This kind of reminds me of a one-shot "Lil' Abner" Sunday page I read in "Comics: The Complete Collection" (sampling of every known comic strip), where they spoofed Peanuts and Charles Schulz, and the United Feature Syndicate men (or a mob) in that comic, argued with the cartoonist whether or not "Croopy" should behave like a real dog due to the cartoonists' therapy issuses. (To begin with in that comic, he looked meaner than snoopy)

Wow, I haven't seen this is in probably twenty-five years! Well, I hoped Snoopy learned not to take his comfortable life for granted. I guess I'd be having nightmares too after eating four pizzas!
Anyhoo, I just wanna say that that guy's a total moron. Same routine day after day: mush, eat, drink, pause ever so often, and then rinse and repeat. Never even taught his dogs cooperation, never treated them equally. And it cost 'em ALL dearly. Yes, I know the Arctic's a harsh environment; do whatcha can ta survive. Who says harsh environments don't pick favorites?
Even though I'm sure the next cartoon's gonna retcon it like always, I believe this is the first time I've seen Snoopy effectively humbled with nigh-permanent effects. He remains a bit cocky, but it's a lot better than how the cartoon starts off. Just the sort of thing missing from...well, from many Peanuts cartoons, but I'll settle for Snoopy Come Home. Speaking of which, I'd hate ta think of feral Snoopy getting anywhere near Woodstock. Or any of the humans. Just imagine. O.O
If I'm not mistaken, this has got ta be the first time we see adults in the cartoons, if only faceless. What would happen if Snoopy acted like a "real" dog? You mean, just like in the early days of the comics? And in a situation involving no cats? I guess this is one of many answers we'll ever get, and certainly one of the most effective.

This doesn't end the way you might expect it to. You'd think when Snoopy wakes up it would be morning & Charlie Brown would want Snoopy to play husky again & this time Snoopy would cooperate; he'd get down on all fours & act like a real husky like in his dream.
