'Drawing on the horror of the Holocaust...' very true, but it hardly stopped there: prostitution, anorexia, corrupt politics, the death penalty and man's simple wanton worthlessness are all also touched upon in 'The Bible'.
"Fulfilling a prophecy"....reminds me so much of Closer which was Ian Curtis' death prophecy...although we don't know what really happened with Richey!!
You gotta feel for Nicky in this vid, hearing him talk of Richie when he was admitted to the mental clinic. It looks like he could've broke down and cried at any minute. It just shows how close they were.
i wrote that comment using my previous account when i was angry that so-called manics fans were claiming that its their only good album. i think a lot of people are drawn to the album because of richeys breakdown which occured around the time of the album. i dont think thats a good enough reason to claim its their best work. it is one of my favourite albums of all time but i disagree with a few of the lyrics and can relate much more to the powerfull and brilliant lyrics of generation terrosists.

richy leaving the band made them what they are, they become a much better band when he decicided to go walkies.....and the thing is richy knew that and how big they would be if he dissapeared
It's called Strategy (South Face/Front Face/North Face) by artist Jenny Saville. She gave them permission to use the image for free after Richey had talked to her, over the phone, about each song on the album in detail.
Actually, I got it mixed up, I thought you were asking about the Holy Bible album cover, but when I checked back at 2.48, I realised I'd made a mistake!!! Sorry! Can't really help you with that one I'm afraid!
The information above is the story of how the actual outer sleeve design came about though!
I believe that is not a piece of artwork but a picture taken of Vladimir Lenin's mausoleum, one of the people they reference in the album. This picture was placed beside the lyrics for Revol and that is the specific track that mentions him so logically i think i'm right in saying it's him.
It brings tears in my eyes that does.. I'm a fan for 20 years now and I remember everything just so well...

I just felt a horrible rush of intense hatred towards the fan who sent the knives.

the images of Richey on the swing along with the intense humming of evil are really haunting

Nicky seems to upset in this video, I feel sorry for him, he needs a hug. Ive watched this over and over on my old VHS tape. A very good documentary.

i am 14 and the manics have had more influence on me than any other band, so dont make arrogant fucking claims which you cant back up.

Guess what mate, so am I. I can back up these claims as I deal with thick cunts every day.
