The sound was so boomy and distorted that I could understand very little of what was said by any of the people in the video. And is the case when the person usually holding the camera, the one closest to the mic speaks in one of those shrill Owoooooo! after having 2 semesters of french in college, I can say that Mademoiselle Sheffield taught me well, I had no issues with the language like i did after Madame Deviller left us. She's an amazing teacher, and an intelligent woman. shes doing SO well for herself, as much as CCHS misses her (and yes, i still have siblings there who knew her who tell me) She's touching lives as a teacher up near denton(: this needs to be taken down, shes suffered enough

I agree, I did know her personally and professionally and she always seemed to be a good person, however, if a white male teacher had made the exact same comment in the exact same "joking" way, they would have been out of a job long before the school year ended. While I will say that Ms. Sheffield was a good teacher as far as academics, this shows that she had serious problems of professionalism.

It is my belief that if she would make comments like this when she knew she was being recorded, they must be milder than what she would normally make.

If a white teacher had made the same comment, they would have been suspended before the day was out and would have had their contract to teach with the ISD revoked. If a Jewish teacher had made a comment about a black student, they would be out of a job. Why the double standard? Why is a woman that says these things still teaching?

Since she gave the students permission (actually she ASKED the students to take her picture and film her), how is it a betrayal that they did so? And according to your classmate, the reason she was not fired is because a few of her students convinced a lot of their friends, that were not in her class, to sign a petition. Of course I have no doubt that the petition came straight from the teacher in the first place.

She did not ask them to put it on YouTube but she did ask them to use the cameras on her and should have known if she was stupid enough to say something that made her look bigoted and could get her fired that it would appear on here.

A good second choice would be not to say them on camera. Since she choose to do neither of these, she is either incredibly stupid or naive. That or like I have said before, what she allowed to be filmed is much milder than some that she has said in class and she felt this one was no big deal. So which one do you think?
