omg..... been a few years since i saw this lot :) we used to get soooooo mashed up ................. the tunes are inbedded in my brain for ever :) hahaha ...... good carefree times xXx
I thought i'll never be able to see them live....but i'm moving to london this year AND I CAN!!! HAHAHAA I'M GONNA SMOKE A FUCKING JOINT WHEN THE CONCERT BEGINS
@thieverycorp24 When they're waling out, the song is called 'Chinatype' off the 'Afterswish' collection. Let's see Ed's wife come up with a bassline like the one in 'Oddentity' at 3:28.
check out Melting Euphoria. They are very similar to Ozric Tentacles. I also want to recommend to you Michael Tsarion on the youtube. He is the worlds premier conspiracy author/lecturer. Leo Zagami, Dr. Bill Deagle, Alan Watt, Jordan Maxwell and Alexandre Dumas pere are conpiracy experts of good quality.
How was the lineup? First time I saw them in Finland it was like on this vid, Jon on flute, Seaweed on keys etc., just great! Last time in Roadburn, a couple of years ago, Ed's wife on the bass there, the gig wasn't that convincing.
I saw them @ Glasto Fest in '92 and loved them ever since. Funny how things turn out, I met and worked with the guy that did their visuals for this tour, Magic Mike - Mental Projections. I sat back stage with Ozrics @ the Phoenix in Exeter and they cracked me up big time.
Cool. Loved them since 80s, wish i`d met them then, i was offered tickets when they came to sheffield and backed by none other than the magic mushroom band, but i was too lunched out to go, say no more, kicked myself ever since
What an excellent band. I heard them for the first time on US radio, on XM 76 Satellite. It may indeed be the only american airplay they get, far as I know. Too bad really; then again I think the spoiled American music scene (currently, perhaps irretreivably) is far too manufactured and disposable. Lets keep this gem to ourselves and fans who get it, yes? :)
they were incredible live. especially cos i was backstage with eds son and they gave me free weed and beers. theyre such safe lovely guys and theyre musical genius's!!!!
thank you ozerics for being so awesome..
im gunna jam with his son on saturday and then to the pub :D. well looking forward
Can't speak for the keyboards....but Dream Theater's legendary drummer Mike Portnoy is a BIG fan of Ozric Tentacles....he even has a copy of the incredibly scarce "Vitamin Enhanced" cereal box-set that was recalled.
I fucking love these guys! I've been listening to the Ozrics for almost 15 years now. What a fun life those dudes have. Thanks for posting this video.
Jeez brings back memories. I have a couple of tapes lying at the bottom of a drawer waiting to be digitised or a trip back to Blighty to get a CD of some description
Yeah, its on the new cd, also if you got to their Myspace and dig about a bit (you'll see what i mean) you can find a decent snippet of it. Its a great tune.
As a huge Rush fan, I have to say I don't find them better than the Ozrics, just different. There is a subtlety and craftmanship to the Ozrics' arrangements that don't always catch the ear first time around; the same could be said for Rush, though some of their music is more readily accessible than the Ozrics'. Some Ozrics numbers take time to develop, but they reward the patient listener. Like Rush, the Ozrics are also first-rate musicians, and we are lucky to have both bands.
Too bad this drummer is now playing in Courtney Love's Hole :(

The first part is an improv jam intro, I think. The second part is the song "Oddentity."
If you like this, you can't go wrong with anything they've done since the cassette-only release days.
Pellaz2112 3 years ago
the very first part is the introduction to "chinatype".
ps... the cassette only releases were the band at their best... IMHO!!
