  • Thumbs up if you replayed the rap so you could try to understand.

  • hahaha love it!!! :)

  • Imo, more work could have been done to tighten the parts. The turns, especially the quick bits and the end of lines, are messy. You can hear some of the voices lagging behind.

  • This is new. :)

  • this is so cool guys!

  • I think it's always the most interesting to look at the choiristers with animated expressions! Particularly if they look like they're complaining. Otherwise it looks like they're singing any old choir song. XD Haha they should look more upset! But this is really very entertaining. (((:

  • I couldn't decode some TLAs, still it was a nice song, funny lyrics sang by cute people. One of the best complaint choirs in my opinion.

  • I think the idea is there but the lyrics sux!

  • Although I agree with most of the complaints, I think the pregnant one isn't exactly valid anymore. I mean, sometimes there are people standing even when there are seats available o:

  • keep fighting !!!

  • i love the rap!

  • They're wrong.. it's : Kia Si, Kia Su & kia Zheng Hu ( not kia bo)

Beautiful song... it's great!!!! well done..!

  • @xp13 Drop me a e-mail if u want to look for me.

  • 我们不是中国的一部分!

  • Please air this for this years National day parade......I'm begging you please......

It will guarantee be a hit 8)

Dear fellow Singaporean,LETS SING IT TOGETHER!

  • @xp13 Thats me. :) U looking for me?

    MusicArtLifeSG Blogger:

    musicartlifesg at blogspot at com

  • @Weijie Sort of

  • HAHA! SO TRUE~!

  • 5:55 looks like the malay woman opened the door wif powers LOL

  • Amen Keep this song going all around the world You Peaple are all Loved and Herd

  • i agreed with everything except the rap cause i didn't understand it

  • @domk00 ya. and we actually drink the purified pee. lol.

  • Any plan to create a new complain song? cant wait ^^

  • Hahaha lol. :D

  • thumbs up if you tried visiting playboy.com after watching this

  • Not extremely funny at all...hasty generalizations...factual inaccuracies...unflattering musically...videographically weird...oh gosh.

  • this is so true! thanks for making me laugh till the tears rolled down my face.

  • i oso wan to join

  • careful with those complaints, might give the government new ideas on what to fine

  • What does all the acronyms stand for??

  • Life in Singapore is very good compared to most of the advanced countries. All they need is to maintain the comfortable level of living conditions and see that it does not deteriorate over the years. I love Singapore and its strict law enforcements.

BE RIGID SINGAPORE, ON YOUR LAW ENFORCEMENTS. YOU ARE THE BEST.

  • Awesome, singaporeans love and hate.

  • where are the singers from? which choir?

  • @ashtonsteiner: They are from Singapore and I was part of the choir.

  • Haha the tune's really catchy. =) though at times the lyrics are a bit difficult to fit in with the lyrics. haha.

And the very fact that the song's so long shows how many things we can complain about. xD I guess that though we have lots that we've been blessed with in Singapore, we all have to see what we can do to make the lives of Singaporeans better.

  • To be frank though I agree with the complaints in this video, I still feel that Singapore is still the most comfortable place to stay as compared to other nations around the world.

  • superficial problems are still problems, complains help to make the problem known so that it can be solved. it shows that we want to help make Singapore a better place.

  • Comment removed

  • LOL ! this is brilliant, I live in Hong Kong and 99% could be applied to here ... still I love this city

  • @MrNiceHk Can't agree more, i am from HK too and i feel like HK is falling behind.

I am afraid that I am going to like Singapore more than HK :-P

  • @lilsoulfish Never ! ... Singapore is like the good well behaved child that always hands its homework in time, whilst Hong Kong is out partying ; )

  • singaporeans are too calculative sometimes.

  • the point of this was, that every person can go and complain about whateva they want and then they put together a song. You cant call a counrty immature just cause of the song cause its what most normal ppl complain about. they complain about their regular everyday life. And not every country has the same problems. You cant compare it to Laos cause they dont have the same problems, so they wont be complaining bout it. they complain bout their everyday life not the problems of the world

  • Singapore's got the best complaints choir.

  • meh. you can complain about the same stuff here in america. whatever. 'cept we can have gum.

  • Having lived in Spore 1997 - 2002, I laughed my heart out. This was fantastic!

  • all these complains is what makes singapore a beautiful place to stay in.

