  • It is questionably legal as CHIP states that it is permissible if done in a safe and prudent manner. That of course is open to wide interpretation but passing slowed or stopped cars at more than a few mph is not prudent IMO. 4 wheeled motorist collide with motorcycles daily simply because they don't see them. If you are passing rapidly and the stopped car in front of you suddenly decides that the grass is greener in the other lane who's fault will it be when you smack into him. Usually the

  • Lane splitting is legal is Cali. But so is riding in the HOV lane. Why not save the trouble of assholes and just ride the HOV lane?

  • Nice Video!! & Nice music :D I've got the same bike haha! It's a surprise how reliable it is don't you think?!

    Kind regards from the Netherlands

  • I want to back in lakewood so bad dude!!!!! I want to ride that xD i wish every state allowed that

  • hey does the 250 have enough power to maybe speed up to get in front of that truck if the driver wanted? I'm searching for a bike i want a 650 but i'm reading that its better to start on a 250, so just wondering if its powerful enough to get out of harms way. Nice video btw

  • @crzyrpr i re-watched the video... i admit that i was wrong - the truck driver did mean to cut dentalrepairs off. the only person i want to apologize to for my comments is the one who posted this video. but what ticks me off is people that say they'll key someone's vehicle - then cuss at me for disagreeing with them and then the other side of the coin is those that say 'i hate people that split lanes - i'd love to open my door as they go by'.

    something's wrong with this picture!

  • when ever i see someone in a motorcycle do this while i am stoped in a traffic jam i so badly wanna open my driver door.

  • @dp665 Ok, why are you telling us what you want to do? Tell you what, grab a camcorder and do what you want to do, lets see what happens.... but don't forget to post it up on youtube also. Less talk more action!!!

  • @dentalrepairs

hey man if someone does that to you take his camera away and break off his mirror and toss it on the other side of the freeway with the opposite traffic maybe he'll calm down his chauvanist jealousy about riders and there heavenly benefit that we do so happen to enjoy =]

  • @dp665 why? couse your a cock sucking low life bitch who has no respect from people and live the life in Internet? Oh... ok...

  • @VIDEOZAL because its illegal dangerous and stupid. and cuz i am a douch bag like that. i would do it and laugh my ass off at the person while they lay in pain in the road and go man are you retarded next time maybe they would think twice before doing something like that. that is just my opinion on the subject.

  • dude screw that guy in the white truck, i woulda scratched the shit out of the side of his truck for endagering my life like that.

  • Comment removed

  • @budweiburp i dont know about you. but where i live splitting lanes is completely legal. As long as there are two lanes to split like this guy is doing. But no going up the side of a turn lane or something at a stop light. I dont see why people have to be A holes about someone else getting through traffic quicker than they are. Pretty immature if you ask me. I personally move out of the way of motorcylces splitting lanes. why the hell would you want one of them to hit you anyways.Stop beinga fuk

  • @budweiburp You are supposed to be driving, not playing around with things in your car. If it wasn't for motorcycle riders that pay attention, there would be more of us getting hurt by drivers that are distracted doing other things inside their cars. Good excuses though about them sipping on coffee and playing with their radio while instead of paying attention to the road.

  • That looks so fun.

  • Jethawk lanesplitting is a very dangerous practice, just because it's legal doesn't mean it's safe, don't expect to be king of the road if your just buying a motorcyle for that reason, you willend up dead

  • I really want to get one. But my mom will never let me have one, even if I'm 30 years old and totally independent. I would really love to have a bike so I can save gas and save time by not being stuck in traffic since lane splitting is legal in CA.

  • I got 2 months... cant wait.

  • @dentalrepairs...Cutting over two painted yellow lines beats getting bumped by jealous cagers any day. 'Nuff said.

  • Why didn't you take the safer approach and jump over to the HOV lane?

  • @jtbyrd1977 The safer approach? You mean break the double yellow lines and cut in huh? LOL Also, the carpool lane started 3 miles before I got on the freeway, so I had missed the entrance.

  • @dentalrepairs

can we ride in there? I know some CP lanes require dual people in cars -_-

  • Nice, I've always wanted a rebel. some day. I respect riders, whenever I see one coming from either side, I try give them more space.

