And as I said, it adds additional taxes to items that are healthcare related, such as a 40% tax on health insurance plans the government deems as being too protective, a $50,000 tax on hospitals not meeting new standards, a tax on pharmaceutical companies who're selling more, tax on medical device manufacturers, tax on administrative costs of insurance, and that's only a few of the ones effecting healthcare related items.
I don't like the mandate idea at all but with insurance companies not being allowed to drop people that's less uninsured people passing on costs to the insured. That's one of the main costs of healthcare right now. One of the other main costs is the fact that on average over 30% of health insurance costs are pure administrative overhead costs (i.e. profit for shareholders).

And the costs of administration are certainly not 30%. I've refuted this once already, though unfortunately I do not recall the source. For someone who was calling for national healthcare, this was too much, even though Medicare was over 9%.

And as I said, it adds additional taxes to items that are healthcare related, such as a 40% tax on health insurance plans the government deems as being too protective, a $50,000 tax on hospitals not meeting new standards, a tax on pharmaceutical companies who're selling more, tax on medical device manufacturers, tax on administrative costs of insurance, and that's only a few of the ones effecting healthcare related items.

I don't like the mandate idea at all but with insurance companies not being allowed to drop people that's less uninsured people passing on costs to the insured. That's one of the main costs of healthcare right now. One of the other main costs is the fact that on average over 30% of health insurance costs are pure administrative overhead costs (i.e. profit for shareholders).

And the costs of administration are certainly not 30%. I've refuted this once already, though unfortunately I do not recall the source. It turns out that only about 6%, at most, of costs in private insurance go for administration. For someone who was calling for national healthcare, this was too much, even though Medicare was over 9%.

People would have less incentive to take care of themselves, since they'll get healthcare for "free" (not counting the fixed premium they're required to pay).

Having to pay for insurance is hardly getting anything for free. Even in a single-payer system the insurance is still your own money. You're simply paying for a government insurance program instead of a private one. That's part of why I dislike the phrase "free healthcare". No such thing, even in a nationalized system.

The only reason the Federal Reserve is printing money is because we are accepting that money. You need to learn a thing or two. FYI, the Federal Government never had the authority to delegate the printing of money to a private bank. 1913 -remember that year, it's a sad one.

The decline in a currency's value will eventually become apparent as a general rise in the the prices of goods, services and labor. However, these price changes occur simply as a reaction to the fall in the currency's value (or sometimes in anticipation of that fall). And why does the value of money fall?

The claim that political parties are pulling the nation apart is naive. People have values, and far more than not values tend to cluster into 2 camps. A 3rd party won't fix anything and calls for unity is code to silence disagreement.
3rd parties are pie in the sky.

Acceptance of the 2 party system is not to claim it's a joyous process that succeeds even half the time. It's merely the confronting of reality. If the two parties were magically disbanded, the next morning 2 new parties would immediately begin to form. Why? Because one is impossible because that's false agreement, and 3 is too many because the party it's most similar to would absorb it anyway.
Working with what we have is better than wasting effort on hollow pursuits.

Accepting the 2 party system has less to do with it and more to do with human nature. Humans are hard-wired to be tribal, "us vs. them", the enemy of my enemy is my friend... I'm not defending it, I'm simply recognizing the real world. Your grudge isn't politics, it's humanity.
Having said that, I still believe there are battles worth fighting instead of sitting them out to pout about the method.
