I find it hard to believe that one million dollars of our donations went to create this 30-second ad. The point of using doctors and nurses was to hear what they had to say based on their experiences. The ad should have shown a group of doctors and nurses briefly talking about one or two experiences to underscore the importance of passing reform. Instead, the ad had one nurse and one "way-too-young-looking" doctor simply saying that our system is broken and that people should tell Congress.

Americans pay 17% of GNP into health care but do not cover or under cover 65 million. Other countries pay 5-6% of GNP and cover EVERYONE. Corporate corruption and greed provide the main difference, the rest is due to inefficiency and maladaptive practices, artificial shortage of doctors, employment conditions that discourage nurses from entering the profession, etc.

A public option is what they are talking about which is public health insurance, we may not be able to do the ENTIRE health reform, but insurance at this point is more feasible then a full scale reform at the moment because yes we are in a bit of debt and we do need to get out of it, THEN we reform health care to universal.

You can go to a Private college, or you can go to a Public college. Both provide a very similar quality education, BUT the Public system is much cheaper. IT IS THE SAME SYSTEM! You can still have the Private Insurance you grew up with, but now you have a public option!

I work at a drug store. There is this woman age 40-60 that comes in, can barely walk. has cancer, a wrecked immune system and has trouble breathing. She is already in 60,000$ in debt and her insurance keeps denying her. I estimate she has maby a year and a half left alive. I had a kidney transplant and triple bypass surgery. What do you think that cost me? Think about what if you needed this and could not afford it. I was fortunate because I am a vet and was able to get this. But I also got a copy for all the procedures. Think about it, we need reform now.

I am not even covered and if I broke my arm I couldn't afford to go in the emergency room! I might of had the swine flu and I couldnt go to the doctor! I am just a kid and I cant get any medical help! My dad is a working man who makes a more than decent amount, but its just so scary for me this past year, he went without a job for awhile and then when he got one we still had to save every penny. I had blue cross for 12 years and I had a 401k for a time. I guess my working life (besides the business) has been since I was 16 until the year 2000. Before that I worked for other companies, sometimes covered sometimes not.. It'd be hard to do the math now but I definately helped rather than hurt the system. Most of my friends in the industry are the same with a couple of exceptions. its a healthy trade, lots of exercise unlike many many unhealthy office type enviroments, but the work is hard

I am the one, and many like me, who end up never at the doctor because my work keeps me healthy and outdoors in the fresh air. I get penalized for being that guy, until you are in business and pushing 50 years old and have rarely been sick or needy then I dont believe you can relate.Thats the liberal problem, they cant relate too me on that level and cant even understand what it takes. At my age and never been sick, if I get sick now I've barely dented what some of these unhealthy people have done too the health care system already. Cancer, heart attacks lol.. You have never had insurance. So how can you say you are not a burden. I have paid into the pot for fifteen years (15 times $7,000 is $105,000 paid so far) and I have Never needed to use my coverage because I too am healthy.

Well, I'd have to go thru my history, I've not always owned a business but still have never been sick. I have paid tons of cash and never taken back, same with unemployment.
I think if you look back a ways you'll see that I've been in business for 10 years, I'm almost 49 years old. So as you see I spent the first entire half of my life paying and healthy.

Since I dont cover myself on the insurance I spent 10 grand at the dentist last year of my hard earned cash because I had too. I couldnt write it off on my taxes, not one penny of it. Nor will I be able to write off the continuing visits I had to do this year. Why hasnt the wonderful Obama changed that? I am not rich, lets get that straight. Business owner does not=rich or even well off. This year I will barely break even and still cannot write off cash medical. That needs too change too!

Of course I take care of my employees as best I can. My lowest paid man has been making18.00 an hour and he has health benefiets but no retirement. Highest paid guy makes 25.00 and makes underbid bonus all the time, none have retirement including me. I cleared 65,000.00 last year, employees make the rest and I'm out throwing dirt or running equip with all of them.

