  • Those tyres, they're too fucking thin to do anything with.

  • lol now THATS how you disguise a car hahahaha lolol

  • UK price to start at £28,000 announced today. Too expensive imho.

  • 0:19 oh shit!

  • They´ve tried to disguise the rear end as a VW Corrado?

  • supra is my favorite car but this one sucks,,, is far below from sti or supra lol ..... looking forward for the tesla model s..)

  • @bonds911 toyota announced they're making a supercharged version making 250+hp! Hang in there bro, looks like the high output version is on the way

  • @bonds911 well, this is not Supra, this is FT86, it's come from AE86 model.

  • If the motor is shit then it better have room in there for a 2jz

  • sold his "Gamer" "WRX" LOL

  • final price is said to be 16,000 dollars (rom reliable source) cant wait to test one out

  • @nitroaztecgold I have heard $20-25k

  • @NeedMoarRoagz yea they were going from 20 k to 25 k a while back but decided to stick with the 16 k priceline because tht was the set goal and its being put under the scion badge so itll be a similar price to the Tc because they wouldnt make a car aimed toward teenagers expensive in these times. i really hope my sources are correct though because i may be wrong about it

  • @nitroaztecgold WRONG

  • @mertechperformance £16,000= $25,000 could've been less of a douche about a typo man

  • omg dude! I had no idea there was a reincarnated "eight six" coming soon! I just hope they don't stick an n/a subaru flat 4 in that thing or it won't run any better than the damn imprezas. It's funny how the old ae86 was in the corolla family and now it's a totally different car! I've been dying to buy my 2011 wrx but now that i've heard of this car I don't mind waiting a bit to see how this would do. I'm a initial D fanatic and this is just magic to me right now man. So excited!

  • @vboytan lol... Another Initial D fan who likes a hachi roku and thinks they can drift-o... its not an ae86 never will be. this is an entirely different and NEW car. God kids like you make me want to stick to sleepers. its why I sold my WRX.

  • @divine101 I am an initial D fan! I also do not "think" i can drift I actually took the liberty to learn how to so yes I can (high five?). It's also very apparent that this is a completely different car but it was inspired by the old AE86. It's said by toyota themselves that this is the reincarnation of the old car. LOL go stick to sleeper then, it's kids like us that don't really give a damn what toddlers like you think of us. You're prolly just mad cause you tried drifing and crashed.

  • @divine101 "it's why i sold my WRX" LOL i'm willing to bet money you've never even been in a WRX in your life hahaha

  • @vboytan Well if your into cartoons, this car will never be for you, son.

Doubt you can even afford it.

  • @Laitharex Lol the whole reason this car is so big is because of it's backround. Which whether you like it or not it's got something to do with cartoons.

Oh yeah and what car do you drive right now?

  • @vboytan Viper Srt-10, You?

  • @Laitharex BMW M3 e92 and STI. If I get this car i'm selling the sti.

  • @vboytan Won't stand a chance against the STI.

  • @Laitharex Prolly not that's what i'm worried about. If it's boosted then I wouldn't mind cause i'm just looking for another RWD car.

  • @Laitharex its not supposed to... duuh

  • @thealeksanderh The point of the car, then?

  • @Laitharex u know every car goes under a certain class right? STI is 4wd street sedan(asuming u mean the sedan, and not the hatch) its purpose is basically making a rallycar or a little more advanced racers.. the BZ-R is a RWD urban/street car for a younger audience, abillities for mass production and cheap production. its compeeting with other RWD cupes, and the STI is a Sports sedan with 4wd. its a totally different genre... so OFC it will not be on the same lvl as the sti :D

  • @thealeksanderh the Sedan it cab be RWD.

  • @d1gps15 what do u mean?

  • @thealeksanderh that sedan it can be rwd, you were talking about subaru.

  • @d1gps15 yes ofcourse, but u still have to du a special modifcation that is not standard on the vehicle. keep in mind u can also get 4wd on the BZ-R or GT-86, but then againg u have to do a special mod.

