Yeah. I know tons of girls that watch soccer just because they like soccer. I know plenty of girls that play yugioh. Maybe they were asking you to try to see if you were a real fan or if you just watched for guys, not like... "Clearly she just watches for the guys" but like "Oh, I wonder if she's serious and cool about it..." Maybe? I dunno. That'd offend me less obviously. I'm not really bothered by guys being surprised that I play videogames, but I know tons of girls that do. :P

I used to have a gf who was on a counterstrike team, she regularly shot me in the head. I remember she was really touchy about stereotypes, even if they were just jokes and no one meant it. Ppl didn't like her as much because she was always so uptight about it!

Until the entire world changes, I don't think you should let it bother you, most ppl aren't stereotyping because they're purposely being douchebags.

Besides guys get stereotyped everyday! --> must be strong, manly, etc.

It's nice to see someone who actually interested in the beautiful game and not doesn't just watch it because they think that cristiano renaldo is so yummy. And, I agree, he should be in gymnastics the way he dives. Also, vidogames are cool. = )

All true, but it's just the nature of small minded people....you have to remember, even though you're at university, a lot of these people haven't been ANYWHERE, or done ANYTHING in their lives. The total of their experiences is no more than 'hang'n' with their friends. Just be you, and don't let what their preconceived notions of who you should be, bother you. And besides, don't you enjoy the feeling when you take the controller, and proceed to whip their asses~ LoL!

My friend's little bother trains with the Spain team. He's only 17 and started with them about two years ago. Another person I know also started playing professionally with like a team in Trinidad, I believe. I'm not really a soccer fan, but they do have my envy and support. :P

I like when I play video games with guys, then they get mad when I beat them and they have to find some random excuse for it. My excuse is that I beat them with my epic hax skills. Girl gamers = Win

Spain National Team is awesome. Do you know any Spanish? Have you ever been to Spain? I consider myself a gamer too, but I'm not overly competitive or anything. I know a handful of girl gamers and, much like you, they sometimes get upset they are judged by guys. Do you play anything other than Wii? What would you say is your favorite game?
