  • i came here to LEARN how to TRAIN, not about CAGES

  • How to potty train a dog: step 1 whoop his ass, Step 2 you will get fantastic results

  • I bought a wire crate for my dog and its huge and hes this small little chihuahua.I taught him to go on the potty pads int here and to sleep on the bedding in there so you know it doesnt actually matter what size anything is as long as you know how to train your dog and teach him/her the difference between right and wrong.

  • WHAT THE FUCK WE WANTED TO KNOW HOW TO TRAIN

  • I agree with what he says, but I do wish they had given this video a different title...

  • please delete this video and start to learn the terms and how the crates function. This video does nothing for those that want to crate train a dog. Sorry...its terrible...

  • holy cow!! i was hoping to find out HOW to crate train my puppy!!! not what crate to buy...oh well

  • Wow, this was tedious. I learnt a lot about wire crates, not much about training my dog!

  • shut up man and get 2 the bloody point!!!

  • just tell me how to get the dog to shut up, and not shit in the cage.

  • well then Mr. expert i say "and this is not something you want to happen" alot, my dog is a beagle terrier mix, and is like 3-4 feet tall and about 3 feet long, how the crap am i supposed to fit her in a tiny plastic cage? and if u but cardboard on the door and sides, your dog can just chew it up! and you CAN put a towel on it, my neighbor does it all the time. you are an IDIOT!

  • what size does a puppy Chihuahua need

  • @pulliplover7 A shoe box probably, but one of the experts here who don't believe in letting a dog be a dog will no doubt have other ideas

  • This guy is an idiot. You buy a big crate with a devider so that the dog will not out grow it. Also, put the cage where the dog can't paw things threw the cage, and plastic cages break a lot and dogs need to be able to be left in a crate without whining and fighting. this guy is just stupid. crates also have covers that you can buy.

  • Cute dog trainer.

  • all these damn videos and no one actually goes through the crate training process, just which kinda fricken crate to get

  • bitch u think im not gonna buy the wire cage because a kid could fall and crack his head? the kid could fall and land on the plastic cage a kill the dog. and who gives a flyin fuck which way the door swings?

  • Well, I'm headed to expert village........

  • Ok so you suggest a crate for training...but what are the steps to getting the puppy to potty train?? I live in an apartment building, and its really cold out now where I live, so I think i prefer paper/pad training... any suggestions on placement and schedule??

  • thx

  • i traind my puppie when i am not home to use the wire crate as a min bathroom than get out and walk away he does it to

  • @smart5615 ur not suppose to let him pee in the cage- congrats

  • There is a good article on crates at My Puppy Academy

  • A puppy is like a baby. It eats, sleeps and play. After all these activities they need to pee and/or poop almost immediately, since they havent developed their abdomen muscles enough to hold themself until they are about six months old. Just like babies can´t. An you don´t put them in a crate to "teach" them, do you? Just take them out immediately after eating, sleeping and playing and reward them when they do their thing outside. No big deal. And excuse me for my english.

  • all of his stupid "crate training" videos are the same one! i actually need help traing my new pup and this guy is just wasting my time!

  • I have a chihuahua, and I've been told they're one of the hardest to train. In the beginning, my firm "no's" were treated with ridicule. She would just stare at me and walk off, peeing and shitting in any place she desired. So I looked it up and came upon this method. I thought it was a bit extreme leaving a dog inside one little spot for so long. So, instead, I would keep her in the crate throughout the night (very comfy one). First thing in the morning I would take her outside. If she didn't

  • poo or pee, then I would take her in. Feed her. Afterwards, I would take her out again. After she shat, I would praise her and then let her play about for a good hour or so because these small dogs go every couple hours. After an hour, I would put her in her crate and she would be in it for an hour before I took her out again.

Dogs aren't stupid. They get the idea. As long as you don't carry them out of the house and onto the grass, they will grasp that they have to actually walk out themselves

  • Then you let them play a bit but make sure that you are still in charge and that they obey you. I would have her in her crate a total of five or six hours a day. She learned to poo and pee outside after two weeks. Now she's free to roam around the house whenever she wants. She's never in her bed unless she's about to sleep or is being sent to it.

Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with crate training. It's not cruel as long as it's temporary.

  • @BreathlessEndeavours I read your other comments you are absolutly right.

  • Crating began as a way for people who participate in dog shows to keep their dogs clean, but they did not take into account their dogs' social, physical, and psychological needs. Dogs are highly social pack animals who abhor isolation and crave and deserve companionship, praise, and exercise. Forcing dogs to spend extended periods of time confined and isolated simply to accommodate their guardians' schedules is unacceptable.

