Tiles had boutiques underneath & you could get burgers 'n stuff as well as the music.. also 100 club was small 'n cool, like Flamingo! Then there were discos like the Cha in Barnet, Q Club in Paddington playing good ska. Also remember Scotch of St James & Samantha's & the Bag O Nails but more soul there & bands like the Rick 'n Beckers & Jimmy James & the Vagabonds.....oh yeah!

i used to go to the flamingo and the tiles brilliant clubs i used to travel up from the the south coast. such excellent clubs and times . did you ever go to the roaring twenties or any of the other clubs up west.

No, now, I mean nobody has yet mentioned the fact that in the first pic there are both Derrick "Blazing fire" Morgan, and Prince "Blackhead china man" Buster! I love the Prince to bits but at the time I would have probably sided with Morgan. By the way, good version of Jimmy Cliff's. In perfect Buster's style. Keep on rockin' steady and ska ska ska!

@SulivanCourt Blackhead China Man was about Leslie Kong not Derrick Morgan. Morgan and Buster started out as friends and their "Housewive's Choice" feud lasted only a few years ('62-'64) before they shook hands and made peace. In 1964 and '65 Derrick Morgan recorded a slew of tunes for Blue Beat Records all produced by Prince Buster, one track (You Never Know - 1965 BB 329) had Derrick and Prince Buster singing together.
