The Bugatti brand was registered as a French car, and even raced in FRENCH RACING BLUE (Alfa Romeo and other Italian brands raced in red, the British in British Racing Green and the Germans in white).

You didn't mention that the original Bugatti was sold in 1963 and pretty much was doomed in 1947 already when Buggati died.

In the late 80's Romano Artioli bought the RIGHTS to the name and REVIVED the brand, it wasn't the classical Buggati in Molsheim, France, but a whole new company that only had the rights to the name.

Unfortunately that venture produced few cars and that Bugatti went BANKRUPT in September 1995. Then in 1998 Volkswagen bought the rights to the name and revived it for a second time

Ettore Bugatti was born in Milan to a family of Milanese origin. He moved to Alsace (then Germany now France) and built his cars there. Bugatti Automobiles is owned by the VW Group. The Veyron is developed and designed by VW and built by Bugatti Automobiles. Since the engine is the heart of a car and the engine of a Bugatti is built by VW I would say that Bugatti is 1st a German, 2nd a French and 3rd an Italian car.

Bullshit. First of all there was no Slovenia (as an independent country) until 1991, during the early 20'th century it was part of Austria-Hungary, and after World War One it became a part of Yugoslavia (which at that time wasn't called that).

Second of all Italy didn't become fascist until 1922 after which Bugatti ALREADY had founded his company in Molsheim, Germany (which became part of France after the Versailles treaty of 1919).
