@whiskeyify yes, i work making and surface mounting circuit boards and we stress test every board we manufacture for 60 hours. and we make probaly 600 per week maybe more with come jobs. what you have to remember is that the will have a huge space for testing and they will keep to a ratio of 1 in test 1 out of test for example 08:00 1000 in test, 15:00 1000 out of test and sent into packing, 16:00 1000 in test. they will have a huge ratio that they will need to to. if you use google maps
Got to say never had a problem with Gigabyte boards. Very interesting video. I usually go for Asus boards now. Tried Abit in the past and had no less then 3 boards die on me!
I spent 2 years writing test software for a UK single-board computer manufacturer and all I can say is: a) the test facility in this video kicks ass compared to what we had access to lol and b) testing PCBs is pretty boring.
lol that gets me wondering iv always had a gigabyte mobo none of which was dead on arrival but i had 1 asus board just to see what there like and it was dead
Interesting. I was always wondering if they tested the boards before sending em out. Does this mean all boards are tested as shown first or just some. Its kind of a double edged sword. What if its damaged after its test and being returned by the person who tested it. Or damage at the factory by someone after being tested. DOAs still happen.
Your kidding me right. A lot of electronics products go through multiple tests similar to what you see in the movie. It doesn't matter what country you are in either. I worked in a factory in the United States and they had multiple set ups for testing similar to what you see here.
my dear MCSin.. hahahaha... you dont trust asians with your board? Does idiots like you know what countries supply the manpower for many companies all over the world? Look around ya, my guess is youre even wearing shoes made by chinese. And contrary to what almost everybody thinks.. the japanese WHO ARE ASIANS are the best with tech.
@shogrran they are not the best in tech... they are just the CHEAPER... thats why all big west companie manufacture most of their production in asian countries because of the high cost.. not quality or state of the art tech... in contrary everything today (ok not everything but more than 70%) of the product considered high tech are constructed in a western country by europeans - americans (the state of the art parts) and then those parts are bulked and send to the asian country with some
@shogrran ..... asian country with some blueprints attached so that they compile the rest of the product together.... for example some high end cellphones have PCB and chips assemlbed in a western laboratory and then the rest of compilation (putting the capacitors into the PCB attaching the lcd assebling the phone housing etc) happens to an asian country because its cheaper..
-MCSin2007- I'm really not sure if you're trying to say "assassins" or "Asians" -- if you meant Asians then you're screwed as they make just about every board out there...probably even the ones in my pinball machine from 1978. They're good at what they do.
-MCSin2007- Crap - I thought you mis-spelled Asians (I'm just not used to seeing it in all lower case) So never mind the "assassins" part of my previous comment.

Do they test every one? I doubt it. they would not have time to test everyone.

@whiskeyify actually they do. they stress test the boards for 100 hours befor it gets sent to packing.

@johnaldo165 seems like they would pull so many a day to test. they must make hundreds a day...

I believe they do this on the first couple 500 boards, once everything is alright they just replicate them.
