  • Great vid Thnx Pain to those houses it kinda turned back at them

  • don't those people in the cars realize that there is a freaking TORNADO!! IN FRONT OF THEM

  • F2 !!!

  • WOW @0:50 IT SOUNDS SOOOO MUCH LIKE A FREIGHT TRAIN

  • BUT DAMAGE IS AND YOU SHOWED NOTHING. HOW DID YOU ARRIVE ON THAT BEING AN F5? IT WASN'T CLOSE!!

  • @gymman62

    6:25

The tornado pulls a very well constructed house off its foundation and throws it. I have read the survey and it shows several houses that were completely obliterated.

  • THAT WAS NO F-5!

  • @gymman62

This tornado may not look big, but size is not the basis for rating tornadoes.

  • Thumbs up if u hate People who is asking for thumbs up

    Oh wait.....

  • Ahh no one gives a shit, they are like driving right thru it

  • @bunt1691 wtf u r an idiot ef 5 means 2 miles wide dick sniff

  • @CALLOFDUTYisBAD01 uh ur fucking retarded, f5 isnt determined by how big it is but by how fast the winds are moving, go look up ur faqs before u speak fucking retarded cod player

  • Comment removed

  • @bunt1691 a tornado can be any size once there was a mile wide ef0 so it depends on the wind

  • @bunt1691 I agree. Tornadoes usually don't have to be huge to have great power. However, EF5s usually are large in size.

  • those people on the highway are like "oh geez that was close"

  • @bunt1691 , your'e so right!!!

  • UN - F ing- Real.

  • Why are people driving towards the tornado?!?!?!

  • @HesitantEvil They're arrogant.

  • @Nightmarcher89 Is it bad that I wished that the tornado just sucked up their car?

  • i watch this video lots thinking im lucky to have survived this tornado and people that make fun of this video think it was nothing well it was some it devestated the WHOLE TOWN OF ELIE!!! it took two months to clean up and at least half a yesr to rebuild are house!!

  • the house that goes flying behind that grain mill was are neighbours house we lived two houses away from them and that van was another neighbours and even though it might of not looked like an f-5 it was! tornados are rated on the damage they do it did serious damage. when we came out of are house it was pretty much gone so was everyone else's house are house was literaly GONE!so for all of you who think it was an f-1 tornado it wasn't, you weren't in Elie so you dont know what is was like ido

  • Someone needs to get into a wing suit, parachute and make a new sport called tornado surfing lol

  • @C89ZX7R Lol! That'd be cool!

  • I like the people that are driving toward it. I would flip my car in reverse and be like, "screw this! I'm out of here!" Haha

  • not an f5 its an f-1 i say

  • @nrhoden11 Tornadoes are rated based on damage, not size. In this video around 6:25 you can see F5 damage taking place.

  • @necronic. Agreed, just don't try to correct those with relevent knowledge, when you are ignorant on the subject matter.

  • @bunt1691 dude, it is perfectly OK to be wrong about the scale because it does not follow logically with any scale most know. I know it makes you feel smart to know this detail but dont insult people who dont know. teach them, thats all. like you were taught.

  • Everyone in this video is an idiot.

  • Whats wrong with their voices?

  • someone explain to me how it can bend like that and still keep its formation

  • Wow I want to know what it feels like to be those cars passing right by it looking out the window and right next to my car WTF holy fuck it's a fucking tornado O_O

  • That twister is determined to stay until it completely wipes that plant.

  • @dZeazR

    It has happened.

  • great idea, lets go ride our bike during a tornado lmao

  • Great catch. You can even see the internal vortex. Really amazing stuff.

Man I hate tornadoes but I sure am fascinated by them.

  • Wow people, this WAS an EF5. Experts concluded that, not people like you. I'm pretty sure when they asses the damage from a tornado they use trained meteorologist not some dude off the street who thinks he knows something about tornadoes.

  • I love the vehicles that drive towards these things. They don't give a shit. They got places to go. I think they'd drive through the thing if it was on the road.

