So it looks like they changed Chief's shoulder armor, abdomen armor, and possibly his back armor. It would be so incredibly lame if there's reasonable explanation other than "we thought it would look cool". If Chief jumps out and Cortana doesn't bat an eye at him looking really different then I think there's something definitely wrong.
@sesestro Yeah, the damage to his chest armor, and it looks like that's still there. What I'm pointing to is that his armor is very different for no particular reason. Unless something weird/stupid happened, like alien nano-bots seeped through the glass (they're that small) of his cryo-chamber and modified his armor, then I just don't see any reason for it to be any different coming out of stasis from how it was when he went into stasis.
@sesestro "[F]ix"? I don't think "fix" is the right term. They didn't remove the battle damage Chief sustained in Halo 2, so it looks to me more like they're adding onto the armor he was already wearing rather than "fix[ing]" it. I don't mind this, but I do think it's kind of insane to put in different armor pieces when he's in cryogenic storage. I mean, John's frozen, he can't move, and Cortana sure as hell can't touch him, so it really doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
Why is Chief's armor different coming out of cryo-sleep from what it was when he was going into cryo-sleep. It looks like he's suddenly wearing Spartan football pads rather than MJOLNIR Armor. Are the players now suddenly afforded the ability to make the series' main protagonist look like a twit?
*Sigh* I hope 343 doesn't stick with this model. I hope they keep Chief looking like Chief. Or at the very least give some canon reason for the weird-ass change.
@Influx27 well, remember the chief in the anniversary trailer? He looked weird, but yet 343i changed him. If they released the trailer for Anniversary a few months before release, and had the time to change chief to look awesome, I'm sure within the time that the trailer was released to the release date they will fix his suit becasue all of the fans will be wanting him to be changed enough to satisfy the community.
Hmm How Many Records Will Halo 4 Break?

@Influx27 It's CGI, they most likely tried to make it look cooler, I personally thought it looked neat.
