Federal Signal is currently producing the E-Q2B, the electronic version of the siren. Its tone sounds similar to the Q2B but is not as effective due to its lack of square sound waves produced by a mechanical siren.
effective wise for noise is the Q. the overall better siren would be the electronic version. Less amps, GREAT SOUND, less likely to break down or need maintenence. That just my opinion I wake up to the sound of it very often. My favorite siren combo that I feel is most effective is EQ on wail and unitrol touchmaster delta siren.

@mxfrmbarsspbdsrtrver, Do you honestly believe having more than one siren running will somehow magically turn an idiot into a responsible driver? If They refuse to move for one truck making the truck sound like five trucks isn't going to help. Q and a horn, all you need. I also severely dislike those who stand on the Q, keeping in full rpms for the whole ride. Powerful horns, that's what get's attention, not annoying high pitched racket.

When i went to know york i videoed alot of Fire trucks and Ambulances, and because it was from the hotel room and the room was high up you could see it from above, might put some on youtube.
yes I to am a child, I do film the FDNY. But I don't shout like a faget when they blast a Q. Sure the Q sounds nice, but it's not a big deal. It ruins the quality of the video when you here people talking in the background unless it's firefighters discussing the call.

but the normal Q has an extreme sound drop while coasting down so I think EQ has fix a longer/louder coasting time. No problem glad to help!