  • Wow, I always thought Singapore was a nice country with respectful people. I am from America so I did not know Singapore had this many problems.

  • singaporeans eat shit for breakfast and are wretched scumbags.

  • why are all good looking guys gay?! LOLLL.

  • Lame, wasting your time to creats such a Lame Video and song. Don't be one that being lad by the nose of those who are ungrateful and who didn;t meettheir personl objectives., We should be happy and grateful of what we have and given, Look around you and around us, Many are suffering and worse than us> wake up if not migrate out!

  • what the fuck is wrong with the people of singapore? why do they all speak english? it's absurd ...

  • @FynnDynamite what? :/

  • @wearerocketscientist

i just didnt know, that english is actually Singapore's official language, and well ... it is fuckin stupid! Singapore has sold out it's culture

  • @FynnDynamite we actually have 4 official languages. malay, chinese, tamil and english. and trust me, we havent completely forgotten our roots lol.

  • We should have more of these around - really witty and at the very least entertaining, no matter how trivial or serious the issues being complained against really are.

Why do we complain so much? Simple. We are constantly told the good news, yet some of us experience otherwise and the bad news are often left out in one way or another.

  • Whoa, I think some people are taking this a bit too seriously. Look at the sidebar, there are Complaints Choir from Hamburg and Tokyo. Would you say that those other choirs are "narrow-minded" as well?

  • @MsNibot They are complaining because they have not seen the world. Maybe these people need to visit countries like Laos and find out how fortunate we are to live in Singapore. That said, all of them look like they have failed in life. Seriously, if you are living in Singapore and have so much complaints, you are a loser.

  • @UnSaintLike true. but if you look at other countries like the US, their quality of life may be better. Gotta compare to similar income group so that they will have access to similar facilities and then will we be comparing on their attitudes. Also, you said in your previous comments that just because they look weird and different then they're losers? i mean c'mon, compare bill gates to some male model and he'll look like a nerd, but he's like a gazillion times richer and more influential.

  • @UnSaintLike so who's the loser now? can't judge ppl by their looks. Complaint choir is just expressing their views on society, highlighting them and raising awareness that Sg ppl probably won't even say. Also maybe some genius might come up with solutions to these problems. Complaints are criticism, depends on how you view it being positive or negative. If you view it as positive you'll work on it and improve it, that's 1 of the ways society progress, the problem needs to be known.

  • @Jayzer313 I don't think Bill Gates complains like the people in the video. True that they may raise certain issues to others, but come on, life in Singapore is already very good.

  • These people really got no pride and very narrow-minded. But hey, I totally agree with UnSaintLike. they kinda look weird... I am proud to be part of singapore. think deeply... What about able to walk on the street safely without getting robbed or sexually harrassed, clean city, good accessibility and the multi-cultural environment.

we play our own part as a singaporeans. For eg, if u know plastic bags are hard to be recycle, use a shopping bag pls!

  • where can I download/buy this song?

  • This is a disgrace to Singaporeans. Makes me ashamed to be a Singaporean. Complain complain complain ...

About the complaint about people not giving up seats for pregnant women because they are 'pretending' to sleep .... I have one suggestion, Why not these people just open their mouth and ASK for the seat? Ask and it will be given. Sometimes, we are really tired and need a some shut-eye and we are NOT pretending. It doesn't hurt to just ASK. ASK and it will be given.

  • nice

  • No offense, these people look wierd and like they have failed in life. SIngapore is such a nice place to live in, what else is there to complain?

  • Why are some people Complaining that we complain so much? Isn't that kinda ironic. And also isn't it better that we sing our complaints instead of protesting like some other countries?

  • remake!

  • Come on this choir must go down the drain man. Sucha disgrace. Singaporeans behaving like this. If you think that managing a country is that easy please try it out. Put yourself in other people's shoe. You ain't no someone. Adults in the choir behaving like this. Come on you guys are old enough to think. If there are countries or cities in the world with no flaws, please tell me. I would like to stay there. This thing sucks.

  • That was awesome!

  • Initially I felt that this performance was wonderful. To my disappointment, I realised that later the National Anthem had been inappropriately used in the performance. It is appalling to see people in this video singing the "distorted version" of our national anthem.

  • Superb man !

    Where r they now ? I gonna join !