I find it hard to believe that one million dollars of our donations went to create this 30-second ad. The point of using doctors and nurses was to hear what they had to say based on their experiences. The ad should have shown a group of doctors and nurses briefly talking about one or two experiences to underscore the importance of passing reform. Instead, the ad had one nurse and one "way-too-young-looking" doctor simply saying that our system is broken and that people should tell Congress.

Americans pay 17% of GNP into health care but do not cover or under cover 65 million. Other countries pay 5-6% of GNP and cover EVERYONE. Corporate corruption and greed provide the main difference, the rest is due to inefficiency and maladaptive practices, artificial shortage of doctors, employment conditions that discourage nurses from entering the profession, etc.

Not a problem 1: universal health care is public and non-profit, the government wouldn't profit from it because they are using tax dollars to help us and will not profit from it one bit. I work at a drug store. There is this woman age 40-60 that comes in, can barely walk. has cancer, a wrecked immune system and has trouble breathing. She is already in 60,000$ in debt and her insurance keeps denying her. I estimate she has maby a year and a half left alive. I am not even covered and if I broke my arm I couldn't afford to go in the emergency room! I might of had the swine flu and I couldnt go to the doctor! I am just a kid and I cant get any medical help! My dad is a working man who makes a more than decent amount, but its just so scary for me this past year, he went without a job for awhile and then when he got one we still had to save every penny. I had blue cross for 12 years and I had a 401k for a time. I guess my working life (besides the business) has been since I was 16 until the year 2000. Before that I worked for other companies, sometimes covered sometimes not.. It'd be hard to do the math now but I definately helped rather than hurt the system. Most of my friends in the industry are the same with a couple of exceptions. its a healthy trade, lots of exercise unlike many many unhealthy office type enviroments, but the work is hard

I am the one, and many like me, who end up never at the doctor because my work keeps me healthy and outdoors in the fresh air. You have never had insurance. So how can you say you are not a burden. I have paid into the pot for fifteen years (15 times $7,000 is $105,000 paid so far) and I have Never needed to use my coverage because I too am healthy.

Define "reform" anyway? Couldnt reform be in the form of regulation of business instead of hostile takeover? My business is heavily regulated by the state atleast and heavily taxed by the feds.
Will the feds take over my business too someday and decide that we are all better off with the government doing the building?

Yea, 3 of my guys have insurance but its not the best I'll admit. They make good money though too and are all healthier than most of this "chair sitting" whining America. My workers and I never visit the doctor, if someone does its probably an on the job accident since its construction work. I havent even had a claim in quite a while, Do you get that?
I hate insurance companies and lawyers but we need them both. I dont want government running any of it thats all, we can regulate them though!

That is how it should be.

I know I know, but 2 employee's actually opted out (younger guys) after it being offered because some of it comes out of their own checks too.
Yes I do have kids, 2.. one 13 and one grown and self sufficient. The 13 year old is covered but I am not. I'm divorced, mom has my 13 year old but its all a good relationship, I shoe him, clothe him, pay pay pay for him etc.. lol...
I definately do understand. And I understand we need to care for those who just cant, but I dont like HOW its being done

* Amend the laws, which protect the incompetent doctors from getting sued.
* Make the health care providers list their charges, so patients can compare with other health care providers. (Deductibles, labor, beds, etc)
* Empower a NON-PROFIT organization to provide Public Option Insurance, instead of corrupt Washington run insurance. President you might not be corrupt, but your friends are!
* Open State lines, so insurance companies can compete.

Of course I take care of my employees as best I can. My lowest paid man has been making18.00 an hour and he has health benefiets but no retirement. Highest paid guy makes 25.00 and makes underbid bonus all the time, none have retirement including me. While I see where you are heading with this and you figure I'm making it big off the backs of others, its just not the case. I cleared 65,000.00 last year, employees make the rest and I'm out throwing dirt or running equip with all of them.