  • About to buy a 2000 Honda Rebel that I found with less than 400 miles on it. It was in some storage unit. O do I wish that we could do this lane splitting here in Florida. Since I am in home care for hospice patients it would make my life a lot easier since I am on the road all day going from house to house.

  • @gwh0205 It's dangerous to split between traffic, but it's more dangerous to be stuck in traffic as explained to me by a CHP motorcycle police officer. Good luck on your Honda Rebel find. I ride mine every day to save on fuel and ride my big cruiser on weekends with the wife.

  • @gwh0205

Dam how much? mine is a 1999 that had 3500 miles on it

  • @gwh0205 I've seen people split lanes in Boston and Las Vegas, you are risking getting a ticket though. With only 400 miles on the bike, it's a great buy if you keep the price under $2k. Only thing is that "o" rings and seals will sometimes go bad when you don't use the bike, so keep your eyes on any oil leaks after you ride the bike for a few days even weeks. Seals and O rings on the rebel are cheap and easy to replace.

  • Up here in oregon its illegal and for good reason. Drivers are dumb. You just ride by to close and retards slam on their brakes in fear. We also have a lot of lazy lane changers who don't look. Kudos for not stopping and kickin that dudes ass for risking your good health and bike cause. If you don't like people lane splitting why would you do the one thing your avoiding, colliding with the rider is not gonna stop people from lane splitting

  • Nice riding man. I hope to get me one in 6 months! Thanks for posting.

  • That may be legal but it's still stupid.

  • las ventajas de tener moto

  • Hey man I'm wanting to buy a honda rebel and I want to move to california with my dad is this bike a good commuter for work taking the interestates?

  • @Sauron767 I own more than one bike... I always seam to pick the rebel for my M-Thrus. riding. Juts can't beat 80mpg + Good luck finding a rebel, they are tough to find these days at a reasonable price, but they are out there, keep looking and be safe.

  • @dentalrepairs Not hard to find at all where I'm from. Theres a bike shop downtown that literally always has close to a dozen of them all under 3k. I personally wouldn't be caught dead riding a rebel but to each his own.

  • @Sauron767 I own more than one bike... I always seam to pick the rebel for my M-Thrus. riding. Juts can't beat 80mpg + Good luck finding a rebel, they are tough to find these days at a reasonable price, but they are out there, keep looking and be safe.

  • @dentalrepairs

Thanks man appreciate btw I got it and it's AWESOME!!!!!! but it's not ca CARBed its a 99 will i have to have a CARB canister thing on it? do motorcycles HAVE to be emissions tested?

  • I split lanes everyday on the way home in Houston. I know it's not legal here but it turns my 1 hour commute into a 20 minute ride easily. Luckily the people here are too busy talking on their cell phones to block me from passing. Great vid.

  • @johnseoulkr Just be careful out there, too many people not paying attention doing other things besides driving their car.

  • lame

  • hate then motorists go between cars

  • My posts were just updated... saw a current post by dental guy . At least he is alive and hasn't been hurt yet... good luck driving like that. :)

  • No responses since march 2010 by dentalrepair ? In a nursing home or worse ? If you leave for work earlier , you wouldn't have to drive like that. Or you could drive in the left lane that was OPEN ? How many MIRRORS on trucks @ cars have you hit ? And LAST but not least... that "jerk" in the truck as you call him... HOW do you even know he SAW YOU driving a small bike ? Hope you aren't dead. Or maybe you are driving a electric wheel chair now @ "threading the needle"

  • Looks more like he changed lanes then tried to cut you off. I dont see anything wrong with cutting traffic as long as your not doing it 40 miles over the speed limit.

  • @Servatis17 If you think I'm going fast, you should see the CHP motorcycles splitting traffic

  • Ok people in order to finally put this issue to rest, and for those who continue to doubt if lane splitting or "Threading the Needle" as I call it is legal in California, but the law may not be the same in different states of the USA,please do a search for lane splitting laws in your state on the 'net. I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It seems that "cagers" are more dangerous on a highway with their stupid habits like what dentalrepairs says he experiences than lanesplitting.

