Boris Berezovsky — Chopin/Godowsky Etude in G flat major

I used to hear my Grandpa go over these works, to hear them again brings back fond memories and Thank You. My Grandpa studied with Leopold Godowsky, His name was Gilmour

Well maybe if you specified how "playing it like a Czerny exercize" is supposed to sound? It can't be the usual "like a soulless exercise" meaning, as this performance surely uses very obvious and glaring stylistic devices to make it feel musical and alive.

Although I am a huge fan of Berezovsky, I feel he plays Godowsky's version a little too slow. However, the phrasing in both is flawless, something that isn't surprising coming from Berezovsky.

It's amazing how Berezovsky brings new interest for such a popular piece like this one. There are so many recordings, and still he's interpretations sounds "new", like "improvised". Thaks for posting!!

I always love his tecnique: when I see him playing every piece seems so easy to play! but his musicality is nonsense. Than etude is horribly boring.

A very very very not easy piece that i play be4, it is the most difficult piece of every piece, i think!!!!!! i use 3 month to learn it but still cannot play well... :'( ... buy... he really Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really excellent!!!! Super GOOD!!!!! NICE!!!!!!!!!!!! compare to me, feel that i'm just an ant.......
