Have u lied? Have u stolen? Jesus said if you look at a women with lust you have committed adultery with here in your heart?

If God judge’s u by the Ten Commandments will u be innocent or guilty? Does this concern you? The Bible says despise the value of your eye compared to the value of your soul. would u sell your i for a million dollars? And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. needgod.com

  • @standingontruth1 what the hell are you on about

  • I love the way he does covers for most of his songs. Helps out a lot <3

  • can anyone tell me the time signatures for this song

  • @sumdude96 4 bars of 7/8, except the second one which is 4/4.

    In other words:

    7/8 - 4/4 - 7/8 - 7/8

    And loop :)

  • @hyphen8nick thanks man

  • Portnoy always has the best sounding snares.

  • If they ever make another Rocky movie, they must use this as the training montage music!

  • oh that bass groove is awesome

  • al principio creia que esta cancion era de dream theater pero apesar de todo es super uena y para el fin del 2011 ya tendremos un cover de la cancion (y yo toco bateria =D)

  • que buen tema loco

    PD 4 sordos

  • tell me that transtion after 2:00 doesnt give anyone else a boner

  • i love that ending

  • Daney Carey is better

  • @llawevets not even close.

  • @chaveznieves he is very close. I wouldnt say better but he is definetely close to him

  • @llawevets hahah ! great joke.. hahaha u made my day. ;)

  • fucking awsesomeoeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i wanna that mike portnoy live forever and he never die physically ,because i want to listen him all my life , BUT his a human

  • @vincecu1 Actually, if he can play like that I don't think he is... perhaps people like mike and Jojo Meyer are a race of super drummer aliens from that planet we just discovered that looks like it could inhabit human life called gleise 583 G or whatever

  • i love the head-swinging thing he does 3:25

  • Comment removed

  • gutted hes join a7x, cant stand them

  • easily some of portnoys best work is when hes doin his side project with liquid tension expariment...even better the most of the stuff he does with DT. So creative, so awesome.

  • @CapitalES Seriously man, I nearly popped a blood vessel when people said 'Mike Portnoy can't cut it in Avenged Sevenfold'... Regardless Mike Portnoy is my all time favorite because of his talent.

  • I love the sound of that snare!!!

  • LOLWTF?! 3:09. 3:25.... ROFLCOPTERCAKES!!!

  • PLEASE CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THAT HUMUNGUS CHINA IS? :D

  • Sort of off topic, but I never realized how good looking Portnoy is. If he lost some weight and went for the clean shaven look he could look like a Hollywood actor, not that I'd want that, but I'm just saying.

  • Me he dado cuenta luego, fallo mio, se me ha ido la olla.

  • @faragatanfarra lol so here we go universal mind.

  • the version of this song i downloaded has way more of an intro is this like halfway through?

  • @imsorry And you spend far too much time smoking crack trollerboy!!!

  • @imsorry And yet you still spend ALL your time watching his videos!!!

  • someone is sipping on some haterade!

  • your a faggot... have fun swollowen cock

  • holy shit epic burst at 0:43 badass!!

  • I jizzed when Mike came in with the little bass intro you can only hear in this video.

  • Man it's awesome to see a video that's not filled with (alot) of hater's and basher's comments who are jealous cuz after this they feel like giving up on life, sometimes that can be me lol he makes this look so easy!

  • I love the way Portnoy can step into any groove. What a precise percussionist. Some people think he is too much like his predecessors. I think he was ahead of his time. The whole band is so musically scary it's sick.

  • I can play the bit at the start, its so damn catchy, I listened to it and was like damn! I'm stealing that thanks portnoy rofl.

  • how the fuck do u go from a little island groove to a circus song lick and make it sound good?!?!?!?!?!

  • he just makes it look too easy! i hope *some* of the drummers inspired by Mike to start, end up going through with their training and disciplines. it would be well worth it! i'm a guitarist, and have accepted the fact I'll never drum like this (or play like Petruccilol)

  • I think this is from 10 Degrees of Turbulent Drumming, but I'm not sure.

  • This is from Liquid Drum Theater.

  • Oooh, ok. I wasn't sure.

  • @chaimpo liquid tension experiment... actually

  • @chaimpo

There's no such thing as Liquid Drum Theater, fool!

This is Liquid Tension Experiment II (Mike Portnoy, John Petrucci, Jordan Rudes, Tony Levin).

    Think first, write second.

  • @myrro666 bla blabla blabla bla bla bla (just thinking what to say to you :P)

  • @myrro666 wow man, you really fucked yourself on that one.

  • @fabjtown12

    no biggy

  • @myrro666 dude this is a dvd man, its called liquid drum theater, maybe you should follow your own advice a bit

  • @myrro666 Hahaha, what a FAIL.