  • Comment removed

  • @MsLabMom Cheers to you, MsLabMom!!! Someone who finally understands the animal, rather than just their decor. If people don't have time for their pets, they simply shouldn't have one.

  • Is this how yo want to treat your new family member? Disgusting!!

  • @marelinor seems you never had a puppy and left him/her alone in your home.

  • @PitbullTheSuperDog I´ve had dogs since 1971. And I´m a professional dogtrainer.

  • @marelinor oh sorry, i forget we are on the internet where everyone expert in the given topic. lol

  • @PitbullTheSuperDog :)) Well, in this case it´s true. I have a long education and have worked as a professional dogtrainer in Sweden for over 15 years now. I mostly work with dogs with different behaviour problems.

  • @PitbullTheSuperDog

lol that is sooo true !!

  • @marelinor @PitbullTheSuperDog has the right response for you.

  • This is the same video with many different titles. WTF?

  • My parents new puppy is out of control chewing everything in their house she can get a hold of. Will this stop it????????????????????????

  • A crate is not a den. Crates are disgusting. Why get a dog if you're going to cage it? Either get the time, skills or the appropriately safe backyard for a dog before getting one. Crate users sicken me.

  • @PhleshWound You have NFI. Ever actually used a crate?

  • @mrmascorella Oh nice rebuttal. How eloquent of you. No, I wouldn't. Plain and simple. To confine a dog to an area it can't stretch in is just wrong. I've owned large dogs for 40 years and never found a crate/cage necessary, ever. GSDs, Doberman, Retriever, OE Sheepdog and crosses. Crates are for people who live in apartments, don't have a yard and don't want puppy chewing furniture, in which case they should get a different pet.

  • @PhleshWound You probably left your dobermans ears natural too huh?

  • @DuhDuhDustyn Doberman's ears?" Absolutely left natural. Thre's no reason to have them any other way, and where I come from it's now illegal to crop ears or dock tails, thank god. Remember, the human perspective on animal aesthetics is the only thing that has led to the horrors of such things as docking, cropping and declawing, and no civilised society would allow it.

  • @PhleshWound The fact that you have never used a crate is only a credit to your lack of understanding and comprehension of the reality of animal life. It is easy to say that you have never used a crate, and that people who do sicken you, but like its your choice to have a dog chew your stuff, it is others choice to crate train. And if you actually read any research, you might be able to make some sort of an educated response to these videos. Why watch if you just want to make neg comments anyway

  • @jmascore1 I've owned dogs for 50 years and never had the need to shove one in a box. I've lost an occasional couch cushion or slipper, but it's a hell of a small price to pay for thaving the company of these animals throught my lifetime. If your stuff is that important, then why get a dog if you have to lock it up for the safety of your couch? Grow a pair and pay attention to your dog's needs.

  • You must have great knees to be able to stay in that position for so long. I would have been in agony after 30 seconds!

  • Your retarded every single thing you "guaranteed" didn't happen this video totally made me not want to watch the rest of the ones you have posted

  • yeah, this is not helping at all...

  • can i get a den and not a crate?

  • this guy is a joke

  • after watching this, i still prefer the wire cage :)

  • can i use a dog house out of wood with a wire door so he cant get out cuz it u think about it its sorta the same

  • This douche has this same exact bullshit on three videos with different titles. Anybody who sees this fuck in person should kick him in the balls.

  • @deaven3 No shit dude. If you dont remember what you said, it was about all the extra crap that we dont need to hear when it comes to potty training a dog.

  • What is the deal?

  • when I create trained my dog he could see us from his create at night which kept him from crying

  • You fail at life...I don't give two shits about air holes or sharp edges...rename your video to "Idiot talking about crates".....

  • Umm...my cage the wire one...i cant put MY hand through it. My dog cant put HER paw through it.

  • 3:06...hit their noggin? really?

  • I really don't think it's necessary to buy 'multiple' crates throughout a dogs life. Just make sure you get a divider. If you feel the cage is too sharp, then cover it. For one your kids shouldn't be messing with the cage without supervision.

  • dogs are not prisoners! fuck would i ever put my dog in a cage!!

  • Dog training Wizard my A...!! Wire crates work best especially with puppies, you don't want them isolated from the rest of family, you want the pup to see you, for a smooth transition as a member of the family! Also better air circulation!

  • @boxerdane99 i am crate training mine right now and the wire one works great. she will sleep in it at night without crying because i have it beside the bed and she is able to see me.

  • LOL he says that children can get seriously injured from the wired crates LMFAO....thats only if the kid is retarted......DUHH :P

  • I like mesh crates better than wire or plastic.

