Guuaaa!!! quienes son los pelotudos que filosofean de esta berretada you juliabella ignorant you are calling these two ART?... have you ever see art? IGNORANT,,, IMPORTATION PAKET//////very saludos
I totally agree that they are great performers with great technique which I admire. Also watching live could make a difference. I did not mean to sound negative and unfair at all. Art is an expression and perception is subjective.
I just like to see more passion, sensuality, calmness, interaction in tango rather than speed. Who says that speed is aesthetically superior to moving slowly anyway? They may be performers of Forever Tango but when stripped from the theatrical scene and when they are dancing solo, they do not give me the same pleasure. I found your comment about doing something others can't a bit irrelevant.
I do understand your point, you are saying that they are overemphasizing the technique and you are looking for something else, but without technique nothing is possible and also I saw this performance live and if something got lost in the recording, they truly had a great connection between themselves and with the audience. Also, wouldn't it be a natural thing to overemphasize something that you are really great at?
Well, you would agree that everyone has their strengths and tango, as any art, is subjective. Although I don't insist that the high level technique and speed that they obviously have is necessarily the prevailing criteria, you can't ignore it as if it wasn't there. You comment hasn't reflected anything positive, just the negative and I think this is unfair to the artists in this particular case.
you would agree with me that everbody has a different sense of beauty and aesthetics. I have been dancing tango for 10 years and been fanatically watching tango from many different couples. I do neither claim that I am a flawless dancer nor that I am a tango critic.
by the way i started dance classical ballet when i was primary school. now i still go on. so how ballet and argentina tango can mix, i can think. please critize you before write...
They are performers from Forever Tango, and they do choreograph their performances so that when they get on stage they are prepared to show their special work to the public, unlike many thigs we see that are called "performances", but in reality it's a couple dancing as if they were dancing at a milonga. None argues that their performances are choreographed, but they do have a lot of flow and it is their incredible skills that make this chorepgraphy possible. Try it!
in here they should show their tango knowledge and clean movements in their show.but they dance like a saloon tango.they do movements one after another.this is opposite of tango's concept.yes i danced in Ave Maria but that is not argentina tango.we mixed classical ballet and tango.we took Argentina Tango's some movements such as following, leading, heros, ochos and we took classical ballet's softness, flexibility, fluency in my opinion they can't mix their ability into argentina tango.
So, what is the difference? They are also classical balet trained and using a thought-provoking edge of modern dance along with classical tango. Maybe the fact tht their are doing things at a much higher speed than many can?
Well, tango presents a world of opportunities, as we know, and as we love and many Argentines and others have proven that it is beyond limits. If you can experiment dancing tango to Ave Maria, why can't they take it in another direction and express their vision that is still built up on the Argentine Tango principles, but like the chebellaragazza said, does art need explanation? :)
Hola!

is your explanation good or not? but this is not a higher expression of Argentina tango. maybe classic tango :)

what is this, this is terrible, this not a argentina tango :(
pinaritap 4 years ago
Oh yes, it is, if you can think of tango as a form of art with a higher expression than just a sequence of steps :).
