  • maybe it's just me, but that doesn't look that incredibly fast. I mean, he'd throw out anybody I know with seconds to spare, but doesn't look like the incredible hype I've heard about. But what do I know, if I saw him in person not just a video, it'd probably look like Jesus.

  • he is awesome

  • though ill gove him his respects because he a great baseball player, but he's not bigger than the game. Straighten out your cap kid.

  • @5lightgernades What's wrong with his cap?

  • He threw down a consistent 1.8... damn.

  • @orangesslices i thought the same thing

  • I'm really old and widely known as the most talented/magic human being ever. Google me my names Jesus.

  • he looks better at short the outfield or catcher

  • Bryce is a hardass. His attitude will get the best of him.. I played with him for three years i know.

  • @iTzReFlExx your just mad that he got drafted and you didnt

  • wait a minute ur tellin me dis kid was 15 in dis vid!!! crazy

  • @graymarcus2 yeah human growth hormones do wonders don't they?

  • @IIh1tm4nII haha gott thatt righttt!! dudee im 15 nd im like 5'5 but datss shorttt.. lol.. but come onnn how nd da hell can u be 15 nd be 6'3 nd weigh 220

  • press and hold 8 and bryce is golfing

  • he looks better at shortstop then actual short stops

  • @MegaBaseball29 I disagree he double taps easy throws and does not look comfortable at all. He is obviously athletic and rangy but SS does not appear like a good position. I think they have him playing outfield in the minors because of his speed. But dude is a very gifted catcher and a dynamic hitter.

  • Nice Outfield

  • @lolygro field keeper probably bailed out on them the last half of the season

  • Everyone looks shitty at these tryouts

  • Field Looks Like Shit

  • he sucks

  • there is a 15 year old in the Dominican Republic who is better than him

  • i got a thangfrom under armour in the mail tryen out for the national team in houston

  • @piland492 haha me to man ive gotten the letter twice r u any good?

  • @piland492 Almost every person gets one of those letters, and you didn't or aren't going to tryout for any national team that's compeltely different, that's the under armour all america game, you got an invite to goto the underaarmour baseball factory showcase congratulations for getting an invite.......... even though it's open to anyone over 12

  • @TheSFGIANTSFAN

Yeah man I went to a few of these I was invited to but a few things to consider are, game ready are you at the top of your game right now, desire, and experience. I wouldnt know if you have been to a pro style showcase but they are different then alot of other things you will experience.

  • i can do thaaaat!

    pshhhhh

    lol

  • This is a pretty shitty field for a high school.

  • I'm honored that my school's name is harper college

  • I got invited for a tryout for this but I feel like i'm not good enough. Anyone gone that could give advice?

  • @TheSFGIANTSFAN yeah you should quit right now cuz you'll never make it with that attitude, you have to be confident to play any sport and go out and play your best wihtout worrying about making a mistake

  • @TheShitKicker1 well shit...I just asked for advice, not somebody to tell me to quit.

  • @TheSFGIANTSFAN i was just saying man you cant think like that or youll never be good enough

  • wat glove is he using ?

  • really smooth at short' except for that back hand play

  • @SplapMeDoooo hes terrible at short, foot works awful, receiving the GB is awful. kid can play dont get me wrong just not in the infield

  • What a man.

  • @francishowell99 it is impossible to throw 800 mph shutup

  • friend who played with him said he was a douche.... bet he is...

  • he has amazing potential he has potential to possibly hit 50 plus homers wen he enters the MLB

  • he is very good. amazing actually

but im not gonna lie. there is no way at the major league level tht he can get away with that swing. way too much movement

    still is gonna be amaizng

  • Im 14 and i got invited to tryout in this Baseball factory thing.. I know theres gunna be a whole bunch of 18 year olds and my chances of makeingg it are REALLY slim :/ but should i go anyway just for the experience? Tell me what you think....

  • @JOVANNIESTRADA100 i'm 16 and i'm going. go for it

  • Im 8 and i throw 800 mph and my team has never lost becuase i hit 323 homeruns.

