  • great tone and playing. How far away was the room mic placed from the amp and was it raised above the amp or in line with the speaker?

  • Which song is that at 0:37? Very nice demo by the way!

  • @dirtydevil81 Thanks, all the music is my own.

  • Post-Phase Inverter Master Volume, my new band name.

  • @Scrappy1138 PPiMV.... Nice!

  • Keep on a play'in Greg...I pickup allota Chops from you...Thanks Man! Doc

  • @mojostrat58 Cool ! Thanks!

  • HOW MUCH, AND WHERE DO I GET ONE???

    David...Halifax,Canada.

  • @axeslinger013 Give Retro-King a holler for product details.

  • Greg, you've got me in a real conundrum. First, you make me want a new amp like the Retro-King or the Tungsten Crema Wheat in the worst way, but then knowing I'll never have 1/10th of your chops makes me not want to ever pick up a guitar again! In all seriousness, your demos are more inspiring than most live shows I've been to in recent years. Brilliant, man!

  • @zumajim Thank you very much! I appreciate the good words, but I'll never be able to sound like YOU and that's the beauty of art, we all carry something individual and unique within our hearts and soul.

  • Greg you are by far my favorite amp reviewer! Which of the RetroKing's (18w or BB) would you prefer? Also, I love you playing style! Any chance you would consider doing a (video) lesson (or more ;) on some of those riffs you use during your reviews?

  • @EZrebel Thank you! I'm not a schooled player so not sure how I'd explain my playing. They're both great amps and serve different colors/textures. In general I like lower wattage amps turned up but even 18 watts can be loud, however the BB is great for that classic iconic tone.

  • @GregVmusic

You're not a schooled player? I respectfully disagree, sir!

  • Is this the stock amp with the only additional option being the negative feedback loop, or does it have some of the other mods, such as the Mercury Magnetics output transformer? I'm thinking of getting one of these, but not sure which mods to get. I'll mainly use it for recording, and like to keep the overall volume under 100dB at 3ft.

  • @tanukibrahma As far as I remember it's the stock amp with details listed in the video. I'd recommend contacting Retro-King for more info.

  • Hey Greg !!! GREAT VIDEO !!! I'm curious what your master was set at?? You've got a great touch!!

    Thanks keep those videos comin!!

  • @ranecco Thank you, all control settings are shown before each playing sample.

  • greg is a nocaster a strictly special order or reissue or is it part of the regular fender line? thanx what is the main diff between the no caster and regular telecastor..

i was going to get either a G&L or an Anderson tele-style how do they compare to your nocastor? thanx again for any help. your playing is inspiring..

  • @MOSKII58 Thanks! My Nocaster is a 2000 regular production, same as a Tele. Never tried the other guitars you mention.

  • I little bit mushy to me...is this inherent of the JTM45 circuit and tube rectifier or is alot of this attributed to the alnico Gold's? I've tried the Gold's with my current rig and didn't care for them...just curious.

  • @jamisonb162 Part of the JTM45 circuit beauty is the sag/compression, alnicos have a nice bloom as well.

  • Great great job!

    Thanks

  • @stevespeeder Thanks very much!

  • Hey Greg! I seriously enjoy your playing!!! If I wanted to be like you what kind of radius neck and pickups should I look for in my next tele? :)

  • @conrad4444 My Nocaster is factory stock with 7.25" radius and original pickups, glad you like my playing, thank you very much!

  • A very impressive amp!!!

  • i dont know if its the sm7b being too close to the amp, or the tubes breaking up so much but this thing doesnt sound so hot when overdriven. Cleans cant be bragged about either. ill stick to my two rock jet.

  • Incredible as always Greg, although I am a little surprised you chose not to demo any Beano type tones, especially considering the amp. Anyway, your playing always inspires me!

Which Retro King do you personally prefer, the 45 or 18?

  • @jmanmango Thanks! Both are great amps but my ears prefer the lower volumes of the 18, even though it can still be LOUD!

  • Absolutely Outstanding! - Of course the amp sounds great - but your playing inspires me to keep trying to get to another level! Thanks

  • @jmparker56 Thank you!

  • Oh HeavenlyMercy, a great sounding amp! I bet your neighbors could hear you loud and clear.

  • @jellyjukebox Ha-ha yes it's still ringin' in this zipcode!

  • This is why Greg rules. Nicely done duder!

  • @seanhalleyguitar Hey Sean, glad you dig the demo and thank you very much!

  • Really great !!! Bluesbreaker heaven !!!

  • @BluesPossessed Thank you!

  • Oh my that is some of the best Plexi tone I've ever heard! Yet another KILLER demo Greg! This amp sounds fantastic with single-coils and humbuckers. A wonderful blend of tones. Great job! Best, Trina

  • @Noitpure Thanks Trina, I'm glad you like the demo!

  • Wonderful as usual Greg. I really like the selection of guitars you're using now too. A great cross-section of single coil solid body, humbucking solid body and semi tones....although I think someone should talk Hamer into building a Tally with a Bigsby!

  • @Realfi Thanks G!!! Glad you like the guitar choices, just trying to show a wide sonic range for the demos. Cool !

  • AMAZING SOUND!!!!!

Feel free to post a clip of the 00:18 to 00:27 groove...fantastic! Is it from a song...or just jamming?

  • @SingleCoilVoodoo Thanks, all my jammin' riffs could turn into tunes!

  • Awesome demo!!! Hey will you ever demo any of the Ceriatone amps? Would love to hear those :)

  • @Kitarist88 Thank you! Have no idea exactly what future demos I'll be doing.

  • Great Greg! Thanks for your fantastic demos and nice playing!

  • @isleoflucy I appreciate it, thank you.

  • great demo Greg

  • @rockabilly12 Cool, thank you.

  • What, that amp is a beast.

  • @roknfnrol Ha-ha! it's very alive for sure!

  • Great Demo, warm tones and inherent natural presence coming through with all three guitars...as always the dynamics of your playing showcases the amp's character ! thanks...

  • @toomanywaystofall Thanks very much!