  • @vboytan if you get that viper, is not good. sti it still powerful viper for many chances..

  • @d1gps15 what?

  • @runamoktoo yeah do they realize these things would sell out if they had a turbo. The na 4 cylinder isn't going to impress anyone. so stupid.

  • @NitroGadvRules my thoughts exactly. I mean if people do buy these, sti motor swaps are going to be the thing... Or just turbo'ing them based on the specs of the stock flat 4...

  • @suprakilzz26 yeah, the NA version of the subaru flat 4 isn't impressing anyone, the turbo version are the only ones worth talking about. Really dumb decision on toyota/subaru's part (probably more toyota). And what sucks is because its non turbo Its pretty much guaranteed to not have forged internals which means turboing the stock block is going to be risk if you run much more than low boost. They finally give us a new rwd car and then give it a shitty drivetrain. Sucks.

  • @NitroGadvRules i agree but i disagree with the toyotas "fault" part since subaru was in charge of all drivetrain stuff. I still love this car tho. Plan on getting one after im out of colelge. Two more years!!!

  • looks like a corrado. i hope the production car has those wide front fenders (sti style)

  • Comment removed

  • It needs UEL header :p

  • Does anyone know if the FT-86 concept will be available in Auto? I'd would dieee trying to drive a manual stickshift..

  • @xxNELLABOYZxx learn how to drive manually you pussy

  • @zigzag42092 HELL YEAHHH I WANT TO LEARN HOW TO DRIVE MANUAL NOW 1 month changes a lot hmm? =)

  • it's actually a Scitoru - Scion(US),Toyota and Subaru.

  • @Technoboy1000 actually Scion is Toyota so, no

  • with tape? lol

  • This is Subaru's test mule. Needs WRX engine and can't be N/A

  • @runamoktoo Dont trip bro, much love to the 3sgte. I owend a 91' ttops back n the day. Just don't want the older car headaches. I had an 95 gs-t that would sheet on muscle. with the exception of anything supercharged in the mustang family. Camaro's were a joke back in the day, the SS really meant Super Slow even with the baby bottle. But i do hope they give the so called scion/subie halfbreed some raw power. I hate doing fuel systems.

  • @runamoktoo I want new hotness, not old and busted. although, both the supra and mr2 were both excellent cars. I don't want the old headaches.

  • @delox77 they are talking about a factory turbo upgrade. And since its the subaru boxer engine there are probly tons of turbo kits that will work

  • @flyingdutchman916 Funny thing is that it's a new Subaru engine, where as almost all Subaru engines sold in the last 20 years were of the EJ series, this is an FB series engine. I can't imagine parts would bolt up.

  • A mule is the underlying mechanics of the car only, no body work, and anyone who doesn't think this thing goes well for a car that's gonna cost in the 20s brand new is insane.

  • That thing looks like it handles like shit.

  • All i know is they better bring out the beast in this car. Turbo option, atleast 260HP. I can build from there. Toyota RWD turbo! I would die for one. FULL TRD suspension. My mouth is just watering!!!!! I miss my celica gts. We need a new generation of celica, with forced induction stock!! I will pay 25-30k U.S. for it too!

  • i thougt it was gt5 for a moment

  • the body style looks like it belongs to late 80's

  • I like its license plate, it says DAU which is a word you'd use in Norwegian about a really slow car. (The the word literally means "dead".)

  • please tell me it wouldnt look like that...

  • @DCkin713 it wouldnt look like that

  • Mule = not in real shape/covered or somethin', right? Cause it doesn't look like the concept I saw on photos at all! ;D

  • are you serious? this car has nothing of the AE86. NOT EVEN CLOSE, TOYOTA ! bad bad bad, better luck next time, but i think there will never be a car like the AE86 again. lol.

  • @HuhnK0t Thats because this car isn't a corola. Just because it says 86 doesn't mean it's in relation to the original ae86. It's an ft-86

  • i'll murder all toyota executives in the united states if they market this car as a scion frs. heed my words along with the MILLIONS who are coming to ur door step.

