still working great... lets see 1 with 200K+

  • @gs283020 I know of a few people who have older F-150's (Pre-1995) and they have well-over 100,000 miles. It also depends on how you take care of the vehicle and how it's used or (even) what the intention is for having a truck. It is also based on preference.

There are incentives for the F-150 (XL through XLT models). It varies each month. The XL gets $1,500 off and the XLT gets $4,500 off. There are additional $500 incentives for police, college graduates, and military veterans.

  • @gs283020 They used a engine with over 160k miles that was put through pure hell. When they disassembled the engine at the North American Auto Show is showed very little signs of wear. Fordtrucks has the five videos of the torturer test it went through.

  • @gs283020 lol, the same in the city. More like 12mpg for the Ford 5.4 and Hemi 5.7 in the real world. 16 city for the EcoBoost. I think you want to check those prices too. The closest V8 in fuel economy to the EcoBoost is the Chevy 5.3, but I have to admit, it lacks considerably in performance.

  • @gs283020 lol no doubt

  • this doesn't make any sense to me at all. I have driven the hemi and i know for a fact that it will burn rubber for 500 feet if you use full throttle so lets see the tach on the dodge please

  • @MarcusVel13 Its pulling 9000 pounds... you aren't burning rubber with that weight.

  • It seems impressive, but in all fairness you take a truck that almost maxed at trailor wieght at 9000lbs (the chevy w/a 5.3L) and put it against somthing thats rated for 11 000 plus, with 3.73 gears over 3.42, that line shot is going to be in Fords favor. Now put that ford against GM's Vortec max trailoring package thats eqiupped to tow almost 11000 lbs and has the same gear ratio at 3.73, thats a test I would like to see, even if Ford took the win at least it would be more comparible.

  • @sleazysalesman It would be more compatible if Chevy was also using a V6

  • @sleazysalesman

Comparable to what? Using the 5.3, 3.42 is the highest available ratio there is. Chrysler lets their buyer throw some 3.92's in if they want, and up to 4.10 for Ford. The fault lies with GM for limiting options here. What I want to see is dollar for dollar, what stands up to each other at roughly the same MSRP - but then again, that is what you are seeing here - so it IS comparable. To equip what you want w/ the MAX package puts the Silverado considerably more than RAM and F150

  • ford rules!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the ford jumped on the dodge watch it carefully

  • Hemi V8 sucks hahaha

    i prefer cummins i6 6.7 instead

  • Ford should boost the 6.2

  • @BMWBurnoutM3 That's for the hot-rodders to do :D

  • @BMWBurnoutM3 A boosted 6.2 in a GT would be cool :)