  • dentalrepairs; As a fellow Honda Rebel rider, I must say that you definately have talent at what is called "lane splitting", but I call it "threading the needle", and correct me if I am wrong, but isn't lane splitting legal in California?? It is just the idiots in the "cages" that you have to watch out for, especially people either talking on their cell phone or texting while driving that makes it dangerous IMHO. Do you have Jardine pipes on your Rebel? Those pipes are extremely loud. Ride Safe.

  • @renegadebiker24 I see drivers talking on their phones, putting on makeup, reading, making out or just not looking back to their blind spots before the merge or turn. It's crazy out here, but I lane split all the time. I got side swiped by a driver that didn't like me splitting lanes, they got cited and the CHP office and I hung out after at starbucks to talk about jerks that squeeze us out or just don't respect bikers. I showed him this video, he loved it. I have jardine pipes n they help.

  • @dentalrepairs wow, that is cool that you hanged out with the CHP officer. I bet you and him had a lot of stories to tell. Did the CHP officer cite that person for reckless driving??? I love the Jardine Pipes. Where I ride here in Northwest Arkansas, people do the same, or they also do the lane drift a lot, but thanks to those Jardine pipes, it makes them pay attention. It rattles their brains and their windows. I have even neighbors that complain when I start it up in front of my home at idle.

  • @dentalrepairs haha, i take the 5 everyday to work, and sometimes people don't see me in my fuckin suv. dangerous stuff, bro. don't have a bike but want one bad. i wouldn't take the freeway tho, i'd go on morena blvd to work. peace!

  • @dentalrepairs @dentalrepairs haha, i take the 5 everyday to work, and sometimes people don't see me in my fuckin suv. dangerous stuff, bro. don't have a bike but want one bad. i wouldn't take the freeway tho, i'd go on morena blvd to work. peace!

  • I didn't say anything about what will get you or anyone else laid. I said when you grow up maybe, just maybe you will. Don't get me wrong here, I don't think there is anything wrong with your Rebel, hell, I think they are kinda cute. My 16 year old daughter rides one as well as many of my gay friends so to each his/her own as far as that goes. Nothing stupid about splitting lanes but, some of the chances you took were. Oh, and I hate to tell ya this but, the whole world is not looking at this.

  • @31flowdnar They are cute bikes ;) and don't get started on shifting attention to others, we're talking about you and me here. If there's nothing stupid about what I did, what are you referring to then? What chances? Did you not read the complete description of the video? I'm not looking for attention, you've given the video all the attention by watching it and posting your comments, thank you for being a fan.

  • @dentalrepairs No, we are not talking about me here, its you. You put up the video, not me and, there were some risky moves you made. Young people are watching this and think its cool. Its not and, neither are you. Not enough character space to explain it all but the video can only speak for itself. The guy in the truck was trying to move right and did not expect you to be where you where and there are other times when you should have waited. I am not a fan but you are intitled to your fantasy.

  • Judging from this video I would be willing to bet you have had a lot of dental repairs. Maybe when you grow up and are capable of riding a big boy's bike you will get laid youself and won't have to resort to playing in the middle of the freeway to get your rocks off. Some people will do anything to get attention when they can't get it any other way I guess. Also, if you can't take criticisim from other posters you should not post stupid videos of yourself doing stupid stuff.

  • @31flowdnar What's so stupid about splitting traffic? I left the criticism up if you noticed, so I can take it and responded back cause I felt like it. Please tell the whole world what a big boy should ride that will get you laid, it's the first I've heard of such thing. So, when you have a chance, be more specific to what your talking about cause your comments don't make sense.

  • The only A-hole I see is the one on the bike. You are a stupid spoiled punk that gives all bikers a bad name. Dumb fucker.

  • @randwolf13 Why would you post this on my video? We don't even know each other and I'm not sure where your anger is coming from. Why are you so upset over the video? Sorry, but I have to report you to youtube for such an obscene comment. Please don't ever look at my videos or comment on them again... maybe you need to go get laid more often to be at peace.

  • @randwolf13 agreed.

  • CM 250 HONDA CHOPPER

  • good way to get your self killed

  • @kringle02 It's actually safer than being in traffic. Why it's illegal in most American states is beyond me. Home of the free indeed.

