  • DJ Bruce Jefferson use to manage The Boogie Woogie Man!

  • I want to thank all my peoples. Your Boogie Man loves you all. LOL

  • is it just me or did Paul Jones look exactly like the dad from Webster

  • This segment production quality is about perfect for pro wrestling which has been without a doubt the greatest sport in the USA over the last 30 years.

This is the kind of TV that made life worth living.

The 2nd best thing on TV at this time was WWF w/ Jesse & Gorilla.

  • Ur right....

  • boogie woogie man sounds like he is retarded.....LOL

  • B4 Wrestlemania, it was Starcade- I was at Starcade ' 83' in NJ at the Meadowlands arena...I had my Mr. Wrestling mask on and thought I was the #1 Ricky the Dragon Steamboat fan...

  • @trezuru Correction- I was not at Starcade '83', but attended the 1st NWA wrestling card on the east coast in 25yrs(Meadowlands Arena)...Spencer Christian of Ch. 7 news was the host..Flair vs Steamboat, The Road warriors, Junkyard dog, Jay Youngblood, Boogie Woogie Jim Valiant, Bundy were on the udercards.

  • @trezuru I think you attended "the first NWA card in NJ or the Meadowlands Arena in 25 years," not "the first NWA card on the East Coast in 25 years." From its inception, the NWA had a strong presence from Baltimore to Jacksonville. The Flair/Steamboat rivalry had been playing strong in the South since 1977, and Starcade '83 was in Greensboro, NC. For the period 1950-1984, the few times the NWA ventured into the Northeast were trips taken by the traveling NWA champ.

  • my blood willy willy

  • i love big mama!

  • wow a worthless cocksucker drunk with the blues 2 yrs after getting his ass packed in memphis

  • did you know jv got caught in the dressing room sucking tony faulk off at the memphis colliseum 1983

  • @steviemacful who's tony faulk? Valiant was gay?

  • I love the fact that they were using the Frank Stallone hit "Far From Over",lol. I miss the "Control Centers". Wrestling will never be the same for many reasons, but moments like this will never die thanks to youtube.

  • Did she say "Let's Go Party" or Lets Go Potty"?

  • @ltrott3 she said (potty)-translation-(party)=thats our language, we call it southern ebonics

  • This is when wrestling was the da bomb!!

  • @kelbrew75 looking back, the territory days were awesome lol

  • Comment removed

  • tony schiavone's epic porn stache

  • the feuds in the NWA were awesome and intense....i miss those days.

  • im feelin the outfit

  • Hendo go lat

    Sandra Gamat

  • Jimmy was pretty popular in JCP. He was almost up there with Magnum, and Dusty.

  • God only knows,the Boogie Man,well.....is a NUT...Hahahaha!!

  • LOL look at all those beer cans, looks like my yard. this was filmed close to were I live.

  • Listen to that phony voice on Schiavone

  • BALD-HEADED GEEK~!

  • @zaius316 love that saying lol

  • Only the Boogie Man could be cool in a stationwagon.

  • Boogey man look like he could played with ZZ Top

  • C'mon Boogie! Let's party!

  • also, the clip here is not complete. I want to see the whole thing...

  • I wonder what Jim crockett is doing these days. Probably retired...

Anyways, does anyone have the infamous event when Manny fernandez was bought by Paul jones and the raging bull hit Valliant with the suitcase? I can't find it on youtube

  • Crockett blew it when they took Starrcade out of Greensboro. That was the birthplace of Starrcade and when they moved it (did two different locations), the people in Greensboro took it personally.

  • And Ric Flair said in his book, Greensboro never forgave them for taking Starrcade away and they pretty much lost that city for some years if memory serves.

  • There was nothing wrong with a double card, but, yes, they blew it when they moved to Chicago and had the undercards in G'boro and New Orleans (non-televised). As for Valiant, after this, he was pushed down the card at JCP. Some said that it was Dusty's doing. Valiant eventually left and returned to Memphis.

  • This was just on WWE 24/7 a couple weeks ago.

I loved the Valiant/Paul Jones rivalry. Paul Jones was great.

  • i remember watching this as a kid. This was the classic stuff. Thanks for posting.

  • Paul Jones was awesome

  • Tony Schiavone? What the Hell?

  • Your a idiot.

  • Agreed! Major idiot!!!!!!

  • where big moma

  • Classic! Jimmy Valiant is a wrestling legend and it was a pleasure to see him in his prime, thank you for sharing this video!

  • Its teh boogie wagon!!!

  • BOOGIE had and has more soul in him than any brother i ever met in my life.i Met BOOGIE twice and both times was a great pleasure. He is and always will be one hell of a man !

  • that big mama looked like a hooker to me when i 1st saw here step outta tha whip!

  • I saw Magnum TA in his last match in Greenville SC at The Big Brown Box 1986 LIVE baby!! Pistol Pez Whatley shaved Boggie's head in da ring!! Why is The Boggie Man trying to sound like a brother. LOL

  • because he is trying to rip off Dusty Rhodes, he was just a generic Dusty Rhodes ripoff

  • so this was obviously between Magnums accident and Nikitas face turn as hes not mentioned as a challenger to the world title. I hope they weren't really thinking of doing another Dusty-Flair match at that show.