  • @mooglethon lol you just made my day

  • Gah, I was just watching a diff. video of this same tornado (The one with the really chill, funny dudes) and people commenting on that video were doing the same 'LOL THATS NOT AN F5 ITS AN F1 AT MOST' thing. I think I just figured out why people are so clueless about the Fujita scale. The movie 'twister' made it seem like the Fujita scale was about 'size'...so most of the people saying "NOT F5 LOL" are basing all their tornado knowledge on a lame and inaccurate movie.

  • @Cassuttus the movies actually pretty good but your right!

  • did anyone else see the flying car at 6:40? he mentioned it and i saw it

  • @Cassuttus You gotta admit, the movie was exciting, even with little accuracy.

  • @Cassuttus

I give twister its props. It was pretty inaccurate, but I think it portrayed tornadoes a lot better than other movies.

  • its a worm! :)

  • that aint no F5 those are bigger

  • @McDezeil Not always. Size is not how to judge a tornado's strength

  • @McDezeil It was an EF5 and wind speed is what matters clown not size.

  • @McDezeil It matters by wind speed not size dude!

  • The dangerous thing is most people think a small in size cyclone like this isn't dangerous

  • wow wtf is up with these drivers? Its not very far away, i guess they like being face to face with death for no fucking reason?? Turn around you morons!

  • Lol why are they driving towards it?? That takes some serious balls to think you can beat a tornado

  • one way you can tell this is an f5 is by how fast its rotating. counting out the house getting blown up

  • Why are the stupid-ass drivers at 2:18 driving toward the tornado?? I would be turning the car around and getting my ass to Hell out of Dodge!

  • doesnt even seem real, everyone is going about there day as if nothing is happening. LOL, people porbably passing by saying " ooooo look at the pretty tornado"

  • FINALLY I've been looking for this footage for like a half hour now. I had to see that house get lifted into the air and obliterated, damn it!

I find it morbidly hilarious that one of the guys watching goes "Ka-booooom!" when the house gets disintegrated at 6:30

And geeze, I live in Canada and I can barely make out what these people are saying. I wonder if they're recent immigrants or something.

  • Did U noticed the Train that goes by yellow silver containers.... I Wonder!

  • Those cars just drive right past it. "OH look a tornado. Wave kids" :P

  • not nearly as intimidating as the large ones...

  • @Lamborghini274

Did you SEE what it did to that house? Most tornados couldn't lift the roof off that house, let alone lift it into the air and DISINTEGRATE IT.

  • @Jimera0 the large wedges appear much more ominous to me than this one

  • F5?

  • @jthouse51

Yup. Just goes to show that not all F5's are huge wedges.

  • @jthouse51

Hell yes, not all F5s are mile wide monsters. Some are itty bitty monsters that you'll look at and think "oh, look a little bittle tornado!" right before it literally sucks the air out of your lungs and throws you 1000 feet across the landscape.

Seriously, only F5s can do the sort of things you see starting around 6:20 in this video. This thing might be pretty small, but it packs one HELL of a wallop.

  • watch at 1:48 and you can see the side of the water tank cave in.

  • 17 people lost their homes.

  • @89murph wow your a dick

  • @baileystephanos No it's "Wow, you're a dick!". Learn to write properly.

  • @89murph im on the computer who cares but thanks for agreeing

  • @baileystephanos So being on a computer prevents you from writing properly?

  • WTF?? There's a tornado on the ground & those morons are driving right past it! Note to morons:when there is a tornado on the ground that close to the road, you GET OUT OF THE CAR & INTO THE NEAREST DITCH OR SOMETHING!!! DUH!!!

  • @Lizfan2 they are driving past the tornado!!!!!!!! why would you stop right at it moron!!!!!!!!!!

  • @standad445 Why would you drive anywhere near it to begin with!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was my point! I never said anything about stopping right at it.

