JR was amazing.. this show was just like the mini series filmed entirely in texas. They even used the interior of the Calder home which is what they used in the first episodes when the network picked it up the show in the 78-79 season and the show's execs modeled the southfork interior after. The War of the Ewings show filmed the interior of southfork at southfork... They should have used the original Jock painting instead of one they used of jock and southfork blended in the background.

love jr he is and will always be the man but i cant understand why cliff didnt just put of the merger or keep ewing oil nobody though jr was after westar which is why carter mckay though he had outsmarted jr when cliff sold ewing oil to bobby when in fact it got him thrown out of westar was great seeing jr puting it to carter mckay after what happened at the end of the series

I still recall that after 20 odd years to this day, proof that it was a hard hitting soap but the difference being it was a real life soap.

Also I love the scene with JR and Bobby where JR tells Bobby the doctor swore him off drinking, and Bobby says "My. my." I guess that goes to both JR and Hagman.