  • he is going to be amazing. well correction he already is amazing. but as you can see when he pops up he closes hes body from the target but makes up for it with his strength. when he gets pro coaching he will throw 10 times harder and be a lot quicker with it

  • @bcat13cyc 10 times harder? he throws like 96 already pal

  • hes amazing i cant wait to be watching him in the mlb

  • Good Luck with the Washington nationals Bryce!

  • did he make this team?

  • good ball player, can do it all...cant wait to see him in the future

  • the other catcher has knee savers on and Bryce doesn't

  • yeah when you get picked #1 in the draft at 17 let me know. then you can critisize him all you want. hes NASTY!!!!!

  • @CTScout10 You got to be his dad or him because that dude is no where near Harper's level.

  • @CTScout10 Not even slightly as good as harper, looks like a good player, but I can guaruntee you he's not as good as harper, and I can name many kids of the top of my head who are better than him, not trying to be rude anyway, this kid looks good, he needs to goto showcases and make a name for himself, and how could he possibly be an MLB prospect..?

  • @soxfan95aw okay, I understand. But hey look him up, tell me what you think.

  • @CTScout10 jason gentile is nowhere near as good as bryce harper..lol an rbi single..a double..and a pop up ..really man?

  • @CTScout10 he sucks

  • @CTScout10 I live in CT, what school does he go to

  • @tng150 where about in CT do you live? He lives in Stamford.

  • @CTScout10 Fairfield, I live near Stamford

  • @CTScout10 hes in my class

  • @CTScout10 you are probably that Jason kid...

  • people need to stop acting like there just as good as him. if your as good why arent there 50+ videos of you showing how good you are? this guys a legend on middle school and high school fields, and none of the kids on my conference all star team couldnt even touch his talent

  • @tylajking *could

  • i beleive that guy im 15 and have touched 86 and average bout 81

  • throw him any offspeed pitch with that swing and hes done for.

  • dude is a beast no doubt but he def needs to square his body up when behind the plate

  • dont believe that will happen? Try it, get in a catchers position with your right foot dragging and try sliding into blocking positions and see how awkward of off balance it makes you.

Also, when he gets up to throw the ball down, he's throwing across his body awkwardly because he needs to angle his shoulders higher almost like throwing from deep center, you wouldn't have your shoulders parallel to the ground because then you'd be throwing across your body and not as hard as you could be.

  • well obviously he is going to have his football back for that drill because its a tryout and the object was to get the ball to 2nd as fast as he could. he probly doesnt do that in a game. let me know when u catch for the USA team

  • I'll tell you when I play for the newport quakes, whether its a tryout or not, you look like shit doing that. It actually doesn't help get the throw off better or faster. If you do the right mechanics and get used to them which is the hardest thing to do if your used to wrong mechanics, then you will throw better, harder, quicker, block balls better, catch the ball better, etc. than with any other mechanics.

  • yeah he really looks like shit when he will be catching in the minor leagues at the age of 17

  • Who the fuck wouldnt draft someone who can hit a ball 550 feet and throw guys out from his knees. But when the amazement subsides and people get used to him being some freak of nature when it comes to physical ability, they'll realise that's the only thing that got him to where he is.

Coaches teach you mechanics for a reason.

    1. THEY WORK

    2. YOU LOOK LIKE YOU KNOW HOW TO PLAY

  • nice. his mechanics are so good

  • @noahmcdx No he cant hit 550 feet. Not with a wood bat. Alum inum doesnt count when you in the pro level

  • yeah ur right he only hits them 400+ with a wood

  • ya lol. people are making a big deal about his 550 foot home run with an aluminum bat and he was been pitched at about 60 mph

  • lets see you do that. i love people who try to make it sound like its nothing to hit a ball 500 feet

  • and when he slides over to his left, he will cause injuries to his left knee, and/or make it much harder to slide over to get balls way out of the zone and in the dirt because he wont be as stable causing him to often fall onto his knee and be leaning over and the ball will either deflect poorly from hitting his chest to hard, or hitting his helmet, arm, cleate, or glove, or the ball will get by him to his right because he will be leaning over to his left to far.