  • @Lizfan2 Seriously dude. Or better yet, given the flat terrain that thing could probably be seen for miles, why the heck wouldn't you just pull over to the side as soon as you saw it a ways off and wait for it to dissipate?? I have a feeling people think only the big wedge tornadoes can be dangerous...

  • Uhh cars + tornado = too close for comfort lol.

  • why r folks drivin by? big as tornado rite by em i wud of cut across that grass so fast

  • i dont want to go through another one. its almost april and im so scared for this summer. on june 21 2010 at 9:15 pm a tornado hit my house well my town and umm... we were in south carolina and we live in WISCONSIN!!! i hate twisters. lucily it was only an F3 and on one was killed thank God for no deaths! unfortuantly some houses didnt survive. mine wasnt the worst damage but lets say VRY BAD!!! i miss our 1991 black firebird trans am!!! i will give the hole story but i dont have enough room!

  • @devilchild4526

    F3 is pretty bad.

  • @dragonridley ya it was but atleast everything is rebuilt

  • @dragonridley but f5 is even bad than a f3

  • @TheRedlegoguy

    No argument there.

  • cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm so scared of tornadoes! I'm afraid b cuz I will get sucked in Ahhh

  • amazing video!

  • it's a big crooked penis trying to fuck mother earth.

  • That thing is standing almost still (by tornado standards, anyways). Great video, thanks for posting.

  • you have the best camera.... its about 3 km far but u just focused it

  • these cars should hurry up a bit...

  • that was an F3 not an F5 unless it was.

  • @meteorologykid

You can't determine a tornado's rating based on size.

The footage at 6:25 shows that tornado throwing an extremely well built house. Such is considered F5 damage.

  • @dragonridley yea i just rememberd how the tornadoes are based on the intensity of how much they consume. i forgot to put that in my comment lol thnx for reminding me. plus i just got done watching Twister so that kinda through me off there xP

  • SWEET!!!!!!

  • Tornado intensity is rated on the fujita scale which takes into account the number of comments made on youtube about the actual intensity and factors in the number of people who tell other people they dont know what they are talking about. Its a very complicated system that as a result of the constant influx of youtube comments makes it nearly impossible to get an actual intensity rating.

  • @timmytyphoon hahaahah

  • thats not an F5

  • @2007tacoma

Judging by what? Tornadoes are not rated by size.

Footage at 6:25 shows an extremely well constructed house being torn clean off its foundation.

    That is F5 damage.

  • omg :-(

  • too bad you couldnt keep the camera still and focussed as it went over that building. that was pretty frustrating. (sigh)

  • you sure that's an F5?

  • @Fourteen88SoCal

Yes. At least one extremely well built house was torn clean off its foundation.

  • @dragonridley :( not cool...hope everyone was okay!

  • @Fourteen88SoCal

Fortunately nobody was in the house that was worst hit at the time. There were a few minor injuries in other houses where there was F4 damage, but that's about it.

  • @Fourteen88SoCal did u see that house go boom. tornado strength is not equal to size and id ont know why people think that

  • Comment removed

  • That was the best tornado f yet.

  • i see cars and truck close to the tornado at 0:22

  • Don't be a dumb-ass don't drive while there is a tornado out.

  • people are just friving by asif its not even there lol.

  • Is that really an F5? it doesnt seem that wide x

  • @simpleprincess3

This tornado sorta went against stereotypes. F5 tornadoes are not necessarily huge.

  • @simpleprincess3 its based on wind speed not width.

  • it's just chuck norris drinking straw

  • It just blows my mind (pun intended) how fast that thing is rotating.

  • thanks for sharing that video, them winds were hauling azz......

  • all of you, before chasing tornados chase some schoolgirls!

  • @AnieWieder Why not do both? Girl season goes all year round.

  • nossa meu sonho era ver um deste na vida real!!!

  • Fujita scale shows wind speed in it, tornado path length and the width of the tornado path, it causes the damage, but still i guess you are one of those Canadians who can't rate their own twisters...

