@wizehop 99.99% of freight trains stop at Vasai road. They have a crew change here. The ones that blast thru at full speed are those which goto or come from Mumbai. :-)
@aamodnerurkar Thank you very much, I am moving to Mumbai/ India for a few months and I''m looking for good places to see freight trains. I will have to check this place out. Do you know any other crew changes along the Mumbai Delhi route?
@aamodnerurkar I'm moving from Canada...So in Kopar those are the trains coming from the port and heading to Pune? Im trying to learn India's freight system..its much more complex than North America's. I have been spending alot of time on the IRFCA but every one in India seems to be more exited with passenger service that "goods trains"
@wizehop At Kopar the freight trains, especially containers which you see will be heading to/coming from port and will come to Vasai. They'll proceed straight up north to Delhi or in Gujarat. Most of them goto Delhi, there's inland container depot at Tughlakabad.
Even I enjoy freight operations more than passenger. :-) Lets see if we can meetup at Vasai for some freight spotting.. :D
@aamodnerurkar yes for sure, I will email you when I am settled in Mumbai and we can meet. Do the trains heading to Dehli crew change at all, or can they get to Delhi in one shift from Vasai Road?
@wizehop No they can't go with single crew.. Vasai to Vadodara one crew for container rakes only. Vadodara to Ratlam. I dont know about crew working between Ratlam to Delhi. Will find out. :)
@avinashi07 Hehe. Thats sad for a ALCo fan like me. But I'm happy that WR uses its electrification to the fullest! :-) Post DC2AC conversion, chances are high that even these trains will shift to electric links..
First time I saw this at BSR, it was doing pure 105.. Even people were looking at its near MPS run. Second time, I captured it on mobile and it was doing MPS. But quality of that video is not good. Since that day I've been trying to get it at MPS but some reason or other its not getting it to do. Once, there was a caution order at BSR. In this video there was a EMU ahead of it.. I'm gonna try to capture this every sunday until I get its MPS run! :-)

Very nice zooming action and capture. In the beginning it didn't seem like the train was fast but towards the end the real speed became apparent.