  • his right leg is draggin behind him in an effort to get a throw off better, but when he goes down and blocks the ball he won't be to tight and not relaxed and the ball will bounce off to the right. And when he has to slide over to the right, his left leg will stay up slightly opening up a gap in between his legs, his shoulders will be hunched over and he will be leaning over to much causing two problems, one the ball can bounce awkwardly off of im, and also he's a smaller target to block.

  • shortstop: when fielding he kept his top hand over the ball and he got around the ball and kept it left of centre which is very well done. Arm action changes for everybody. Probably didn't need to go to ground on the back hand, if he had taken a better route it would look cleaner.

Hitting: look he has pure talent, but that drift needs to be fixed, it's gonna affect him when the pitchers get quicker. He has raw power, good rotation, fast hands and good bat path.

  • are you only talking about catching mechanics or are you talking about other stuff? and how old are you? and you never named off catchers with great mechanics? are you ever going to back that up?

  • Im talking about catching mechanics only. Im 14. And I can't think of that many. Mainly because I haven't been able to watch any major league catchers for a while. All I can really emphasize is Joe Mauer. A lot of young new catchers coming into the majors have great mechanics. If you really care that much I can give more examples..

By the way here is a video I just found in the related videos section that is actually pretty much correct when it comes to mechanics. /watch?v=-w2-V0jB72o

  • bryce harper>you at catching

  • you already said that, and you are still contradicting yourself. First of all, im 14 years old, hes 17 and a prodigy. NO SHIT SHERLOCK. Second of all, his mechanics are shit, who cares how physically above average he is, because I'm talking about mechanics.

  • his mechanics> yours

  • can you name off some catchers that have good mechanics?

  • btw, reply to me again so I am notified of it, I have to get ready for baseball right now and I don't have time to name of catchers.

  • bryce harpers mechanics>yours

  • incorrect.

Bryce Harpers ability and skills>mine. Not mechanics. Im sorry but having good mechanics isn't an opinion. Its a fact he doesn't have good mechanics.

  • Comment removed

  • his mechanics are way better than yours. you are no where close to where he is at anything about baseball. so just stop talking you dumbass

  • Shut the fuck up. I never said I could hit that far bitch. I can hit homeruns with a wood bat. in a MLB field. He did it once he wont ever do it again. Especially with a wood bat

  • 1. Aluminum bat FOR THE MOST PART just has a bigger sweet spot, not necessarily a better sweet spot. Most of the time, with a wood bat you can hit the ball just as far as the aluminum bat, just not as often.

    2. You dont think he'll ever hit a ball out of an MLB field?

    3. Your right, 550 feet, he can really hit it 600 feet with a metal bat.

    4. The guys 16 or 17. Wait til hes 21, 22. Guys still get stronger well into there twenties.

  • 5. If it's not such a big deal, then why can NO ONE else do it. The fact that he hits the ball farther than anyone else his age that uses an aluminum bat is more impressive then the numbers and how far it actually goes. That goes on to tell you maybe he has the potential to ATLEAST be the best player of his generation.

  • Oh and by the way, whats your point with being pitched 60 mph? The faster the pitch, the harder the hit. And also, the "600 ft" homerun shown on his E:60, wasn't hit off of 60mph pitching, it was atleast 70 or 75. I'm in 8th grade and I max out at 74, 75.

  • oh he wont do what again? hit a home run on an mlb field? you are a fuckin dumbass. hes playing junior college and has 6 home runs this season with fences that are 335-400.

  • GET THE FUCK OUT OH HERE!!!! He didnt hit no 600 foot home run. i watched that show and it rolled across the highway and went rolling another 100 plus feet. kid get off Bryce Harpers dick. Good for you im 15 and i throw high 70's mid 80's. good for you

  • @JEudave13 They have no exact measure of the hit you faggot

  • Im not on his dick dueche bag. If you haven't noticed this whole conversation before you jumped in her has been about how I think his mechanics are shit. But clearly that doesn't mean I don't think he's incredible, because your a dipshit. And it didnt roll across the highway. They say dont believe everything you here, but if the kid can hit 550 ft off bp pitching, go fucking figure that he can hit a ball 600 feet off decent speeds.

