I've been to Glastonbury Tor but I've never walked up to it at dawn, lovely scenes. In 1971 the stoned-out hippies trying to construct the pyramid stage in a force 10 gale probably didn't know the concept of health and safety!
He arrived into a mad storm of concepts and brought real peace and real love. the effect was tangible, even the next day a feeling of peace still prevailed.
It's not just then - he still has that effect to this day.
Amongst the playful madness Prem Rawat brought clarity and continues to do so for me in such a "practical, user friendly" way! Thank you for gift of self awareness my dear friend shown to me 34 years ago because it just seems to get better and better!
Amazing to see that 12 year old boy, just out of India, speak with such conviction and simplicity. Many outward things have changed, but Maharaji's message is constant and true..."what you are looking for is within you and I can show you." I love you, Maharaji, thank you for everything!

Elan Vital is in a poor state nowadays. There's a conflict between what the new people are told- the current spin without the 'Lord' stuff- and what the hardcore old timers- instructors, residence staff, full time officials- believe- which is all the old Perfect Master, with more power than ever before bollocks. When the new premies sniff the cult of the old premies, they don't stick around. In addition, the hardcore is dwindling, and many old timers are starting to question everything.
I am sorry that you feel so negative. If you would only see that Prem Rawat has reached millions around the world. just placing that mirror in front of us. once there it is up to us what we see. You create your own cult and quilt. dive within and discover who we truly are within each breath. that is a gift. Remember that we chose to come this time to experience the Magnificence and the perfection of Creation. Knowing that which creates life we are and that which is life we are..We re one.
Since Maharaji shed the Hindu trappings, his message stands out more clearly, but it is still the same message. Go inside, experience the life force, make that your basis.
Friend of mine went there and told me about him when I came back from Findhorn. She was a nutter but something profound had happend to her and I was deeply affected. Most of what she said went in one ear and out the other but I decided to check him out before I started WWIII. 35 years later he is still working his butt off to spread this message of hope. All I can say is thanks from the bottom of my heart cos it saved my life over the years, many times for sure.
He took up the initiative to bring these hopeless dopist onto the right track of life!
You can see the crowd, they are unscruplous, uncouth and wild, but Prem Rawat, at the age of 13 brought (exceptions of those who were adamant of spoiling their life) to the path of righteousness and enjoyment in the truest sense of life!
A 13 year boy coming from India, speaking English with an obviously Hindi acccent, to an audience with a completely different culture. And the core of what he conveys is exactly the same like today! Incredible!
The message this boy was saying was incredible and profound; i'm sure it was hard for people to believe that he really is the real deal, and what he shows you is yourself.
since there are so many people using the same words, it's easy to be bored by the words, the difference is this guy not only means it, he can show it to you.
This is a tiny bit of a long BBC documentary on the faire.
As a young man of 13, on school vacation from a strict Catholic school, in the West for the first time, with limited English, it was probably very disconcerting for him to be driven into a venue to speak to a crowd of older Western people who were exuberant, wild, half dressed, and probably drunk or stoned. That took courage on his part.
A friend who was there told me there was a triple rainbow that day. His words changed her life.

Yes I remember the mud and I remember Bennett (the elderly man who spoke about education-who by the way was a disciple of Gurdjieff). I dont remember the chubby Indian boy though as I was only about 7 at the time its not surprising.
It was an amazing place but there was a lot of crap both literally and metaphorically. Listening to the boy I am not very impressed. It is very common to hear such people in India . Full of 'knowledge' and egos to match. Peter
The matter of your love, the matter of your peace, the matter of your bliss, always was, always is and it always will be the matter of how close you can be to your own sweet heart. During my life I've tried many things, but nothing brought me so close to my heart than Maharaji's Knowledge. Do whatever you can to get the closest to your heart. ;) Amen.

this really massages the truth.
When this kid appeared at Glastonbury he was worshipped by a few, derided by a fair few more - but the vast majority (me included) were stood there, bored, waiting for him to shut up and for them to get some music on.
It was definitely not a mosh pit of hare krishna dancers.
I heard him speak - and 36 years later I still think he's a boring twat stating the obvious!
Yeah this was taken straight from the original film. I was a kid when all this good shit was appening. Shame that so many of the people of that time have become SO cynical and 'boring' Life is magic - you have to let the magic in our you die.
I don't know where the Hari Krishna thing came from, may be the editor is confused. The message given back in 1971 is just as profound now.I'm still growing in it and loving it after all these years. Thank you
I have talked to 6 people now, who heard Maharaji speak here for the first time, and they were so touched , that 36 years later, they are still enjoying what Maharaji has taught them
Most of that footage wasn't cut from the original film, it just wasn't edited in such a propogandist manner. The footage of the audience dancing was (probably) taken from the stage while Traffic were playing (dubbed with Hare Krishna afterwards). Most of the audience seemed decidedly suspicious of some guy they'd never heard of, being driven in his limo to the stage, and telling us things we'd heard before, and that we need him to understand it.
What an honor to have met somebody so full of clarity and enthusiasm about life as Prem Rawat is and was when he was fourteen as in this video! Thanks for sharing this great video!

Few thousand hippies high on LSD, running from reality and responsibility talking to others about peace. So high on drugs that they themselves don't know the difference between right and wrong. Are we suppose to start taking drugs if we have to consider world peace. Such decadent people and their hollow words.
In the midst of all that , what I remember most about that event in71' is a "Jesus freak" stopping by our tent and talking about Jesus being The Way, The Truth and The Life and that our peace with God was bought with his ife. Thank you whoever you were.
I think you are confused: the festival was mostly one big rock festival with many name bands, which is what drew the people to the event. The festival was meant to mark a very special solstice. Maharaji had just come to England, his first trip out of India, and he was given the opportunity to speak at the event. He was not telling anyone to do drugs, but the opposite - to go inside and experience the beauty within.
Even though this event was complete kaos, I have met 2 people and have heard of several more, who heard Maharaji here for the first time, and still practice and enjoy his techniques of finding peace within 32 years later
Very beautiful and powerful video. I admire his courage and the continuity of his message. It has stayed always the same, and in this world of changes, that's really amazing.
In this video one can see the passion we have to enjoy ourselves to the fullest. There is a way to capture every drop of enjoyment. Prem Rawat still is teching about it. Thanks for sharing it!
3rd technique, holy word of God, spirit, breath - different names but the same thing. Times change, the past is past. The magic within each breath is still there so yes, it is imperishable and will continue every day of our lives and that is what matters. If your priority is peace, you will find it. So simple and it always has been, even through all the language, eastern references, organization or ego driven distractions. If you sincerely look for truth, you will find it. Breath is wonderful!

It was very brave of maharji to do this.
13 years old, just arrived in the West, no idea how westerners behaved.
That Fearlesness is still very apparent today.
1,000's are now receiving his gift every year, while a few dwell in the past and try to discredit him.
But as the old saying goes.

Fantastic, pure and powerful words of young Maharaji. All he ever spoke,
has been and it will always be
