it is similar but not same as rest stroke. You are not flexing your fingers too much in picado.

The action when you change your fingers in picado like hammering a nail.

Great video chica, ive been watching all ur videos and i really like them. For this technique do u need long nails? I play Bass guitar with my fingers, so im guessing its somewhat similar. But u let ur fingers bend and fall through to the next string. Great stuff hope to keep learning from u.

Very bad example for holding the guitar. Actually, you never do that on a bed with crossed legs, and you don't hold a flamenco guitar like you'd hold a pop guitar. You have to hold it more like a classical guitar, or, better, like «Sabicas», «Paco Pena» and the others, but never as showed in this video.

only CG makes a big deal out of guitar positioning. This is flamenco and its alot more loose. Most common is one leg over the other . . . I've seen excellent flamenco guitarists even hold their guitars like jazz guitarists.

there are two schools of flamenco: the CG / jazz influenced (PDL uses jazz stuff), and the original flamenco before all the classical stuff was added. This came from a player from the Pena club in US (back when it was the only 1 recognized by official Spain one).

Hello! About picado: Many people encourage practicing with i and m, m and i, i and a, a and i, m and a, a and m. This strengthens your fingers as a whole and makes your picado more solid. You need to also practice STACCATO (i.e. it should sound like this: "bip bip bip" rather than "bing bing bing") to make it more flamenco.

some guitarists use index and ring fingers for picado=) i think it doesn't really matter which couple of fingers you prefer. but i use i and m of course=) and a long time ago i used my index nail for playing solos lol but picado is much better
