I don't know why people keep bringing the Norse gods up in connection with Ensiferum, as they are Finnish and thus have little to do with the Norse gods (although there are some songs such as Dragonheads which obviously is a tribute to vikings). The pagan Finns had their own pantheon of gods and the counterpart of Odin in that pantheon is Ukko.

But I agree wholeheartedly that these guys are more than awesome. Favorited and subscribed. Also, Ensiferum posted this on their facebook.

Are you seriously claiming to me that you know the pagan history of my own country better than you and that everything I've been taught in school is false?

Like someone already said: check your facts man. Firstly, Finland doesn't belong to scandinavia. Secondly, Finns did have their own pantheon and Ensiferum has made plenty of songs about it (Ahti for example is the name of the Finnish God of Sea/water).

So you are incorrect on every possible level. Educate yourself.

Seriously man, for the second time: I am a Finn and I've lived here all my life and studied history. So please, don't come telling me "facts" about a land you hardly know. Scandinavia is officially defined as the cultural area that ecompasses sweden, norway and denmark because all of those regions have common culture and language. Finnish as a langauge is totally different from Danish/Swedish/Norwegian which are nearly idententical and thus Finland is NOT part of Scandinavia.

If you still don't believe me you can easily check it from any encyclopedia. As for your second point: Yes, until about the 11th or 12th centry, most Finns like mosty were paganistic, but the religious practices and gods that the ancient Finns worshipped were different from those worshipped by the Vikings. There is extensive historical and archeological evidence of this and it is a matter agreed upon by historians.

So stop yelling bullshit and go study history.