  • @jack0305 "Home of the free" does not mean that you are free to put other people in danger by being reckless. Your rights end where my nose begins or my property begins. Putting yourself in traffic is exactly what you are doing when you choose to ride on the freeway regardless whether you lane split or not. I am not opposed to lane splitting but this guy is going about it all wrong and is a danger not only to himself but to others and their property too which we are not free to do.

  • @31flowdnar How's the splitting lanes dangerous in this video? Please be more specific cause everyone is so quick to judge without realizing they are watching a video and were not there actually riding with me.

  • legal or not its stupid. when i see you laying on the side of the road ill make sure to film it so everyone can see what happens when you ride like a moron.

  • @scottyweir He's not riding like a moron...it's legal as he stated in the description and also in the description he said that the footage looks faster than what he was actually doing. I don't understand why you would waste your time to bash someone, even though he's not breaking the law in anyway.

  • Yeah..the guy in the TRUCK was the a-hole....heh

  • Lane splitting here in Florida will get you a ticket. Even riding on the shoulder when there is a traffic jame will get you a ticket.

  • you would have been safer and faster just riding in the car pool lane.

  • @trwsandford I agree with you, but I can't merge to the carpool lane and break the DYL (double yellow lines) or I would get a ticket, I did finally make it over to the carpool lane, but it's not on video.

  • @dentalrepairs not exactly true..

with a motorcycle in the Peoples Republic of Kalifonia , you can actually use the double yellow lines of the carpool lane as your very own lane. This is considered lane sharing of the carpool lane. I was confused on this point until I spoke with a CHP bike cop specifically about the issue. He cleared it up for me.

Stay safe, ride aware, and keep riding!

  • @trwsandford Ok, you need to post their badge number so we can quote him, cause my friend just got a ticket for crossing double yellow lines on the carpool from a CHP motorcycle officer.

  • what a moron. do you know how dangerous that is. yo could have serously injured yourself or someone else.

  • hahah I Just got my CMX and my balls might get caught in the chain if i decided to do this. Its very illegal in NC. Doubt Ill try it with a 250. Nice vid tho!

  • @andy2964 If it's not legal in your state, don't do it. Take easy and enjoy riding.

  • I have a Honda Rebel 250 CC (2009) - do you suggest riding with a windshield?

  • @tubewatcher314 Get a clear windshield, just easier to ride at night with. They do help lots with freeway riding.

  • Why are so many people leaving negative comments here? I don't ride a motorcycle, I don't even think splitting traffic is legal where I live, but even I know that what you're doing is not stupid, nor is it a stunt! This is the problem with people today, everyone's got a strong opinion, but nobody is knowledgeable about the topic at hand. You're totally in the right man, keep on ridin'!

  • one day some buddy will change lanes and you will have no ware to go but hit that car and go down and slide you could end up under a car or a car or truck run you over it's just better off smart stay on the bike keep the bike on its weels and give other drivers space so in case something happens you will have a chance t swerve out of the way

  • i buddy of mine broke his leg doing this stunt after a car changed lanes and he had noware to go but hit the car his leg never healed right and uses a cane to walk think about it

  • @vivitar45 Sorry but splitting traffic is not a stunt, it's part of riding through traffic and yes I've seen many accidents while lane splitting. There's a youtube video out there with a guy illegally splitting traffic in the carpool lane, the minivan decides to cross the double yellow line and the biker got hurt.

So, keep in mind that anything can happen when you ride a motorcycle, shoot, anything can happen now while I'm typing this to you also. Enjoy life and just ride responsibly.

  • what's the difference between the rebel cmx250c and cmx250cd? There is a $150 difference on KBB for them and was wondering why..

  • I'm looking into the rebels... What an average mileage for your specific year?

  • @ThaBR33D If you ride the rebel hard, about 60mpg, if you take it easy and try to stay behind large cars at a safe distance but catching less wind drag, well over 80mpg. Get a windshield, it will help with fuel economy, don't forget to replace spark plugs and keep your chain clean/lubed.