  • @aznguy11111 Honestly, I think we should be thankful Toyota is even gonna sell it outside of Japan, let alone build it in the first place.

I would also prefer it badged as a Toyota here and not a Scion, but it's not a deal breaker, and you can always import the stuff you need to convert it to the JDM version.

So so long as there's no difference in performance from the domestic version, they can call it a Hino or Daihatsu for all I care.

  • @TBustah Ain't muxh of a Japan left to sell it in :D

  • i cant hear the motor very well in this vid. the person who posted the original should have told if its a h or inline 4.

  • @delox77 its a Subaru 2 liter flat 4 which is disappointing because the naturally aspirated version at most will put out 180hp

  • @2bidfilmsguy with $4 gas maybe 180HP is enough, eh.

My Miata puts out ~150HP at the redline but that's enough, and I do like the 30 mpg I get now.

  • @tachikaze222 very true but if I wanted to spend 25 grand on fuel economy I could get 4 doors and 50 miles to the gallon, i know it would handle nice but I believe Toyota is trying to make this like a tuner car

  • @2bidfilmsguy it is no longer the ej line of engines in this car. It's an all new motor that will supposodly make around 220hp. it will be a oversquare, high reving engine.

  • @andremichel69 good I would think the performance though would be just under a Honda s2000, but I believe this car is really made for the after market manufacturers

  • Crossing my fingers for it to be called an SVX!!!!!

  • @nismoking1994 would be cool, but an SVX always had a H6

  • so what type of engine does it come with an inline four? or opposed?

  • @K20civicsirturbo It's prdicted that it will have the boxer engine from the Subaru.

  • @K20civicsirturbo opposed

  • Go go bondo bucket

  • yeh yeh ! let's start saving :D

  • There will be two seperate trims available, one being the base model FT-86 (mid $20k range), and the other being the FT-86 G turbocharged (mid $30k range)

  • @zyalater300 Sorry mate, there are no statements confirming this. They aim to begin at around $20K, and there are no news of a turbocharged model. Only 2.0 liter flat4 NA so far. Personally, I'd prefer a high powered NA. But that's just me.

  • @zyalater300

    Who says that?

  • @zyalater300

Is this confirmed? Cause i read that it will only come out with out turbo...

  • @zyalater300 In America the FT-86 will be sold as the Scion FR-S in the low $20k range

  • I am a Technician for Toyota, and curious for info on this vehicle, I asked our shop foreman if he had heard anything about the project, and he said that he had actually attended a function where not only the release was being planned, but also that there would be more RWD "enthusiast" vehicles coming to both the Toyota and Scion brands within the next few years. I'm now asking myself... what will the Scion be, and could this mean SUPRA??? I can't wait to see!

  • Thats the Toyobaru that will be sold at your local Subaru dealership and the FT-86 will be sold at your Toyota dealership. We just got our first info on the Toyobaru (still no official name though) and its going to be in line with the WRX.

  • its gunna be under 20k and its gunna be sold by subi and have subi badgeing

  • @0ninjapanda

    Under 20k pounds. not dollars.

  • @JpOcDenver It is $20,000 which is around 13/14,000 Pounds.

  • I'm just about to get my learner permit but boy!!!! I'm saving up from now!

  • sheize, it looks like something in between a civic and VW corrado... I'll do a better coupe, haha

  • Comment removed

  • man I want an ft86 sooo bad, that way I can have an ae86 and an ft86...plus it'd be a lot easier to pick up women in, for sum reason chicks just dont dig rollas......

well, cant even save for ft86 yet, GZE going in this winter

  • @Reuterskiold well the new 2liter will prolly sound rougher with a more open exhaust. but yeah a agree with you the 2.5 gives me orgasms. lol

  • i am sorry guy's but that isn't the sound of a boxer engine

  • @BUILDSforDRIVING the 2.0 liter sound different then the 2.5 liter we are used to.

