  • Is it shameful that I'm balling my eyes out?

  • @GeoRyukaiser no mate it is not, hell when I listen to this, "I was only 19 - Redgum", "Kokoda - Slim Dusty (R.I.P old friend)" and "band played waltzing Matilda - John williamson/Eric Bogle/etc etc" Brings a tear to me eye as well mate to be honest.. it would be shameful not to mate

  • @GeoRyukaiser no it is not shamefull dont let anyone tell you other wise mate i get the same way when i rember the brave and fallen

  • To my brother in arms Thank You from the yank

  • If we all took a page from Johnny's Book add a little technology and we would have a perfect Australia. I remember being 15 and loving American Gansta Rap and was embarrassed by my parents music.......Now I get it.... John makes me feel proud and thankful to be Australian. I love it!!! We truely are the best and luckiest country in the world

  • I thought I was the only one who liked this song.

It's a hard one to find and well worthy of being a classic.

Thanks heaps for bringing it back to life.

  • Love this song, grew up in Port Lincoln, my family were sitting on the cliffs watching them film Gallipoli with Mel Gibson, know a couple people who were extras in the movie too :-)

  • Anyone who appreciates the freedom of the people in Australia should respect this song as one of the greatest tributes to the men and woman of the Anzac that helped give the world the the freedoms we take for granted now. Lest we forget.

  • "It could've been me..." Chilling.

  • This should be the new Australian anthem!

  • i just was at gallipoli 4 anzac day, i listened to the song when going back to istanbul and cried

  • Love this SONG!!

  • This is one of my favourite songs and I really love the video you have created for it. Good one mate! xxx

  • This sounds like 100 times better live john williamson came to toowoomba for our show and he sang alot of his g8 song but then again they are all . its so cool tht he was inspired by actors tht were playing some aussie anzac diggers and at the end of the movie they didnt want to give there unforms bak he is such an awsome Ausiie singer :)

  • the first world war diggers are all gone now and soon the it will be the same for the ww2 boys. but they won't be forgoten

  • It's a great song of course, I can still remember seeing JW many times when I was a young fella and still remember him playing this.

This is the ONLY video on Youtube for this song. Last year there was another attempt at making a vid, but the bloke only looped old archive footage from ANZAC Cove. It was a poor attempt and didn't do the vid justice.

This montage is pretty good! Even if you did include a few pics of present servicemen.

  • go da aussie's and go johnny williamson anyone who disrespects the aussie world well go fuck yaself to whereever u come from

  • gawd i love this song, you rock johnny williamson, thanks for putting the song on mate :D

  • Wow, I never actually expected to find this song on the tube! I mean, it's one of the most awesome songs ever, but you can barely find ANY John Williamson! You just made me so happy, thank you so much for posting this.

Your poetry is really good as well, well done. You do them all perfect justice.

  • Thank you for your appreciation of my poetry....i will try and find more music to post.

  • there has only been 202 views!!!!!! what the heck? this is a good song i have liked it for about 4 years now

  • Nice comment mate...i have liked it since i first heard it some 9 years ago when i rea my poetry to 3 million listeners on BBC Radio WM in England.

  • @superkiddojay only liked it for 4 (5) years? I've heard this song since i was a toddler. 20 years it's been one of my favourites.