  • Im not on his dick dueche bag. If you haven't noticed this whole conversation before you jumped in her has been about how I think his mechanics are shit. • JEudave is such an idiot

  • By the fucking way, Im 13 and I max out at 76, and Im well into 99 percentile for kids my age's velocity. And im not going to be throwing mid fucking 80s in two years. Get a grip, what are you on steroids or something? 15 year olds dont throw mid 80s. My coach has 14u, 16u, and 18u teams, and the kids on his 18u team can top at upper 80s, maybe 1 of them can hit 90, 91.

  • @noahmcdx your 13 and throwing. 76 that is pretty damn hard. i think i might of hit 70 when i was 13 and im 18 almost 19 and i only hit 90 once

  • thanks, do you play college ball?

  • @JEudave13 um no you dont throw mid 80's sorry. if you prove it to me through video i will believe it

  • so let me get this straight. your mechanics are right and 9 out of 10 major league catchers are wrong? so your mechanics are better than MLB catchers?? lmao you are one pathetic loser. i bet you are like some 13 year old dumbass who thinks you are the shit at catching and cant even get the ball to 2nd base without 2 hops.

  • when he was recieving the ball when he was framing pitches his body wasnt square he was cheatin his body to get the throw off faster and if he was softer on his front side and a little more in control i thing hed generate a ton more power

  • he wasn't cheating to get the throw off faster, he just has bad mechanics as a catcher. I've noticed that for some time, and I've noticed thats really one of his only major flaws.

  • are u a catcher?

  • yeah.

  • even though bad mechanics as a catcher isn't as big of a flaw as say bad mechanics as a pitcher, but I've still noticed thats one of his only things he really needs to work on if he wants to be noticed more for his fielding abilities. Clearly he can throw the ball down to second better than most, and he can even do it from his knees, just because his physical abilities make up for it. I just think, when you have good mechanics your just thought of as a smarter and better player.

  • are you a baseball scout? have u seen this kid play catcher in a game or are you just judging him by this tryout?

  • Do I have to be a baseball scout to judge that he has bad catching mechanics. I could tell you what is considered good catching mechanics and its easy to tell if its being done or not. I have seen it in many videos and im just making a judgement based on what I have been taught, not only what I have been taught but what ARE the right catching mechanics. He CLEARLY hasn't been coached well on catching.

  • oh so let me get this straight. everything that you have been taught is completely correct? and everything you do as a catcher is always right? you are a complete dumbass. i bet you think your catching mechanics are perfect and you probably think you are the shit too.

yeah he clearly hasnt been coached well huh? its not like he started at catcher for the 18U team USA team

  • you are completely wrong. You probably dont even catch. Im sorry, but my mechanics are right. Mechanics are done one of two ways, the right way, or the wrong way... You're not somewhere in the middle. You don't have to be the best catcher in the world to have good mechanics and vice versa.

Mechanics are mechanics and he doesnt have them, that doesn't mean hes not a prodigy of a ball player... 9 out of 10 major league catchers dont have the right mechanics.

  • his hitting technique has changed alot from this video to the ones when hes playing area code

  • last comment. he definatly wont play SS he takes too long to get rid of the ball.

  • and i have those cleets haha awesome.

  • i didnt see so much from him hes got a great arm and his hitting style was i agree late but nothing out of the ordinary

  • i got invited to tryout for the team

  • yo stop hitting with a metal bat hit with wood thats your real power.

  • Wow what are you guys talking about. He isn't off balance. I think he is getting his stride foot down a little later than normal, but some guys can get away with that.

But seriously don't try and put other players down to make yourself feel better, it just makes you look weak

  • ya and whose the one here who hit a 570 hr?

  • thats good but id like to see him face real pitching... and did you see the aflac game? prime example. he does have a pro swing and great arm for catching but lets see how he can do against people that our his level. thats when we will find out how really good he is.

  • that aflac game was just a bad game. it happens to everyone. however thats the best competition hes played. so it couldve been a bad game or it was just that difficult.

  • @tboner01213...... ya the aflac game was with guys as old as 4 years older... thats like u when u were 12 playing against bryce.... ya bcuz off a 90 mph fastball youd hit 4 bombs in 1 game

  • Kids an amazing player, but that back hand he displayed was ugly! but other than that and the lil double clutch here and there yea he's pretty good! His back foot is all over the place and he is off balanced but seriously ask him if he's comfortable at the plate..

