this is an incredible piece of footage!!..thanks to whom ever posted it..but a few months ago, i stumbled on to this very same type of footage. but elvis and the boys sang alotmore songs. i should have saved it to my favs. but i didnt. he was wearing the gold shroud, there was alot more intimate talk, and alot of other songs. if anyone can find more to this existing footage, i would be very grateful!..long live the 'KING' of rock and roll! by the way great, great stuff guys! true fans for sure!!
I have always believed he should've been a gospel singer. He was a great lead singer with the group in that old quartet style I was brought up listening to. Not that I don't love the music he did, I just think how great a gospel singer he would've been.
@wp1953 i agree completely 'wp'!..it was in fact his true choice of music. as he got older and his voice deepened, some of the 'spirituals he sang were incredible! they were so guttural and passionate! but he had alot of gospel songs that he sang as a younger man, when his voice was higher and slightly sweeter, that are incredible examples of his 'god' given gift! im sure you've heard em' all, but just in case, try 'i believe in the man in the sky'! his voice is as smooth as silk! angelic!!