  • @dentalrepairs I meant the odo. :P

  • Pretty stupid move man

  • ive only been riding for about 4 years. not that much experience compared to others, but that is just plain stupid. i say that but it probably would be fun, but still stupid. i dont trust the enemy ( cars ) enough to try that. gotta drive like everyones out to kill you. your just asking to get hit.

  • Nope, wasnt me. But then I am from Florida where we ride in a straight line. I dont get it. You say its NOT ok for the vehicle to move about their lane, yet its ok for a motorcycle to zip in and out of what ever lane he wants and be where ever he wants. Thats F*CKED UP and STUPID. I dont care what state you are from. STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES ! Stupid bike riders scrap their ass off the road.

  • You shud have been hit

  • Thanks Tyler, people like you make me laugh cause all you do is make wishes. Keep dreaming ;)

  • Thanks for the comment, but why would you want someone to get hit and injured? Your kidding right? Sounds like you grew up abusing animals also, get some help.

  • Legal or not, this is just F'ing STUPID to do. !!!!! The car (or truck) had ever right to move around in HIS lane. I saw nothing wrong with it. I DO however see LOTS wrong with what you are doing. I hope you learn your lesson and get some nice, nasty road rash and put an end to you riding days.

  • that is such an easy out for you to say "legal or not". It's legal and that's the bottom line. Sure the car/truck can move around in their lane, but they can't be purposely cutting off motorcycles just cause we're splitting traffic. California DMV states you are not allowed to be swerving or going back and forth in your lane. You must maintain a straight line at all times. Otherwise, you can be ticketed. Thanks for the best wishes, you were probably the Ahole in the truck huh?

  • @dentalrepairs Nope, wasnt me.

  • I am looking at purchasing a 250 Rebel (2007). What is your overall take on the bike? This will be my first purchase, and have been learning on a 250 Ninja. Thanks and great video!

  • cool bike, and nice ride. I find the lane splitting completely unnecessary and risky especially considering the carpool lane was open the entire time. Just be safe!

  • I ride inside the carpool lane often, but I couldn't merge there cause there was no opening. I can't go inside while there's double yellow lines or I'll get a ticket. I could have done it at the end, but my exit was coming up. Thanks for your comment.

  • Nonetheless you have to pretty skilled and have good reflexes for that kind of driving so tab for that. Oh, and how do you see the rebel when compared to the Yamaha virago(i think it may be like v-star or something now)250cc, and the Suzuki GZ250. Better? Worse? All similar? I'm looking into all three for my first bike(obviously I will only choose one..) and need some input.

  • Thanks, it helps that I ride every day for at least 100-150 miles for work. I've been on the Virago and enjoyed it very much, haven't tried the Suzuki but it's all about comfort. I'm 180lbs and only 5'7", so I would fit in those bikes pretty good.... a windshield is always nice if your going to be doing long freeway/highway commutes.

  • Virago 250 is a slightly faster bike than the Rebel, it also feels much bigger, its taller, wider, and overall just a larger 250 bike. It Also has a Vtwin which gives it a nice sound for a 250.

The GZ250 is also larger than the rebel, not quite as large as the Virago though. I think the GZ is the most comfortable although sadly they top off around 70mph 75 WoT (For me at 6.0 180lb). Virago does tops 85 MPH WOT and Rebel has gotten to 82-85 as well. If I had to pick one Id say virago for size.

  • Looks fun. How many times have you gotten pulled over for riding between the lanes like that?

  • Zero, it's legal in California as long as you stay under 45mph. I think I might have hit 40mph while I shot this video.

  • @dentalrepairs Lol, here in miami people think anything is legal when no cops are around. It's basically my motivation to be a LEO.

  • This shit got me revved. Bitchin'.

  • Enjoy the ride while you can.

  • So many things can happen in life, why live with the fear of what could happen? As a Military Vet, I tell you this, live your life to the fullest with no regrets. Now, how do you use a straw for the other stuff you mentioned? LOL Now you got me curious!

  • Yes, live life to the fullest, but try not to die to the fullest either. I was machine gun fodder in Nam. I hear ya, but try to stick around so you can pile some good memories on top of those ugly ones. Splitting cagers might cut that chance short. You can roll the dice, or own the dice...know what I mean? Now for pussy through a straw, first ya gotta find some pussy...

