I don't care what you guys think. This was my favorite album from The Offspring, beating out Americana. That's not easy to do. Maybe their sound is a little different, but they're still the same great band I've loved since Smash. Just my two cents.

uh they never broke up, but still i agree they do suck now. the offspring used to be my favorite band by far and i still like a lot of their older stuff, but rfrg sucked so bad that i've lost nearly all respect i once had for them.

This is seriously a good album. I don't understand what you people are whining about? EVERY Offspring album has another sound, EVERY album. This album also have another sound, but it still sounds like Offspring, and it's 100% Offspring. Some slow songs, some fast songs, some soft songs, some hard songs - and it's all Offspring. Every fucking album they have have another sound. They can't do the same albums over and over again, stupid kids.

Probably the worst album to date unfortunately the first 6 tracks are among the best and could have made the album a superb classic but something weird happens with the last 7 tracks. They seem rushed and desnt catch me either its like they have stalled the album for some time then quickly added those. They sound like Green day or other crap punk bands. The sound is just all over the place in those and one of the songs remind me too much of that "september/November" song by green day

The Offspring are my favorite band ever. Smash, Ixnay, and Americana, and Ignition being their best works. To be honest, I may be looking forward to hearing Smash and Ignition remastered than Rise and Fall its first full listen.
i've listened to every track of this album via a live stream. track 6 "takes me nowhere" & track 9 "stuff is messed up", make me feel like i was listening to "the offspring" which is all i wanted really. the other tracks don't do it for me. the music has lost its menacing and adrenaline filled sound, and lyrically, well the words are there but they just don't relate properly because the music doesn't carry them. this is of course, IN MY OPINION

Dammit thought they were returning to their old sound with Hammerhead. And no it's not really like Green Day, 'cept for that Kirsty one and spesh that Rise and Fall - sounds exactly like Green Day wrote it. Green Day are actually my fave band and i love the Offspring but i hate to see them mimicking GD or watering down now to this extent (the old aggressive Offspring of old is them at their best), and even Americana was great and it had some mainstream songs.
To be honest, i was gonna type that the Offspring have played out. 'Splinter' made me belive they have and this was my first impression after beginning listening this stuff. I'm glad i was wrong. Well, they arent and they cant be what they used to be any longer but unlike many other bands (Metallica is good example) they seem to have succesfully found the next step. I'm not really into it but what really matters is that they're still good at what they do.
I agree with you. This album is the best from offspring!!! It was worth waiting 5 years, but here it right now. Maybe not 100% punk, but for sure the bes stuff so far! Offspring RUSES!!!!
To any Offspring fan's on right now, they are releasing the full songs on imeem. So far there is Half-Truism, Trust In You, and You're Gonna Go Far, Kid.
Another few things i want to clear up. There r of course instruments introduced that haven't been used in previous offspring albums. and other songs sound "un-offspring". but to me it sounds great! every song is different. and i do realize that part of a lot like me sounds like that shitty snow patrol song but i guarantee it'll b better. i like how the offspring disguised "shit is fucked up" by "stuff is messed up" haha. i think the new album shows maturity and pls dont judge by 30sec. previews!
Okay...to all the people comparing RAF,RAG to american idiot: i dont think so. RAFRAG has some political songs like american idiot. and RAFRAG also has a couple songs that sound like 90's green day songs but not from american idiot. and not nearly as many songs are political. just had to clear shit up

Sounds really amazing, I find myself keep coming back to this page just to listen to the 30 second clips. For all those who are complaining about the new sound, would you rather have had them make another splinter or conspiracy of one? I'm just excited to hear something new, and happy to hear almost every song on the album is completely different.

Ok, im scared about this coming out now. I was expecting to hear some real hard core offspring shit, but im hearing soft, weak tracks...hopefully when i hear the full version it'l be ok.
Obviously greenday's american idiot production has influenced this release i.e pianos/slow prog rock, thankfully not lyric wise though :)...either way its gotta be seen as progression for these boys, i like it

'm not gonna lie, this album feels like a betrayal of everything they stood for..
it's like they gave up their attitudes. conspiracy of one had redeeming qualities; i even liked splinter, though it wasn't too offspring-ish..
THIS album sounds like a different band with dexter's voice... a poppier, production-line band.
witness the rise of mainstream "rock", the fall of post-punk.
overdone sentimentality's the new fad, in my eyes they've fallen outta grace.

this new album totally sucks.
i mean , beside the 2nd track,the rest is:
-green day rip offs
-linkin park rip offs
-other useless songs (already seen on Co1 and Splinter)
and they were my favourite band when i was 13..but this is not The Offspring i know.
i hope this is their last album because they are making fun of themselves.
PS: if you are 14/15yo i can understand if you like it,but the ones who have loved old offspring can't say this is a good album..

Another few things i want to clear up. There r of course instruments introduced that haven't been used in previous offspring albums. and other songs sound "un-offspring". but to me it sounds great! every song is different. and i do realize that part of a lot like me sounds like that shitty snow patrol song but i guarantee it'll b better. i like how the offspring disguised "shit is fucked up" by "stuff is messed up" haha. i think the new album shows maturity and pls dont judge by 30sec. previews!

Okay...to all the people comparing RAF,RAG to american idiot: i dont think so. RAFRAG has some political songs like american idiot. and RAFRAG also has a couple songs that sound like 90's green day songs but not from american idiot. and not nearly as many songs are political. just had to clear shit up

Sounds really amazing, I find myself keep coming back to this page just to listen to the 30 second clips. For all those who are complaining about the new sound, would you rather have had them make another splinter or conspiracy of one? I'm just excited to hear something new, and happy to hear almost every song on the album is completely different.

Nah, i mean The Offspring are better doing their own stuff, it suits them best, not the more pop punk stuff. Personally, i think this is kinda cheesy... Too pop for the Offspring, IMO.

These boys r multi millionaires...they arnt daft n wernt born yestaday, they structure records to whats big in todays market whilst still keeping ther identity, n what they think there audience will want to hear these days, it aint 1994/1999 or 2003 anymore, i wasnt suprised to hear radio friendly songs again as sony records want to make money so the cd needs to appeal to the fans, they have to put a punk beat on it or the monopoly would be outraged!! i would anyway :)

Obviously greenday's american idiot production has influenced this release i.e pianos/slow prog rock, thankfully not lyric wise though :)...either way its gotta be seen as progression for these boys, i like it