  • @myrro666 dum.... liquid drum theater is the name of the dvd... for godsake!

Frist think then write... ppl like you make me mad ur so stupid!

  • @chaimpo its from liquid drum theater

  • @pekisi ? no necesito que me lo aclaren.

  • @chaimpo y para que preguntas (?)

  • @pekisi cuando he preguntado nada gil? si tengo el dvd hace años. Aprende a leer

  • @Ziabach щщщ

  • @punkrockdrummer1990

thats probly because (judging by your name) you listen to punk. which pretty much only has one type of drum beat. lrn2prog

  • god....dont stereostype,....i rekon i could do way more than you....dont forget how i got to the video.....dont always resort to being such a gimp to help you wak 1 out,

good day to you sir ;)

  • actually thats not stereotyping thats whats called negative assumption. and i reckon* that you couldn't do better than me :)

  • Ahhhhhh.... Oh my Liquid Tension Experiment has some of my favorite songs ever. I'm a piano player by the way

  • Nice man as am i ... as well as drummer and ur right the piano in LTE is a nice lil thing to have fun with!!

  • What DVD is this from?

  • liquid drum theater

  • aaaaAAAAaaAAA !! :D

  • Portnoy is no doubt awesome, but I've always liked his ability to expand the beat...this is a perfect example.

  • :D god damn. best bands ever. Dream Theater & Liquid Tension Experiment. so good, they had to make two.

  • xD right!!!

  • FUCKING AWESOME TIGHT DRUMSET!

  • if you guys want odd times listen to porcupine tree and gavin harrison the drummer

  • to put 7/8 in perspective, the guitar solo section in rush's "tom sawyer" is in 7/8

  • haha listen to any song and theres a 7/8 section

  • I truly hope ur being sarcastic

  • do you really think that rush never uses 7/8?

  • ya listen to every single band on the radio and there's is not 1.,...I guarantee not one section with an odd time signature besides 3/4. How could u even have the nerve to say every song has a 7/8 section

  • Every single band? I was talking about rush dummy, not every single band on the radio.

  • k well it makes sense now. and rush fuckin great band

  • 7/8 isn't that odd at all. Just take away an 8th note from 4/4... simple as that. Especialy compared to Dream Theater and LTE using 5/16 and 7/16 and such.

  • 'Odd meter' means that it's in a meter with an odd number of beats, eg 3/4, 5/4, 3/8, 7/8, 9/8, etc. It doesn't refer to how commonly it is used (though all odd meter is used fairly infrequently, as demonstrated by the fact that one of the biggest requirements for the 'progressive' tag is the use of odd meter.)

  • OOHhhh, lol. My bad. Learn something new every day I guess.

  • any one know what kinda ride he uses cause its nice

  • hh rock ride

  • the last piano/guitar fill and those two shots is soooooooooooooo fucking spastic ink.

  • 7/8 is the shit. its my favorite of time signatures.

by the way any time signature is easy once you practice it.

i'm comfortable enough in 7/8 that i can jam it out with friends and its like 4/4.

  • That sounds like a good t-shirt.

"Jam out in 7/8 like its in 4/4!"

  • Hey, it's my favorite too :P. It seems to be the most common in Prog. It's not really complicated to play, but it has a really cool sound to it.

  • dude whats wrong with you? what is so average in 7/8 or whatever time signature?

  • do it

  • geniale

  • Comment removed

  • mike portnoy is the best, thats all

  • precise

  • ha I loved the ending.

How tight are those toms !!

  • if you're referring to the two high drums next to the hi-hat, they aren't toms, they are Latin Percussion (LP) timbalitos. they are very high pitched because they are made of metal and don't have bottom heads on them.

  • Ah look like toms at glance. Can't really see enough of them.

  • Comment removed

  • yes not special at all dude stop being jealous

  • True, I can't really say I know much about the details of shit. But I suppose you do, eh?

    And Portnoy is godlike.

  • Yeah and that's why he is voted number 18 on digitaldreamdoors 100 most skilled drummers right? You dumb shit.

  • And yeah, ofc hes shit when hes one of the most award winning and respected drummers of all time - go listen to noobs like Jordison and Barker meh

  • Comment removed

  • He's no Gavin Harrison, but he adds to the music very integrally.

  • listen to Mike Portnoy, he's a fucking genius drummer. DREAM THEATER!!!

  • theyre both fuckin sick, i cant decide who i like better.

  • does anyone know how he takes his sticks in his hand? like his pinky at the end or like 1 centimeter before it

  • Comment removed

  • he has to be my favourite drummer atm. i don't like his band, but just his style is like no other. i could watch this video all day.