  • Ok, I'm gona have to delete your comments mostly cause I don't approve of explicit language. You are welcome to comment on post on my site, but please try to do it in a manner that doesn't make you sound so mean. You sound so much better after you get to know me a little bit. Thanks for your post. I will delete your other two comments around Midnight.

  • Sorry...I will endeavor to refrain from deleterious aphorisms, colloquial idioms, and prefunctory disinformative expletives in the future.

  • This is the kind of riding that gives bikers a bad rep. I'm assuming you're just young and stupid, and probably in the hospital by now, but this was a dangerous vid to post. More than just a few morons out there are going to try this, and will probably get seriously hurt. Fuck you in the ass sideways with the freaking trailer you live in for posting this piece of shit.

  • Wow, who pissed you off? We don't know each other do we? LOL Just making sure cause I'm like one of the easiest and coolest friends to have, so I'm shocked at your post. What kind of riding are you refering to from the video that gives bikers a bad rep? Everything done on this video is legal... even when I give the guy the finger LOL. I'm a Vet, so you go figure how old I am. I live in San Diego City, not Lakeside, no trailers here. What's with the gay comment also? Thanks for the laugh :)

  • Gosh...who braided your hemorrhoids?

  • i carry a bag of marbles....go to toys r us and buy some...they dont do so good at 60 mph hitting a windshield...lol

  • Wow, never thought about that, most of the time I manage to just spit a good shot at their windows.

  • lol yeah...

  • if someone switches lanes your screwed, triple summersault and the you hit the pavement

  • I can also get hit by lighting during a storm, or slide on some loose gravel, maybe even get hit at a red light.

  • true, as for me I try not to ride or drive in storms and I would consider spitting very dangerous, If I'm on a bike and I see people about to get on the road I make sure I make I contact with them before passing them to make sure they see me, (especially if its an old lady) lol

  • Yeah but if someone suddenly switches lanes to get to thier exit or street then your screwed, triple summersault and the you hit the pavement hard and them maybe get ran over

  • Lane splitting is dangerous because of idiots in steel cages. I've seen lane splitting all over europe and everyone in cars cooperates. Lane splitting in downtown Athens is organized chaos but somehow it worlks.

American cage drivers thing they own the road. They're the reason for wrecks, not the dudes rockin' their CMXs.

I'm ready for LS to come to Texas! Hurry!!

  • That's it, you state the biggest problem with American drivers, we think we own the roads and seeing a motorcycle split lanes only makes them hate us more. Just yesterday another guy in a truck squeezed me in for no reason. Geez, get a motorcycle if you hate sitting in traffic.

  • haha everyones jealous what takes them 1 hour to get to a place it takes a motorcyclist like 30 minutes

  • I agree, it's jealousy that makes people post negative comments. Be safe out there.

  • i would love to see a person on a motorcycle doing this get hit...hit hard! they deserve it.

  • you need to go to liveleak to see that type of video. Nobody deserves to get hit hard just cause they are lane splitting when it's legal in California.

  • As a paramedic in FL I've seen some sick motorcycle accidents, and San Diego is far crazier. You're just another one waiting to happen. Plus if someone does manage to splatter your brains, tons of witnesses will be present to confirm that your dead carcass is responsible for the damage done to the other persons car. Moron.

  • As a PA in Southern California, I'm shocked at the lack of professinalism by your comments. Good luck in your career and I hope you resolve your motorcycle issues.

  • Lack of professionalism? Possibly. But a PA doing that stupid crap and filming it, even more unprofessional. Hell, you've probably worked on patients involved in these wrecks. Just because it hasn't happened yet don't mean it won't. Keep in check with Daytona local news as Biketoberfest promises to bring more dead carcasses and the un-reported incidents of people living as a vegetable the rest of their life. Godspeed.

  • Doing what stupid crap? Can you be more specific? Everything you see on my video is legal out here in California so I still don't understand your anger. If you see the entire video, it's porpuse is to show how drivers are rude to motorcyclists. That guy in the truck tried squeezing me between him and the next car, yet you are going off on me? Some people just get mad at motorcyclists for lane splitting, when it's completly legal in California. Ride a motorcycle if you can't stand traffic.