  • @Michaelation08 ok cool thats a shame tho i like the rough sound. is it simmilar to the 2000 wrx motor

  • this isn't the ft-86

  • Man, his car GOES! I already wanted one, but seeing it- I believe moreso now than ever. I must have one (especially if it does NOT look like this).

  • Man, his car GOES! I already wanted one, but seeing it- I believe moreso now than ever. I must have one (especially if it does NOT look like this).

  • it 0:14 i swear i hear i turbo it must be a car i cant see

  • I am guessing this is not the finished styling?

  • @DeviousPrimate lol of course thats not how its going to look, subaru and toyotas cars often look very simular to the concepts so u wont be disappointed especially with subarus symetrical all wheel drive and a turbo boxster engine! im sure the toyotas performace will be disappointing though unless TRD parts are avalible

  • do you think this will be more populer than the supras????

  • start saving boys! shes going into production!

  • Car companies do joint operation things all the time :P

  • 80's comeback?

  • TIE fighter @ 0:16 ?

  • Looks like a combo of an Impreza STI and a VW Corrado.

  • so stupid, toyota went to get help from something they could of done better themselvs>>> GAY!!!! well mabee in the early 90's, toyota use to be the shit!!!! but now they decided to crap out and start making hybrids and raceing in nascar... and using japanese companys with german enginiers...??? am i the only one wondering where this frankenstien douchbag creation came from???

  • @64efa ye mate u are the only one

  • Looks almost exactly like my 1990 VW Corrado (google it)

  • LOL @ the penis 0:32.

  • @ShinnSin lol yeah they had a close up of it on top gear haha.

  • testing what, bad drivers?!!!

  • look like a wrx in the front

  • is all dressed up in disguise..lol

  • Man this car looks like its literally cut in 2 halves and stuck together hehe :P

lets hope it's gonna be better looking ^^

  • I really hope that they added to it to disguise it...Cuz I really want this car when it comes into production, but I want it to look good, if it doesnt I wont get it :(

  • Some people needs to understand the concept of "Mule" in car industry...

  • @pansho550F hahahahaah dude,

  • Man i sure hope the toyota will reach europe aswell...i just like toyota's design better then subaru's ....

  • wow this thing handles well from the looks..

  • so is it decided yet wether it will be a subaru or toyota in america? last i heard it is going to be one in america and the other in japan

  • If they put a flat 4 in the ft 86 i will be sooo let down. flat 4's have no place in a toyota

  • @49Shortvid Toyota's have no place messing with flat 4s.

  • @Plisken1986

I'm sure you have no clue that Toyota once upon a time had a boxer engine in it's portfolio, and actually had a an FR boxer engined sports coupe in production.

  • its ugly as shit men!

  • @veigadevil Its covered in cladding to hide the body contours, lenses and other "proprietary" styling.

  • That's one ugly ass car.

  • @IAmSamThatIAM its a concept look so no 1 find out what it realy looks. Have u ever seen tha concept for Impreza WRX back in 2007 ... sh1z look ugly like back 2 tha future.

  • its the new corrado!

  • How fast did it do it on the track, and was it north or south?

  • That put that ugly stuff on the car to disguise it from photographers, it might be ft86 under there but it might not, Toyota is also working on a new version of the corolla bc so many people thought ft86 was ae86 when it's a brother to mr2

  • it hella looks like that rear end was slapped on there recently. So much paint discoloration on it. or it might be the clouds. maybe its just me.

  • No way in the world that is the FT-86. Tail lights look very BMW-ish, sounds more like a 6cyl then a 4cyl, hell it even has positive front camber.

And even if it is the new FT-86 there are going to be some mighty pissed off toyota fans, cause that thing is fugly as, and looks nothing like the concept, not even close.

  • Although it is only a test mule

  • @fkn16v

It's a test mule. Sometimes companies will use older chasis modified with the expected engine of their concept to see how it performs. A good case in point was the "new" NSX's test mule for their V10 engine. It was just an extended S2000 chasis with a 4.5L Honda V10

  • rear part looks similiar to lancia delta from mid 90's

  • Toyabaru?

