I agree. It is a chance you take when working in any job with animals. But, I think the REAL problem is the people behind the show... the big business. They push the animals so far (sometimes even when sick or old with other health problems). Unfortunately, it is the trainers (those with the most contact with the animals) that bear the brunt of the animal's frustration or anger.

i think they should free the orcas, when I read the details and watch how the trainer died. i think the orca is giving us a lesson on how does it feel if we are being played by them also, since we are doing it to them. i think they are miserable, they can be freed they will survive the wild because God made them that way. men are liars and making alibi that they cant survive in the wild coz they love the money it brings to them, God said that money is the root of all evil. repent!!!!!

The difference between zoos and Sea World is that Zoos ATTEMPT to create safe habitats for animals that are endangered in the wild. Sea World simply uses the animals as entertainment, training them and showcasing them to make a profit. All animals of the sea are becoming endangered, however these animals, if they are to be safe from US, their only threat, we must EDUCATE others about how they SHOULD be treated.

Give me a break. researchers in the field and film makers provide more information about these creatures than any theme park will ever do. Its not cute to see these whales do tricks.