Complain about Singtel and Starhub sheeeiiit in this WC bidding scam !

  • Singaporeans appear to be gross. They blow their noses in pools and have pimply buttcracks. I hope this isn't true.

  • @337336324317313306

yeahh.. they blow their noses into swimming pools..

  • Yeah you singaporeans are good at traffic rules unlike Mah-lazy-a

  • oh singapore, how cute! complain all you want, singapore is still home

  • 'Why can't we be buried when we die?' I didn't get that.

  • @ineverfakejumps Well, due to Singapore being a small country, we have space constriant. We have a limit as to how many years we can be 'buried' underground. Most people opt for cremation. Sad, really :P

  • @ineverfakejumps the option for our bodies to be buried after we meet our maker is taken out mostly due to "space limitations". most people have no choice but to go for cremation instead. this usually sparks off more resentment in older folks due to traditional values. im personally okay with it actually, honestly speaking.

this video is quite a bit of ripoff from the one made from tokyo complaint choir anyway.

  • @flipthescript If I'm not wrong, the Singapore complaints choir video is made earlier, assuming that the date of posting the videos up are close to the dates of the actual performance.

  • @ineverfakejumps I think they've gotta be cremated - lack of land for cemetaries

  • @ineverfakejumps *cemeteries

  • singlish is hot

  • i have to say as a singaporean. ALMOST everything said here is kinda true.

  • Our govt is smart u know... If they silently hoard up wealth, its corruption. If they unbiasedly declare that all government workers should have their pay increased by 10%, its not corruption. Technically no. If they make a loss and keep quiet about it, its denial of failure. If they tell people that they averted the worse case scenario, and minimized losses its considered rephrasing but hei, its no reason to say that its a bad country. At least u know where the highest paying jobs are.

  • Great. Still miss home though, despite everything...

  • Singapore Government won't let this song be performed in public? So typical...

  • wow this is amazing. i'm a singaporean but ive been living in australia for the past 5 years... (i do visit sg occasionally.. friends and family) guess things havent changed much... lolz...

btw love the rap bit.. like wow... and the bit about recyling pee? awesome NEW water... haha...

@ russianpunch yeahh our govt izznt as corrupted but hey... rmb this song was banned from performing to the public...

  • HAhahahahaha - great! Just came from Japanese - you did a great job too! But a lot of "inside" comments that unless you lived there it is hard to understand.

Great job nevertheless, how ironic you got prohibited in the end to sing the song. Lol

    You made LKY cry!:)

  • Tokyo's complaint choir is a bit better, but I've only spent a week in singapore compared to the multiple times I've been to Tokyo. Hate the rush hours in Tokyo. Singapore isn't as stressful a society as Tokyo is.. It makes sense the more stressful/depressing it is the better complainer you are :P I mean these are spore's issues... thailand has more social problems indonesia, and malaysia too. but yea singapore still has its problems like every other city/country :D urbanites rule :D

  • Given time, we can improve a lot.

  • @RussianPunch - Also as a Canadian, I agree that Singporeans are not appreciative of their blessings but, unlike you, I wouldn't think that poorly of Canada. These ppl smilingly sing out their complaints rather than protesting violently in the streets like many other countries. What is surprising is that they did not complain about the outrageous salaries their government elitists have paid themselves. You would think that only dictators in some African countries plunder their coffers, eh?

  • "The indoors are cold, the outdoors are hot, and the humid air, it wrecks my hair" OMG. Even weather is being caused by Singapore?! Apply hair conditional la! Complain only. *Fainted*

  • wa i thought singapore is a rich country?..what's with all this hullabaloo?

  • Rich does not equal to perfect.

  • I feel like Im playing I Spy.. so theres a guy here who was also in the Birmingham and Helsinki choirs? The husband in the couple who organized this whole shebang?

  • I think you're right.

  • For the most part, the lyrics have a good sense of humor. Singaporeans speak very fast and understand this song, but not me. I wish this song is interspersed with more short gaps with a slower melody. Way too much acronyms used here, perhaps a satire on their local habit. Mostly one-liners for every gripe, which only locals can understand. In a small island with few places for recreation, what else to do besides rant and complain - better than being dazed on drugs.

  • its not true.. we have a lot of places for recreation unlike other countries though we do not have much space, we enjoy ourselves at many place on the island..