  • Big, small, doesn't matter, they are bigger than you and will turn you inside out if you are stupid enough to get too close to one. They are definitely cool to watch, but not for the faint of heart.

  • OOPS....I meant the two gals standing there at 1:04....not 7:53. And maybe that guy riding up on the bicycle is her "current" personal tornado warning system. Not for long!!

  • And just for the record....at 7:53....those two gals standing there in the long dresses....they both are built quite nicely. The one on the right in particular...she's built like the proverbial "brick house"...which, most of you probably don't know...is one hell of a high compliment about a woman who is built strong, athletic and very well put together. I think I would like to be her personal tornado warning person. I'll crawl thru her bedroom window at nite to alert her of any rotating storms.

  • Nope, I've been chasing as long as he's been alive. The other Joel and I have traded emails about Reed recently, though. I'm one of the few guys around, or let's put it this way....one of the few chasers around that will defend Reed and how he goes about his business. Reed actually thanked me last year via email regarding that.

  • @naderchaser

I kinda admire Reed. I think of him as the Steve Irwin of tornadoes.

  • @dragonridley Yeah, that seems like a good analogy. But in the "world" of chasers, and by no means do I claim to know all of 'em or how they all think...but in a nutshell...Reed has opened the chasing experience "gates" wide open...for all to see. And what they see is problematic, in that Reed....foolishly imo...will do stuff like let what he perceives as weaker tornadoes hit his vehicle. So now, Joe Blow high school soph with a new driver's license in the midwest tries that too. Bad mojo.

  • @naderchaser

Didn't he let an EF4 wedge hit is vehicle earlier this year?

  • @dragonridley I don't know about the EF4 wedge hitting him. I think that would be impossible to survive. You know, just watching a F-2 close up....people have no idea just how insanely powerful those are. Tornadoes are big, dude. Even if they're skinny, up close....they'll tall. This "thing" hanging from the sky to the ground...they're huge. Watching these vids...they just can't convey the size thing. Tornadoes are big entities of nature. You stand near one, you will suddenly feel small.

  • @naderchaser (2 OF 2). Back "in the day" guys like me had the entire storms basically to ourselves. NOBODY was chasing. You could just park on a hill and watch your tornadic cell cruise by leisurely, then drive a bit more and park for awhile, shooting as many photos as you wanted and just watch God's Beautiful Opera in the sky unfold...just for you. Now...every Tom, Dick and Harry hanglider, bunjee jumper and thrill seeker is out there too, being stupid, clogging roads, drinking beer, etc.

  • @naderchaser

Now you make me feel guilty about wanting to chase some day.

  • @dragonridley Whaaat? Nahh, don't say that. You're the type of guy who SHOULD be chasing. Look, you're obviously serious about this stuff. It's in your blood. Like the rest of us "real deal" chasers, you're hooked on it already, but you probably don't know why. You've probably always been this way. See...I know how it is...we're all that way. It goes down deep. Plus, you're always floating in and out of these tornado vids on u-tube. What you NEED to do is join StormTrack. Google 'em then join.

  • @naderchaser

Thanks. I am looking at colleges at this point and plan on trying for a degree in meteorology.

  • @dragonridley i want to chase tornados too when im older and get into colledge. ive watched stormchasers for about 6 or 7 seasons and it kinda inspired me.

  • @JUSTdoIT870

The movie Twister was my inspiration.

lol, I was 4 when I saw it.

  • @JUSTdoIT870 you wont get into "college" spelling like that.

  • I would like to commend the person who shot this video. Sure, there is some camera movement....it isn't a professional cameraman taking this footage, it's your local townspeople....so you who are bashing the camera work...shut up, please. Tornadoes are hard to shoot....I've been chasing the USA midwest one month each yr. for 25 yrs. This was one powerful wicked monster....ready to pitch out debris at them as it moved closer. But they kept shooting. Great work, guys. Question: is there any more?