  • Waste of Time. I'm guessing this guy sales crates for a living since he doesn't say anything about HOW to do it.

  • If your kid is running around on your tiled floor there and falls over, he is going to suffer a skull fracture from that, nevermind a metal cage! Solution? Wrap everything in cotton wool and bubble wrap. Better yet, wrap your kids in cotton wool and bubble wrap (don't forget the air holes though).

  • If my kid hits his head on the coffee table he will probably hurt himself too, but it doesnt mean i wont buy a coffee table. And How am I supposed to fit a great dane into a plastic crate? As far as visibilty. couldnt you just throw a blanket over the thing?

  • he says that its fine to buy the wire cage, calm down...

  • they have wire crates and plastic crates that are big enough for great danes...

  • ribbons is a good name

  • very interesting. tried your website several times. no go. it doesnt work. hummmm help

  • @PuppyExpress ribbons what a cute name!

  • when sould i take my puppy home he was born in oct13,09 .

  • When the pup is at least 8 weeks

  • Thank you - I was almost going to buy a huge cage for my little beagle. Now I will make a better purchase.

  • I bought a big cage for my beagle like 3 days ago. dang it.

  • @matthonest it's best to have a medium cage for a beagle. this guy is crazy about dissing the cage. it's best because it gives the dog more visuality

  • @matthonest *visabillity

  • I only keep my puppy in the crate at night... I then escort him outside to do his business. However he still prefers to pee/poop inside the house.. how can i get him to want to go outside?

  • when you go outside to let him do his bussiness only go to 1 place, and give him a treat afterwards.

  • but its pretty crowded now if i put toys, bed, food bowl in their cage....

  • You shouldn't put food in your puppies crate. If you go out and you leave him in there he's gonna eat and drink and will have to go to pee and or poop. You should put a few toys in the crate and let him get used to it with the crates door open.

  • i do... i bought a bigger crate with her toys, food bowl, water dispenser in it... she can poop there cause it has a tray under

  • If your letting your dog poop in the crate then your not really crate training are you? The point of crate training is to teach your dog not to pee or poop indoors. When they need to poop and they're in the cage they will beg to get out and then you bring them outside.

  • My Puppy always goes in the bathroom in her crate. As soon as i take her outside to walk nothing happens -__-

  • How old is your dog?

How much do you feed her?

    How much does she drink?

How long do you take her out to walk or do their buisness?

  • LISTEN TO THE VIDEO

your cage is too big. and taking them outside after they have an accident is useless... they already went and they dont know what to do

  • I need some help-___-"".. Well, I want to place the dog's crate OUTSIDE (It's REALLY BIG!) and nobody (except my sister)want the dog to sleep inside. Now, I know that dogs are pack animals, whatever and that they need to be where their pack is, now... Is it ok for her to sleep outside? She's a puppy but we cover her well and it's not even cold outside I love dogs and wouldn't agree without making sure she's protected... so...thnxs in advance..

  • yes its ok... just make sure she doesnt get wet when theres a rain. or if u like its ok she have a bath in the rain.. well except for storms though

  • Haha! ok got it thanks..;)

  • I do have some comments on this video. Wire vs plastic crate is a matter of preference. One advantage of a wire crate is that it can be purchased with a divider panel which allows you to get the crate for the adult size of your dog and the size of the crate is adjusted as your dog grows. In addition, some crates have closer bar spacing than others so look for this feature. It is also not necessary to "improvise" a cover. Attractive crate covers are commercially available.

  • the divider in the wire cage is the reason i decided to go that way. i can just move the divider as he grows so i dont have to get another cage.

  • Thank you.

I'm begging my mum for a puppy. And I need to learn all I need to know to keep the incoming puppy nice, clean, and healthy.

But that comes with a price and some suprizes leaving for you you to clean up x].

  • haha thats exactl what i'm doing to! haha

  • Haha! Good luck!! You're gonna need it..so do I x].

  • haha thanks yeh good lucky to u 2!

  • haha , and mee :) what breed are you after .. i managed to persuade my mom to let me have a dog but i was so excited she actually said yes i took the first do i saw .. i jack russel terrior rex he was 6 months and a devil soo it is best of getting a puppy :) good luck guys

  • watch the dog whisper, you wont need a cage if you know how to be the pack leader.

  • thanks that might be the answer

  • My puppy is still peeing and pooping in the small crate. I don't know what to do. That is the smallest size I found the size you have there.

  • The crate should be big enough for him/her to lie down, stretch and stand. Take him/her outside when he/she looks like he/she is about to pee/poo >_> ^___^ I'm getting a CKCS this week. :D

  • thanks for the info it helps for first time owners

  • ok thank you