  • @mrp0518 This was a week or two before the Horseman attack in the Pparking lot on Dusty and Nikita showing up as his partner. I had heard rumor that if Magnum would have not been injured, the main would have been him and Flair. Don't know if the title change would have happened there are if would have been a lead-in

  • How did Baron turn face? I know it happened around this time.

  • @JMFabianoRPL He didn't formally turn face what happened was Baron was teaming with Dick Murdoch vs Rude & Bull. Murdoch didnt take his tag and then gave him a brainbuster. A week after Baron gave a promo where he said that Paul Jones had "hurt him in his heart". I remember that after Baron said that the crowd started cheering and screaming not for him but b/c it was time for a RocknRoll express match the next time we saw Baron he was escorting Boogie from the ring at Starcade 86.

  • @JMFabianoRPL all i remember is Paul Jones doing an interview on World Championship Wrestling before Starrcade and Jones telling Baron to stay away from him, and i never saw what happened for him to say that....

  • Big Momma was just a jigglin all around!

  • remember when I was 15, Mom saved up money so I can buy a Harmonica at the Music House in Indiana, PA lol...don't even have that as tons of things

    JIMMY VALIANT & BIG MAMA

    RIP MOM

  • oh can't forget "BIG MAMA"

  • Paul Jones was buying out wrestlers in the good ole days, before the "Million Dollar Man" and also NWA wrestling seemed sooooo legit & real

BLUES music at the end, I feel your pain

    "BOOGIE WOOGIE MAN" Jimmy Valiant

thanks for posting this classic clip koufy

  • Bald headed geek!! Bald headed geek!!

  • Does anyone know the name of the theme song for this Starrcade. Really want to know.

  • Far from Over by Sly Stallone's brother, Frank Stallone. They just took a part of the song and looped it

  • Think about it. Your big feud has gone the other guy's way, you've lost all your friends, cut angle after angle where you got the crap beat out of you. Are you going to cut a promo with Mean Gene Okerlund, hyped up, tanned and skin oiled up? Or are you going to be on the street sitting on an upside down bucket with a dozen empty cans of Natty Light by your feet? This is how every promo should be cut. WWE: Invest in a bucket, harmonica, and beer cans NOW. Awesome stuff. *****

  • That's why I loved the NWA and hated the WWF. It was so much more realistic and down to earth than the cartoonish crap the WWF presented. NWA had some muscleheads, but most wrestlers were just tough SOBs that wanted to fight.

  • i know boogie

  • Shoot I want to PARTY with Big Mama too! Come pick me up baby!!!

  • omg that was fuckin halrious

  • Ah the good ol days,. The NWA was great miss those days

  • Gawd I remember this. I was a huge Boogie Woogie fan at this time and I remember this being the first time I heard him speak in such a low tone. I used to watch this on my black & white tv with the rabbit ears. Memories!

  • The Boogie Woogie got the blues daddy uh huh

  • Check out the Boogie Man's website and click on the "floating head" under his bio link to see his Wrestling Camp.

    Mercy Daddy!

  • Remember this like yesterday over 21 years ago. First pay per view i ever watched.

  • Miss the glory days of wrestling.

  • I think Starrcade 87 was the last great Starrcade.

  • wow!!! this really takes me back.

I remember watching this promo on tv on a saturday. Thanks for posting this.

Number one paul jones!!! The boogie woogie man!!! This was wrestling.Nothing today comes close to this story line.

  • That was awesome, but it reminds me of how much trouble I was in for for painting Mom's wagon like that after seeing this on TV back in the day.

  • does anyone have any clips of ron garvin as "Miss Atlanta Lievly"?

  • The song is I'm A Man by Bo Diddley, the flip side of his first record, "Bo Diddley" Muddy Waters recorded "Mannish Boy" a couple of months later.

  • # 1 Paul Jones one of the greatest monikers by one of the greats in the history of the business god I miss old time wrestling

  • i about forgot about paul jones

  • I'd like to know what the song is. I want to say it hoochie coochie man but I know that isnt right.

  • The song is "Mannish Boy" originally sung by Muddy Waters but that's not Muddy singing it in this clip.

  • now that is one sweet ride...

  • great promo! who sings this blues song from boogie woogie man?

  • ZZ Top was so cool back in the day

  • I don't mean to be rude, but doesn't Paul Jones look like Hitler?

  • I always thought that too.

  • I remember this! Notice in the background in the last 10 seconds the people watching from a distance and trying to stay out of the camera shot. I guess Jimmy was supposed to be a bit drunk here! Funny stuff.

  • 1986 the last great Starrcade.

  • Any "charlie brown from outta town" hahahaha the boogie man was the best.

  • F- the promos of STARRCADE'86 play the complete video

of it and other STARRCADES,CLASH OF CHAMPIONS and all

other TURNER NWA-WCW videios.Thanks. I hope vince jr

rots for destroying sports entertainment out of pro

wrestling tryin'to force fans of real pro wrestling to

watch his foney money shit pile romper room trash.

  • I hear you brother.

  • I second that, dude.

  • I miss Big Mama....

  • Great old stuff. Post the matches if you can, please.

  • This is awesome. Thanks. This is one I never forgot. Boogie's down and out! And here comes Big Mama. Just a SHAKIN'! Classic.

  • Great stuff I thought I'd never see again. Thanks.