  • That vortex is incredibly powerful from 3:25 on. I believe it's at least an EF-3 due to the sheer ability to completely tear apart a massive structure like that grain silo...quite impressive, nonetheless.

  • @mk7punta

I have seen a map of this tornado's track.

The damage at that mill was rated a F1-F2. It was around 6:25 that it hit F5 strength.

  • its scary how the size of this tornado is Oo but its only i would say "womans leg"

  • Why do these "Canadians" have very odd accents?

  • wow you could see inside of the tornado and its vortex!! Nice film and tornado!

  • What kind of optical zoom were you using? 70x

  • @1:22 that's what she said! :D

  • I like how people are just driving by it like it's something they see everyday

  • beautyful tornado 0:02

  • if that was an F5, that truck that passes by would of been thrown in the air.

  • @Turtledude671

It only reach F5 intensity briefly (around 6:25 ). Through most of the video it was at F1 to F2 intensity.

  • Every tornado video theirs a few cars driving by like they think its nothing dangerous just turn on the wipers it will be fine.

  • whoever is running the camera need no learn how to focus it

  • its not f5 its f1 maybe f2, but still amazing

  • @xChamaZx

This was indeed an F5. Tornadoes are rated by damage, not size.

F5 damage can be seen at 6:25 when the tornado throws a house.

  • @xChamaZx Fujita Scale is damage, not size, or did you miss the other 25 or so odd posts that mentioned that? Or maybe you think us Canadians can't rate our own twisters or something?

  • @pspboy7 Fujita scale shows wind speed in it, tornado path length and the width of the tornado path, it causes the damage, but still i guess you are one of those Canadians who can't rate their own twisters...

  • Comment removed

  • @xChamaZx

I think I know what you are referring to in that The Fujita-Pearson scale accounts for damage, path width, and path length. But this actually involves three separate numbers: the Fujita rating based on damage and two Pearson numbers based on path length and path width though, for some reason these Pearson numbers are rarely used.

So based on the data for damage, path length, and path width the full rating of this tornado would be F5,2,3.

  • This must be the calmest bunch of people I've ever seen during a tornado. Just goes to show that Americans overreact to things, the Canadians keep their cool.

  • @7477238 That's really an idiotic statement, 7477238....isn't it? You should be ashamed. Trying to impersonate a "troll", huh?

  • @naderchaser I'm a troll? I had to go through a few pages worth of comments before I found what I originally wrote. You're the troll buddy. Look at the amount of comments you just wrote on YT. For anyone who doesn't think Americans overreact to shit are just plain brain dead. I can't believe how many of them think it was an act of God. Pfffffthahahahaha!

  • @7477238 Obviously, you're jealous that you're not American. It's plain as day.

  • @naderchaser Why would I be jealous of a Country that invades other Countries and kills thousands and thousands of innocents? You can stop trolling me now. BTW most of us up here in Canada don't live in Igloos.

  • @7477238 You're jealous because if and when your country get attacked you folks will beg the United States military to save your butts. And we'll do it.

  • lol, there goes the CP mainline signals.....

  • mabey they didnt see it ..... O.O ummm lol

  • the thing looks frickin scary in the beginning

  • look at the tree, ohh the tree XD

  • 6:54... yeh lets sit there and watch that tornado throw a piece of building at me...-.- tornados are probably one of the most fascinating things in life to me.. but id NEVER get THAT close to one.. and im talking about the stupid blue car

  • lol the cloud has a dick

  • maybe an EF3 but not an F5

  • @MrRem300 it was an f5

  • @MrRem300

Indeed it was an F5. Tornadoes are rated by damage, not size.

At 6:25 the tornado throws an entire house. That is F5 damage.

  • Why would those retards just drive around like there's no tornado...

  • That tornado must of lasted a while

  • I'm surprised that the tornado didn't lift the near by cars up.

  • Dang that tornado hit that place like 3 freaken times

  • Realmente são imagens incríveis, Parabéns pelo vídeo!!!

  • @leladospassos O gajo entendeu tudinho aposto xD
