Fender versus Gibson.

Hey man, great rev. You said around 6:57 that you can show can to get a Gibson sound out of a Strat. Well, sir, if you do have that answer to the question of my life, I'd like to know the answer!!! (Love the strat feel but would like to take as much brightness out of it as I can, 'cause I like the darker tones you can get out of an LP or SG. Nothing compares to the versatility and comfort of a Strat, though). Please answer!!! Or send me an e-mail!!! Anything!!!

This is not Gibson vs Fender. This is Epiphone vs Squier. The cheaper line of Fender vs Gibson's.

@FinalFantasyCenter Don't compare Squier with Epiphone :), Squier are copys, Epiphone is a brand with their own guitars, sometimes with more advanced technology than the Gibsons, check the new Epiphone Les Paul Ultra III.

@MrGoldenStrike Epiphone is a brand owned by Gibson. The only brand that has the license to copy Gibson's guitars with great detail. Epiphone is Gibson's cheaper line. But i don't care. I've never played epiphones, and don't plan to.

EVH had it right he just stuck a humbucker in the bridge and got the fat sounds for his killer sounds. A strat with a HSS configuration with split coils is the winner. It is just designed better With the HSS config you can play almost any style. Break a neck don't like a neck ? Unbolt it yourself and swap it out. Can't do that on a paul. The Les paul is a dinosaur and the only thing it's got is its looks. The better performer is the strat always was and always will be.