  • back foot moves to much on swing off balanced

  • He is amazing at catcer and shouold stay their because im a shortstop and i can see he has a great arm but bad form at short pluse he double clutchs everytime he shlud definetly stay at catcher

  • Comment removed

  • seems like a rlyy good SS

  • He has skills more than any of you who shouldn't be talking even though you all sit on the chouch and watch baseball day be cause your to damn lazy to get a job doesn't mean you can give you shitty comments about a him when he can throw faster than most MLB players and has set world record for the 502 ft HR he hit at topicana field at the age of 16 so if can do better at his age then let your actions speak louder than your words or shut the hell up!!!

  • ya defiently doesnt have a weak arm buut i agree that he might have a little trouble blocking balls in the dirt buut once he gets to the drafted theyll work with him on that, he'll be fine tho

  • never make it as a catcher. weak arm and changes his stance when they tell him they're going to throw it in the dirt. need to have one stance and be able to react. mabye midle infielder but needs to get rid of that pump before he throws. don't have time for that in the bigs

  • Weak arm huh...Did you by any chance see the aflac all american game? He threw out one of the fastest kids in the nation and he almost back picked a kid from his knees at 2nd. Consistent 1.8-1.9 down to second also...I dont think that qualifies as "weak"

  • Hes 16. You idiot. Obviously Hes still learning. Hes already better than any 16 year old ever to play. Just think what he will be like in 5 years

  • weak arm?!!? he throws 96 mph!

  • weak arm? u know he throws 96 off the mound?

  • weak arm? dude how is throwing 96 mph weak he probably has atleast 20 mph on you so i wouldnt make a comment that stupid.

  • He throws 96 miles an hour. yea, he sure does have a weak arm.

  • 96 is definetly not a weak arm bro

  • This kid is the real deal.

My opinion I think he should stay for his Junior and Senor years of HIgh School.

Either way I know he is going number 1.

  • his secondary postions is actually 3B just so you know

  • short stop dumbass

  • really because i just looked it up bitch

    dont talk

  • really i wonder y it says c/ss not c/3rd

dont talk dumbass grow a pair

  • um if you had a IQ above five you would see that this was filmed in 08

i looked it up on other updated shit

i gotta pair and yours is smaller than barry bonds after his usage of roids

    stupid ass bitch dont talk

    and fuck your mother

  • hah ok. do u even play baseball chode stroker

  • yes i do

and i bet u dont u little bitch

  • actually i do and umm.. my team won tthe bpa world series for the midwest/greatlakes region.. ball bag

  • ball bag? lmao wtf okay

    that made me laugh

  • hahah ik it funny... i got it off of sex drive

  • This Guy is amazing woow

  • im going to go out on a limb here but i bet that he made the team

  • I had a stopwatch on my dresser so i clocked his pop to pop for fun and it was a 1.68 so i did a different one it was 1.75

    kids got raw talent

  • I think he is gonna skip his last 2 years to go to college for one year then entering the draft at 17 or 18

  • i heard hes skipping his junior/senior years of high school to play minors and be in the show by the time he is 18 but can you blame him?

  • He is dropping out of high school and getting his GED and going to a juco to play baseball for 1 season and he will prlly be the number 1 pic in the 2009 draft next year

  • the 2009 draft already happend so i dont think thats true and if he does brop out hope he makes it

  • o my bad i meant the 2010 draft

  • 2010 buddy

  • what is his pop time?

  • 1.8

  • eww wat happened to the field. BEAST

  • whats his pop time???

  • Comment removed

  • He certainly qualified at this Tryout! We'll see...

  • did he make the team

  • dude hes gonna go straight to mlb after the first year in college and is proably going to be the nuber 1 draft

  • just to let you know if he goes to a four year university he must wait then 3 years to be eligible in the draft

  • hes leaving high school this year, going to a juco in the fall so he can be drafted a year earlier

  • ya i heard its just this idiot redkoalabare doesn't understand how it works