  • @juinnano yea there are quite a few places for recreation in singapore. I actually had a lot of fun. Though too many malls!!! I have never seen 5 malls in one area all of which connects to an underground mall. XD Summer year round though I won't complain about my visit in spore. I escaped the harsh winter that was ravaging through Japan at the time XD

  • @merlintalk really? it was quite easy fo rme to understand but I only stayed in singapore for a week. XD Also if you get caught with drug possession you get the death penalty in spore... But Singapore is cool place if you get use to having no democracy. Its orderly etc, but it is a rat race society. More so than America is. Especially when you have Americans telling college grads to take up blue collar jobs XD. F that and work in Singapore :P or maybe Dubai is a bit better.

  • @lordblazer Nope, Drug possession wont get you a death penalty. Only Drug Trafficking. Malaysia is where both drug possession and drug trafficking will give you a death penalty

  • @mace197

interesting... Singapore is still a "Fine" city

  • Comment removed

  • Singaporeans complain a lot. And that's what we are.

  • HAHAHAH THIS IS SO CUTE!

  • why they still need to complaints...i thought singaporeans are satisfied with wat government gave them~

    btw the melody is nice~

  • @isis10199 No One Is Ever Perfect. Our government may be one of the best governments in the world but remember. Singapore is a "Fine" city

  • @mace197

500 for spitting, 1000 if you bring a durian on the MRT XD

  • @lordblazer not correct , durian fine is not mentioned on the wall in the MRT. It does say no Durians but fine only for eating, smoking and flammable gases

  • As a Canadian, I say that some of you Singaporeans are grossly unappreciative of your blessings of a government making the most of such a small island and limited resources. I wish my government were like that of Singapore. Thanks to Singapore's government, it is very physically attractive with world renowned order, cleanliness and pleasantness.

  • if u stay in singapore for long, you would complain as well.

  • Yet your government is the best in the world--a fact that may not be saying very much given how easy is to be better than awful like our wasteful, incompetent, unjust governments in the West. Your government, though, is far from perfect when it turns a blind eye to the illicit 'flesh trade' and prostitution in Singapore, among other unacceptable acts.

  • @RussianPunch if you stay in Singapore you will complain. Its the same with every place on this planet. There are its up sides and there are its pitfalls. I use to live in Japan. Great country to live in. If I stayed there with PR status my life expectancy increases by 20 yrs. MY health improved only within a yr of living there. But I can complain about it and trust me there is a lot to complain. Especially about Tokyo... in fact the tokyo group didn't touch half the issues XD

  • I have already criticized the Singapore government for its inexcusable moral bankruptcy on such issues as the illicit 'flesh trade' and prostitution.

  • @RussianPunch cool better start getting on Germany, Denmark, and The Netherland's nuts over those things then...

  • Since there is even more wrong with those counties you mentioned, I focus on Singapore since it is the least morally corrupt government in the world and at least theoretically should be easier to correct.

  • @RussianPunch try eating outside the Banan Leaf in tajong pagar, under the gleaming skyscrapers rats and cockroaces the size of small dogs

  • we purify our urine is because we dont have limited water resources and not recycling water is not the main reason.

having cranes around in sg shows our rapid development and we should not generalise the whole sg community just because of some black sheeps.

  • **

we purify our urine is because we HAVE limited water SUPPLY and recycling water is not the main reason.

  • @muddyhippo31 yea new water... But its in limited use and Singapore gets more of its fresh water from Malaysia still I believe..

  • cool sey <3

  • this is excellent, i laughed all the way through it. well done for creating the song.

  • We don't recycle plastic bags. But we purify our pee. Yeah, cos purified pee tastes best!

  • My oh my Singapore! Why we complain so much for? If you're not the best than you are one of the rest!

  • i luv the song..LoL...and the piano...ahaha

    ...LoL at 8:00

  • Wonder why they never include this line "Singaporeans complain too much"

SINGAPOREANS! Forever complaining and complaining about everything. never satisfied.

And I believe none of them would dare say they didn't commit any of the 'offences' they sang there, and neither would any of you. So unless you Singaporeans change ur own ways, stop complaining about others!

  • hypocrite.

  • i saw a friend! woohoo!

  • Hahas. My ex-relief teacher is in there.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I would TOTALLY volunteer to sing!

  • You're a 5 year old? WOW! i'm a new born!!