  • same here. hes amazing

  • im not a big fan of portnoy....but that reggae groove at the end was sweet :)

  • Mike Portnoy is one of the bisggest guys how playes drums, this dude is awsome, and his drum its insane, Mike Portnoy ROCKS (H)

  • I love the first rhythm and his drums has very good sound primarily double bass... :-)

  • what about the rock ride?i heard that cymbal sounds great..

  • no one among progressive drummers will

surpass mike portnoy as a band drummer his drums patterns are very very very very very well elaborated and suits every song he s a drum machine // terrible Mike

  • that ride is amazing.. i love the sound of the bell

  • Yeah but you see that he dosen't use the felt(?) I don't know the english for word for it. "The anti keyhoel thing" xD

  • no not really, all i know is i like the sound. it does not ring out too long and it is an amazing sounding bell.. i want it..

  • You know those black dots under the cymbalscrew? He dosen't use that on the ride. Witch is a bit strange since it will damage the cymbal. But anyway, it's a nice ride. And i have one myself. It's a Sabian HandHammered rock ride?

  • ahh nice, i have one cymbal i hope lasts forever, it is amazing, it is a sabian HHX 10" splash, i love it, it adds a cool effect when i am playing

  • HHX are fine cymbals indeed!

  • i live hhx I might replace my crash with a nice evolution though, and i would like a raw bell dry ride..

  • yeah splashes are the best kind of cymbals

  • no china are better lol i think

  • oh yeah, for post-hardcore and stuff... but splash is cute :))

  • not entirely, i ride chinas (lol) sometimes for a cool effect in Jazz music, and they are just more used than splash. I mean, i would pick a china over a splash b/c it's more versatile u kno?

but yeah i love splashes too :p

  • oh ok :)) actually i don't have drums :))

  • Felt washers.

There are plastic sleeves that go around the peg to prevent key holing. He may be using those.

  • That's the word! Yeah maybe he is!

  • Symphony X get's pretty boring, as with John Romero's solos.

  • Don't you mean Michael Romeo? John Romero was one of the guys who made Wolfenstein 3D/Doom/Quake D:

  • m0pX , yes. your right... I'm a bit of a quaker.

    :D

  • between the burried and me or three. another two. if you like blottered go back to spastic ink. listen to some fucking yes too they kick ass. you can never leave out rush either. anglagard from sweden.

  • what are you guys talking about. dream theater is dope but if you want metal prog do your research. there is more out there than dream theater or opeth or symphony x. i suggest blottered science for instrumental mind fucking. cynic is good, maby textures although i dont dig the metal core vocals. just look around

  • Just letting u know m8. The music u r listening to is not "Dream theater" it's "Liquid Tension Experiment" another band that 3/5 of the DT musicians made. With "Stick" player Tony Levin.

  • you want Dream Theater to sound more metal...you should listen the Train of Though, it's gotta have their heaviest songs on it

  • Check out the band Symphony X, they are a progressive band like dream theater, but a little more on the heavy side. both bands are incredible.

  • This is Liquid Tension Experiment (Portnoy's Jazz Fusion/Progressive side project). Trust me, Dream Theater has enough super heavy metal songs to last them, for example: This Dying Soul The Glass Prison As I Am Constant Motion Panic Attack The Dark Eternal Night Honor Thy Father In The Name of God The Test That Stumped Them All The Mirror War Inside my Head Beyond This Life etc. etc.
  • dude we have very different veiws of what heavy metal

    is

im talking about lamb of god with jps crazy ass guitar solos and mike portnoy shredding on the drums that would awesome they would have a way bigger fan base

  • LOG is awesome.

  • log drums are sick man listen to some latin music

  • i love lamb of god.

  • bigger fan base =/= better music.

simpler music = bigger fan base (outside of musicians)

Progressive music = opposite of simple music

Need I bring up examples of disney boy bands, Britney Spears, Fall Out Boy etc. etc.

Also, If you want heavier progressive stuff, check out Opeth and Between the Buried and Me, they're basically DT gone death metal.

  • yes i know of otep and btbam

but those bands and im including symphony x

queensryche, nevermore and all those other bands still arent that great compared to dream theater in itself going death metal

complicated music with a simple edge

    and fuck disney

except for the black couldron that movie was trippy

  • this band is incredible, everyone is a fucking genius.

  • love this song

  • the ending is the fucking funniest part hahaha XD

  • very nice odd time signatures cool

  • Great song played by a great band!

    Mike Portnoy is my favorite!

  • thats a beast of a china

  • What a great song! Love Liquid Tension a lot!
