I tried to like rap and hiphop, but I just can't identify with it. I'm not from the streets, I have no neighbors that smoke/deal crack. I've never ran from the cops, I don't carry a gun, and I am nobody's "baby daddy". The whole scene just doesn't do it for me.

Rap like lil wayne and T-pain, i can't take, and that kind of rap is kinda easy. But rappers like Tech N9ne and Vinnie Paz, are not to be messed with :P

In the same way, bands like Mettalica aren't that talented (no offence), but bands like Nile or LoG are very talented!

the way i look at it. most hiphop and rap isnt realy music but every genre has its own strong points. as it comes to beatboxing, i believe it is. it is a skill that developes over time just like playing a instrument. but when it comes to techno or auto tune hiphop bull crap well.. lets just say anybody can press a button on a keyboard.

@firesage423 I agree that a significant portion of the mainstream rap is like that, but that doesnt mean there isnt a down to earth and amazing underground hip-hop scene. People who dont listen to metal base it off of the medias perception of it (crazy people getting trashed, nonsensical screaming, etc). Similarly, rap/hip-hop gets unfairly judged simply because many of the 'popular' rappers have desecrated the artform. Look up artists like CYNE, A Tribe Called Quest, Shing02, Blackstar, etc.
