This video is irrelevant to actual GTX 295 benchmarks. Reasons:

1. Video memory was detected so low because for whatever reason on a driver end or the authors end, SLI was not enabled and/or being used.

2. GTA IV is an extremely CPU stressed game; A 9800 GTX w/ the same processor will have the same results as a GTX 295 or even more intense GPU because the CPU always end up to be the bottlenecks. I dont know why, thats just the way it is.

3. Why post a near beta benchmark if SLI isn't supported?

GTA IV only uses one GPU, that's it. dual GPU cards only one is used. SLI configs only one GPU, very poorly optimized for PC. Episodes from liberty city fixed this it supports SLI and dual GPU cards.

You make a shortcut to LaunchGTAIV.exe and add -norestrictions -nomemrestrict after it. Then you will get all the GTX295's 1792MB memory . Don't forget to log into that stupid rockstar thing first.

Most likely, this game is highly dependant on the cpu and demands a quadcore - but only an i7-rig will really run this game smooth.

Well...i understand,but i know that i should use on vista sp1 to run it..and sp3 on xp also when i tried to install it says that i don't have a o.s. compatible with %P ( i think this means XP ) and my PC can not install my sp1 for vista it says. Vista is fine, but Windows 7 is better. But the game would eat a little more than 3GB memory so I'd recommend that you install 4GB ram or more and run the game on Windows 7 X64 .

Reason why it only shows half your ram because REALLY that's all you have! . The 1st gen 295 is 2 PCBs on 1 heatsink. 1 card has 900mbs or ram, the other card's ram never gets used. NO LIE.

The 2nd gen 295 gtx is 1 PCB (1 card with everything on it) so I think all the ram would get utilized. Im not exactly sure but I remember reading something about this.

the reason it only picks up 875 is because 875 is just under half of the total video memory. this happends when you dont have the latest patch that supports multiple gpu's

The reason you only get the 875 is because the total video memory IS 875.

Most companies 'double' the memory since there's infact 1792mb's of memory because there are two cards with 875 mb's of memory.

But all data gets synched, which includes the memory, therefore one only sees 875 mb's. This is not cured by a patch, since it's not a bug.

He's probably getting 60FPS only because of the vsync (see beginning of video, he's turned it on). It syncs the screen updates with the monitor refresh rate, and on LCD monitors that's usually 60Hz. That means the frame rate will be capped at 60. So if you turn it off, the frame rate should go higher. No reason to, though, as a stable 60 FPS gives a great playing experience!