Imo this is much more uglier then the FT-86 concept.

Is this actually an official car or is it camouflaged atm or built by someone on their own initiative?

  • HUGE ass

  • Nordschleife :)

  • I can't fucking WAIT for this car! Finally, a return to a proper sports car: small, LIGHTWEIGHT, unencumbered by useless technology, 4 cylinder (horizontally opposed is a bonus), RWD coupe. This is going to be the best mainstream car in a while. Good job toyota (and subaru)! Now lets hope other manufacturers follow your lead.

    *End Gushing*

  • looks like impreza

  • Why would the jappos build a test mule in left hand drive.

  • Subaru's version might possibly come out with it's Turbo Charged STI engine, 305hp, also has Awd.

  • I love this car! big fan of two things Toyotas And boxter engines. Never cared much about awd. God im Phycked

  • what the fuck is Toyobaru? LOL

  • @sdutango toyota and subaru both worked on this car

  • hm... IC. but why different manufacturers will come together making cars??

  • Chassis testing eh... I get the feeling they might make convertible version...

  • @ToyotaGT1Racer Convertables = shit

  • @LordFabs I agree to it. No AE86 Convertables then no FT86 Convertables now.

  • Toyobaruuuuuuu XD

Actually I believe the story was that Subaru didn't wish to share their AWD tech with Toyota, either that or RWD was cheaper and would put it in the price range that both companies were aiming for.

This will go into production as both a Toyota and a Subaru, RWD 2.0L...The only difference would be slight styling changes on the interior and exterior if anything. All technical specs will be the same between the two twin vehicles.

I can't wait to purchase one myself!

  • @OkamiNoYuri the story is incorrect, just FYI.

    Toyota owns:

    -Daihatsu (~51%)

-Fuji Heavy Industries -- Subaru (Toyota owns ~20%. Toyota bought this from GM in late 2005. )

    -Isuzu (5.9%, announced 7 Nov. 2006)

    -Lexus

    -Scion

    -Toyota

  • @OkamiNoYuri Actually, the name kind of tells you why it's rear wheel drive... Go look up AE86 perhaps

  • so I guess first non awd subaru?

  • @rtsoccerplayer there are many non-awd subaru's...

  • Back looks like a corrado.

  • The chassis didn't look composed at all on that mule. Very dicey on corner entry/exit. I'm sure they'll soon iron that out though and when you see the mule you just know its going to be made - makers generally don't go to those lengths to test a concept.

    As said - start saving.

  • ITS GOING INTO PRODUCTION!!!

    Boys, start saving!

  • @saadmanh

how do you know this?? cuz i need to know so i can start saving too lol

  • @saadmanh save also for tune this beast.....eheh.....

  • @saadmanh no need to save that much ih ear they trying to make this car affordable to the masses

  • @saadmanh im NOT going to save money !! saving money will take time ,,,

    IM TAKING LOAN !!

  • @saadmanh $673.67 in the AE86 fund has be redirected to the FT86 fund. xD

  • @saadmanh How much is the question?

  • @saadmanh HEY!! im a chick and i want it!! its gorgeous!!

  • Should be called a SubaYota

  • should i get toyota ft or subaru ft... RWD or AWD? Hard decision....

  • rwd if you like a drivers car, 4wd if you like traction

  • Looks way faster than a Camaro SS around the ring.

Which will be quicker between the Toyota and Subaru versions?

  • its the same car its just Subaru partnered with Toyota and is going to bring out a different version of the same car .. the red one everyone sees is the Toyota version and this is the Subaru version

  • engine sound´s great and looks very fast , i thing for the long of the hood is 4straight cylinder in vertical with RWD

  • @viziuz64 It's already been comfirmed that it's a Subaru sourced flat-four, with Toyota direct injection heads. Before you ask, the likely answer for why it doesn't sound like a Subaru is the way the exhaust is collected.

  • So Subaru is going to produce a non-AWD car? Cool.
