  • Can anyone tell me where I can find sheet for this piece? I have looked in the HARVARD GLEE CLUB song book to no avail.

  • (and God bless F. John Adams!)

  • I say . . . does anyone have some footage/sound of this glorious piece sung, full-hearted and full-throated, in Cambridge, Mass., outdoors in some June? Please share it with us hungry community!

  • You know what, I love this piece, and it's actually the my college's "school song", but whenever I Google or YouTube search "domine salvum fac" by Gounod, I get a completely different piece, and this seems not to exist. Where on earth did you find this? Beloit College has used this for over a century, but there's no opus number on our edition of the music. Did Gounod write two settings of this?

  • @baroqueboy

Look in the Harvard Glee Club song book. That's where I found it.

  • I remember a prayer (of the old times):

Oremus pro Re Publica et Praeside eius!

So I would interpret the lyric as

Salvum fac Praesidem chief, president) Nostrum

  • huh that not the domine salvam by gounod....
