Continued Comment-I was addicted to this show in my mid teens. The characters of this show were very compelling, and not a bunch of military folks but real people who often didn't get along-which just served to make them more interesting. But for me, the best part of the show was the bickering, humorous relationship between Rand and Rook. I really identified with Rand, being a redhead and an outdoorsman, and the tomboyish Rook was, to my teenage perceptions, the perfect girl. Thanks for posting!
The New Generation was far and away my favorite of the three Robotech show. the other two, in particular Robetech Masters, were a bit too repetitive. But the New Generation, with the long journey from the pampas of Argentina all the way to the Lower Great Lakes, with a definite goal (destroying Reflex Point) was always entertaining and there was a sense of events leading toward something big. Plus it didn't take place aboard space ships or in bases, but in real environments. This show ruled!
I like rand and Rook too.. They are cute and cool. I wondering when anyone of movies directors will bring Macross, Robotech or mospeada to live movie.. If anyone has link to a hollywood director, please suggest them see macross then they shall know y people so in love with this old anime. then probably they would come up with a macross live movie like transformers.
It actually makes sense to me that (in Robotech) Lancer wrote this song. Here's why: in Robotech: The Movie, during the scene where Mark sneaks into the TV studio to find Eve, a man who looks a lot like Lancer walks by him. One of Eve's songs, "Underground", is a duet with Michael Bradley. Given that The New Generation is set in in 2034 and the movie is set in 2027, that man could in fact be Lancer at the beginning of his singing career. (Continued)
In this same TV studio, a music video of this song (performed by the band Three Dog Night) is being filmed. So if we assume that Lancer is in fact working at that studio as a musician, it's entirely possible that he could have written the song.
P.S. I really like this video. Rand is my favorite character in The New Generation.
amazing video I love this two were one of my fav robotech coupels with Sera and Lancer and of course Rick and Lisa I like Zor Prime and Dana Sterling from the masters too
(Per Eternity Comics): backstory--Rand is the son of Rev. Summerville--a religious cult leader/anti alien zealot holding sway in North America. He escapes his father with the help of Maj. Carpenter(Jupiter Mission--Robotech masters) & wanders South America. Rook is the daughter of Maj. John Bartley, Col Wolff's second in command, who had a falling out with wolf after the 1st battloe of Reflex Point, left the service to reunite with his wife 7 2 daughters & become the Mayor of Trenchtown.

Nice video. I was thinking of doing a video for these two but I can't remember all the episodes that feature specific spotlight moments for them.
