I'm wondering if the GTP's dual exhaust cutout will fit a G6. We've got a 2008 G6 GT and want to add dual exhaust, but the plastic cut out under the bumper is custom made for single exhaust. @VidTubeWatch Yes a GTP's dual exhaust cut out will fit on any other G6 except the GXP (which is already dual) and 2009.5 G6 all you need to do is remove the valence which is connected by some screws and such and replace with GTP valence easy and simple. However i wouldnt recommend it unless you have the GT-R exhaust system it is on of the only useable systems because other custom exhausts cause a of lose backpressure and the G6 loses torque. Btw I own an 06 G6 GTP.

I talked my parents into buying one in 06 and the things been nothing but headaches , the rotors warped aswell , the radio fucked up in a few month that was replaced and screwed up again and the worst thing is the clucking intermidiate shaft that was greased like 5 times then replaced finally and now needs to be replaced again and gm won't even admit to a faulty part, oh and their electronic steering goes hard whenever it wants to. No. If anything a exhaust that is more free-flowing, and maintains proper backpressure on the engine, will improve gas mileage. However.. the nice noise makes you want to mash the go-pedal and waste more gas lol.

OK I own a 2006 g6 gtp. with 34,000 miles. 3.9 v6 6 speed manual & all options. First i will tell you it is the best car i have EVER owned. & i have owned many cars in the last 24 years. now to be honest i myself had only 3 problems in the last 2 & a half years. First the trans clutch sensor went out. has been fixed. the strut bearings replaced. & the ignition switch in cold weather has a key release issue.only on my car accourding to national records. I dont care i love my car! its a keeper!
Pontiac makes a good quality car. They have a better design than honda or toyota. I recently drove a honda civic. Its a decent car but it was cheap and nerdy looking. I'd go for the g6 if you want better style and a tougher car.

Actually it stands for nothing sorta. Originally when they game out with the G6, it was the replacement for the GrandAm, so they named it G6 to stand for Generation 6 GrandAm.. but they later dropped it and denied any real meaning to the lettering as they came out with the G5, G8, G3 etc...

Stock to stock, 2006 G6 GTP = 240hp, 240ft-lb torque. 2006 Accord V6 = 244hp, 230ft-lb torque. Close to dead even, however, you pair it with a F40 6 Speed G6 and Accord will lose. If you include my few mods that maybe bump mine to 260hp, 260ft-lb, definite win.
2008 G6 GXP = 251hp, 251ft-lb. 2008 Accord 268hp, 248ft-lb torque, again a close call. There is no 'winner'. Please read before you make yourself look like an idiot.
G6 can get about 6.3s-6.6s stock, at least the 3.9L's did and the 3.6L's will be very close as well. G6 is 3445lb, Accord is 3560-3600lb. There is no way a stock Accord is 5.7s with the Accord weighing slightly more, even if it has slightly more hp. Even the 300hp, 280ft-lb torque Camaro that weighs less than both cars only gets like 6.1s stock.
Show me the article because both edmunds and Motortrend claim a 6.3/6.5 time. On the other hand ive found articles that claim as low as a 6.1 time for the 06' G6. And thats a 2 year older car. Take that bullshit 5.9 and shove it up your ass. Still isnt 5.7 seconds like you claimed initially. Go fuck yourself cunt.

Excellent exhaust note. Sounds better than my truck (3.9L dodge w/ Flowmaster 50 series). What does this do for your gas mileage though? And how about HP and throttle response?
Around town i get like 18mpg... Highway trips w/ around town I get 21-22mpg, and on a road trip all highway I got 25.5mpg. HP is estimated 260-270crank, I'm getting a dyno later this month. Throttle responce.. more than stock thanks to intake and a ECM / TCM tune that deleted some nanny controls.
Would you be able to send me some pictures from under the car? I'm trying to put dual exhaust on mine and nobody can fugure out how to make the bend for the inlet...please help!
It's now like 6,000 rpm now in park thanks to the tune. The gauge goes up to 6,500 but I'm to chicken to see if it goes higher to the redline in park ha.

in the city it gets 24 average

I was, the stock limitor was only at 4,000rpm :(. I've since gotten a Vector tune and can basically redline if I feel like blowing up my engine ha.
