  • Never really liked that black dude.

  • nice admission.. that looks very interesting...

  • is it possible to transfer from community college?

  • My sister just left to get on a flight. She went to Northwestern University in Chicago. She has a little trial for seeing if they think she is good enough to get in. She has a Red-Eye flight. It is now 11:07 an night. Her flight leaves at 1:00 A.M. . Now it is 11:08. P.M. .

  • Have fun paying more for a degree that is weighted the same as any other one cats...

  • nathan kim represent

  • i've climbed over the great fire wall of china just to say....please admit me :) pretty please

  • i hope i can get in!

  • @nb6918 what?

  • best school EVER!!! i miss NU!!

    GO CATSSSSS!!!!

  • hey guys im just 12 and i really want to go there what do you have to do to gget into northwestern my grades are only a's and b's. if you can tel me ill get ready for northwestern then be able to have the job of my life computer engineering oh yea how much is it going to cost to pay for northwestern? thanks!

  • @wertxy1234 Study very hard, and focus. I graduated there. Went to the Evanston campus, then to the Chicago one for medicine, for my MD. Study! Study! Study! And you will have a great future. Plus beliven in Adonai and Yeshua! Focus and you will make it.

  • this sucks that they dont give people who didnt a make a 2300 on the sat a chance, its ashame that they do that. there are plenty of people who are just as smart as these kids who didnt so well on thee sat. sad the college sees what it wants to see and doesnt give anyone a chance

  • what r pre med school requirements

  • NU is tied with WashU.

I never thought I would ever mention NU and WashU in the same sentence... WashU is not a peer of NU...

  • cause chicago isnt a diversified area?

  • gee they are so unhappy that 97% comes back after their freshmen year, HIGHER than Georgetown's retention rate.

As for looks, sure the student body at NU may not be as good looking as Georgetown but if you choose schools based on how hot the girls are, again you have some serious issues. I would turn down the girls here at USC to go to NU in a heart beat.

Also its well-known that many Harvard/Yale/Princeton rejects attend both school, so don't act like GU doesn't suffer the same syndrome.

  • If you are having trouble navigating a campus that is 240 acres, then you probably have serious issues.

As for diversity, Georgetown only 22% minorities whereas NU is over 21% asians alone and 10%+ blacks and hispanics. I wouldn't count on seeing foreign tourists in DC as diversity unless you've only seen white people your whole life.

  • Ugh did you go there? Georgetown's reputation pales in comparison to Northwestern. What programs are good at GU except international relations and foreign studies? NOTHING. Their pathetic endowment is only 1/7 the size of NU, way too small to carry out meaningful research.

As for psychiatric hospitalization, that's just absurd. While NU's academics are rigorous, its not cutthroat compared to MIT, Caltech or UChicago. You better back up your statement with some source pal.

  • Are you kidding me? Georgetown?!?!I don't even go to NU and I think that is ridiculous

The school is basically known for its IR program. Any other program is 2nd rate and 3rd rate. Its student body is made of preppy and arrogant pricks. I guess puking frat boys and passed out sorority girls in a campus smaller than a community college must be your thing.

It's academic/research reputation pales in comparison with top colleges in every way. I left Georgetown Day embarrassed that I even visited.

  • This was an incredibly self-serving video. As a member of the class of '12 just finishing his freshman year, I always resented the way the administration made a point of telling their students how smart they are, and to make us feel like we're entitled to so much.

Northwestern is an amazing school, and I've thoroughly enjoyed the past year, but I disagree with the notion that our stats make us superior human beings. We're not.

  • @woppinbob Really liked this comment.

  • Accepted! Totally going there!

  • Aw im happy for you! A little jealous but happy for u! Have fun

  • My Brother Goes there, totally cool school... a little heavy on the academics and light on the party though....

  • i got in! :D :D :D

    2280 SAT, 34 ACT, ~3.6+ GPA.

  • Well, don't just look at the numbers. Numbers make statistics; they don't make a student.

  • yes! hopeful for 2013 here too :)

  • what would you say the chances of a high school student with a 34 act, 2200 sat, 3.64 GPA (up to 2nd sem. junior year), majority ap/honors classes, Student Council President, varying government clubs, and a much better personal statement/letter than average getting in to Northwestern's political science school??

  • well i got in with only a 28 ACT ( no SAT scores) but with a 4.67 gpa. 3 sports. ap and honors class all four years and a few other extra curricular activities. everything looks good just try to do anything you can to bump up your gpa a bit. it's very competitive and they really get down to the nitty gritty details. oh and make sure you are taking classes that are relevant towards political science, there is a possibility of rejection if you dont. hope this helped!

  • yes, it's always good for me to hear the stats or w.e of people who got into Northwestern. Its very much appreciated.

i should get those test scores (32-35; 2000-2200), my gpa mathematically cant get higher than 3.63 (3.58 - 3.63 is a realistic range)

    BUT

I did get into their college prep program; I will take some political science class(es) with other northwestern freshmen, sophomores.

    really appreciate your input

  • Hey what about the chances of being top 1% (rank 6 out of 600) in high school with a GPA of 4.7 and considerable amount of extracurricular/volunteer involvement BUT an ACT score of 25?

That dang ACT score of mine just kills it.

  • northwestern SAYS that they accept with a minimum of 29. but i got a 28 and still was accepted. since you have such a high gpa, high ranking, and good amount of involvement, they will probably look at that and realize that you are a good student. not all people are good at standardized tests, and they should understand that. it will depend on how many people will apply and what they have.

  • what are you talking about? admissions never claims any minimums or cut-offs. it never has and never will.

  • i got a 27 and got in. i didn't go tho

  • @scardillyosis

please tell me you are caucasian...I'm applying with a 29 and really want to go.

    (36,32,24,23)

  • Yes, I am. Just have a lot of passion and personality and determination. You'll be fine! : )

  • @TheGreekFromCHI good luck, alot of kids get in their high 30's

  • and better essay than average (even for northwestern advocates)

  • why ask me? I haven't heard about the decision yet :(.

You can look up/research their statistics online.

  • I'm with ya, man!

  • *sigh* prospective student of 2013!
