Hamas did NOT end any ceasefire! The treaty EXPIRED on December 19. Hamas chose not to renew the treaty because they felt that Israel had not held up their end and eased embargoes on Gaza.

first of all, a blockade is an act of war. second, yes...a blockade is control. when you control what food, energy, and medicine goes into a country...and you block the borders so people cannot get in or out...
I would say that is control...and that is a form of occupation.
israels M.O. since 1948 has been expansion...if they stayed within their borders im sure theyd be ok...but they dont. look at the UN's list of resolutions on israel. its indefensible.

Look at the motivations for the expansion: to safe guard their people. For example, they expanded into the Sinai, Gaza, West Bank and Golan in 1967 after trapping and destroying more than 250,000 enemy troops just days (hours) before those troops would've invaded.
The Palestinian M.O. since 1948, on the other hand, has been murder.

No, you are simply saying stuff that isn't true. Israel has returned thousands of square miles of land to Arabs. Land that it had at it's inception, such as the Gaza Strip and the West Bank; and land that it captured in war such as the entire Sinai Peninsula. Those are facts. Yes Israel once tried to put settlers in those lands to maintain it's rights to those lands, but not anymore. I'm well aware of Israel's list of broken resolutions, I also know what Shariah Law leads to.

I already pointed out the false things you said about Israel's expansion, by pointing out infact they have lost a great deal of land. Most of it willingly, in the hope of peace.
No I'm not defending Israel's human rights record, I was agreeing with you on that point. I'm saying Hamas recently began steps to implement Sharia Law, that will make them neither a democracy nor do any good for Palestinians.

Um, it's not an Israeli talking point. Israel pulled out of the Gaza Strip in 1994, it's not like we're talking current events here. It's a fact. Then in 2005 Israel demolished the houses of 9,000+ Jewish settlers in Gaza and moved them out. Gaza is under Palestinian control. Israel is not attacking the West Bank. You simply have no grasp of current events, there's no nicer way to put it.

How can Gaza be under true palestinian control when for the past few months they have been under a blockade...The israeli military refused to let UN shipments of food/medicine into Gaza...and you think the palestinians are in control.

Why would Israel need to blockade them if they occupied them? Use some common sense. What about those Palestinians having fire fights with the Egyptians? How did the two forces ever meet if Israeli forces stood in between? This stuff is not rocket science.

I don't automatically believe Israel. Hamas proudly admits the rocket attacks on Israel. That's the crux of the whole matter. Anything can be settled via mediation, and diplomacy. Once you attack, you must expect to be attacked. Besides, you make it sound like Hamas is The Labour Party or something. They were a terrorist organization given legitimacy by a vote. I feel awful for the Palestinian people. The actions of their government though brought this upon them. Much like the economy in the US.

Every people do have the right to resist agression, in this case Israel was not the agressor, Expansionism, in this case Israel not only didn't expand, actually relocated a settlement, Occupation, in this case Israel occupied nothing, but maintained a defensive position at its own border.

It's just a fact. They've lost alot of land. They willingly gave it up. They didn't have to. Gaza and the West bank don't even have to be there. They are there because Israel allowed them to be. I agree with you on the last point, there is little question that they at the very least intend to be in Gaza for the next while.

The Palestinians have long stated that they want all of the land for themselves, that they're not willing to agree to the 1948 separation of lands - which also called for the creation of an Israeli state and a Palestinian state. That is why, the day after Israel was recreated, they attacked and were put down, and again in '54, '57, '63, '67 and '73 - along with others.

Palestine was again was a Roman designation. Palestinians are Arabs. This is not their ancestral homeland. There is no such thing as an ethnic Palestinian. This is land they themselves at one point invaded an conquered. The last rulers of Palestine were the British Empire. Before them the Turks. Never, ever was there a Palestinian nation.

Israel was a nation LONG BEFORE 1948. The Romans conquered Israel LONG BEFORE WWII. Just because it switched hands in the meantime doesn't make it any less theirs. The Arabs conquered it just like everyone else. They don't have more right to it than the Jews who were there long before the Arabs came.

It is a problem History, Because the Arabs have and will always out number the Jews. There is a huge grass roots movement of, Jews and Arabs, alike who are trying to make Israel a secular democracy where all get represented.