  • I have a rebel too, this is just one of the perks.. f-the rebel haters! this video made my day man be safe out there.

  • I have no problem with lane splitting, but the traffic in the HOV lane is moving faster than you are.. why not ride over there?? Unless of course you need an exit thats coming up soon.

  • I hate lane spliting my buddy does it on his busa all the time and i just stay behind the car.

  • Lane splitting is done in every country but the U.S (except it is legal in Cali). People say it is dangerous but I don't think it is any more dangerous than being behind some of these quacks. I just wish people would learn to use their blinkers and watch were the hell they are going.

  • It's dangerous to split traffic, but it's legal out here in California as long as you stay bellow 45mph.

  • lots of places make lane splitting illegal for rider safety... ~_~ just because a bike is supposed to be given as much room on the road as a car... but I'm east coast what do I /shrug... totally different world there.

  • The fact that the camera has a 50mm lens and a hard rock song doesn't mean I was driving 55mph or more while splitting traffic. I was splitting traffic at the allowed speed as per the California DMV manual. 45mph or less. I also agree that it's the timid riders, the ones that hesitate or can't control their bike that cause the accidents. The guy in the truck cutting me off totally did it on purpose, he saw me and just decided to move into my lane. Enjoy my videos.

  • Why is everyone being so negative and mean. First, how many of you have driven the 5 north, the 10 west, or the hollywood 101 in rush hour, all being in southern california. If you havent then shut it, a motorcycle and lane splitting which second..IS LEGAL in socal is the most quick, economic, and most efficient way to get around in LA. There is no way you would wait around in traffic like all the cagers. Its the motorcyclist who are timid that cause accidents are the ones who give the bad name

  • Im worried about getting cage-sandwiched, or running out of gas, or inattentive cage drivers in flat-out stopped traffic thats prolly the only times i would lane-split, legal or not, i wouldnt just drive there like its my right to ride between the lanes, it should be legal for the right reasons, getting out of a potentially bad situation (ie, broken down or smashed between cars) i ride a rebel and you gotta have brass balls to ride in redonkulous traffic like that!

  • Before calling someone a name for posting a video on youtube, could you at least explain why? Is there no more friendly people in this world? Please read all the comments before you make any opinions on things.

  • you are an idiot. I'm a biker and I hate bikers like you. you give us all a bad name

  • When I went to Europe you would see about 4 or 5 bikers following each other splitting traffic, it was insane!

  • Oh, I think if I would have chosen some classical music that might have made the whole video look slower. LOL Hey, enjoy the ride and don't forget to wave, even if you ride a scooter.

  • By the way people, if you don't care for my videos, you don't have to come back to see them. I'm just posting my commutes for people to experience the thrill of riding, not to argue with people.

  • You can split traffic in California at a maximum of 45mph. Check your DMV motorcycle manual. Also, the camera can only record at 15 frames per second, that means that everything will look 3 times faster than real life. Unless you were riding the bike at the time, how can you make negative comments on such a fun video? I'm not here to stop your comments, but wow, if you are that frustrated, go get laid so you can get more relaxed. Camera has 50mm lens, they make things look super fast.

  • 2:54 the Beetle changing lanes with no directional.. gotta love it! - Looks more like Massachusetts

  • Looks like some VERY unsafe riding to me.

  • What not to do? What do you mean mike? Haven't you guys ever driven in southern California traffic? You have to split it when it gets tight.

  • But not when traffic is moving along at 30-40mph!

This guy may not be a moron, but he's sure not the brightest bulb in the box.

  • you are a moron. Please take this video down as it makes bikers look bad. Or label it, "what not to do".

  • Lane splitting works fine IF it's done with care and the cars are at a snail's pace. They've done it in Europe for decades.

This looks like the cars are going 30-40 mph and this guy is just zipping through.

Extremely irresponsible, dangerous, callous and downright STUPID. Just wait until someone decides to open their door to dump their cold coffee on the road. That'll teach him to stop making other riders like bad.

    Bottomline:

Whatever you do on a bike reflects on all riders as a group.

  • Agreed.

  • All it would have taken was for that Yellow Beetle to not see you and change lanes.. ALL DONE ! - But hey you made it home.. Whew!
