oh gosh i loved him (scofield) in this, his mannerisms, voice and his performance; the Academy got it right! Thanks for uploading this, Im hoping to get this movie tomorrow. Love the father son lines in this movie. I wonder if Redford the director could relate to the younger Van Doren.

Yes, he was nominated, in the 67th edition 1994, but the oscar went to Martin Landau, for Ed Wood.