  • hence you're only a 5-year-old with immature thinking. Not that I'm being patronistic to the country, but seemingly, all you are able to see is the superficial problems with Singapore and the 'Wonderful' side of China&America.

  • Totally agree! I'm with you!

  • @gallantio

yea, I don't think this guy knows the life of an average singaporean.. Everyone is stressed all of the time like in any big developed city.. America is no different. Except I think America is a bit worse as there is little social safety net, and corporate crimes go nearly unpunished. politicians openly want to keep this going and say "why shiould they be held accountable" yet morons from the rural areas vote these idiots in.. singapore does sound better right about now :P boon lay

  • @gallantio

singapore doesn't have the problems that the US and China has.... Mainly singapore doesn't have a large percentage of its population undereducated and illiterate. I dunno I think Singapore is a fine country, but yea it has its problems, but no place is perfect.... though singapore has summer year round :D I likey

  • i dun get the 'bachelor's degree' part. sounds like they didn't know how to finish the rap. totally out of place..

other than that, that was very enjoyable and many more ppl would have volunteered to sing if it was more aggressively promoted. thumbs uP!~

  • I think the 'bachelor's degree' part means that she wishes her bf is not 'kiasu' like the others , wanting to get a bachelor's degree just because of egotism ('kiasu' again)

  • The part on bachelor's degree is about singlehood...

  • great stuff guys.. good effort... great sense of humor..

  • You're welcome. It's my pleasure to give you a thumbs down. In fact, I don't mind giving you 10 of those! (: I'm a Singaporean. And we're kind!

  • without the subtitles, i have no idea what the hell they are singing exactly

  • With respect to the lyrics, I would agree that the song is a little bit too complicated for a choir, but it should not be a "shame".

  • I pretty much enjoyed this all the way. Why? They are all what Singaporeans are doing. Yes, we do see these in other countries. So why not, we take the initiative and be different from other countries?

  • lols

  • is 9 minutes plus to create a Singapore Complaints Choir... Let's guess how long the Malaysian Complaints Choir would be...? haiz... Malaysia BOLEH!? Give me some boleh-ness before i decided to become a Singaporean! Love your country Singaporeans... why? because I don't & i can't.. sadly to say... :(

  • i think the song is silly, be grateful to our country.we are so much better than other countires.

  • some powderful words...can irrate a few pple but who cares........gd job esp having a few races working together to get this choir going...well done!!!.

  • think about it this way: to singaporeans; you have a weird accent.

  • boring..everyone know abt this.. many country worst than singapore..be grateful of what u have people..look ard the neighbouring country and if u can tell me they better than singapore then..move out..

  • why compare with the worse? compare with the better ones and see what we can improve on..

  • i think its fine to have a complaint choir. but some of the things are plain common?! like all around the world?! sleeping on trains? spitting in the pool? man, everywhere u go, u get these...

  • dont quite get it why the govt wants to ban this song when most of us sgporeans understand and already know all these stuff. By banning this, more people are going to want to see this clip.

    Silly choice, govt.

  • this is nice and funny !

  • This is best la. speaks so much about singaporeans, and the video is funny too !

  • o.0

    That was taken last year?

    i didn't even notice?

I'll understand this song when i do my 'O' or 'N' or 'A' Level

  • Lol this song is really too gay. IMO

  • 每个国家都有属于他们自己的文化,长处,短处,要先批评别人,不如先批评自己,先问问你自己有做到最好吗?

  • This impresses and pleasantly surprises me than anything else on this island combined. As Fredrick Douglass said "Agitate, agitate, agitate!" But again as

that former slave who stole his own limbs said, "but my rapture is soon checked when I remember that all is cursed with" the fact that this clip is "officially" banned in Singapore.

  • lol chill guy it's just a song with complains thats all government can pretend not to see if they do not want but why stop the rest from enjoying it? and it goes to people who hate what the choir sing, DUN VIEW! nobody force you too view.... btw if u guys who are unhappy with the complain take a look at other country complain song and look at were there are singing it? i dun understand what is it that make u guys hate it? just enjoy! lol

  • i like the way Singapore is...the only thing i don't like was the "kiasu" thing.hehehe no offense... for this choir, as human rights they can voice out..whats wrong is, if the government won't let their people speak what they feel... imprisonment is not the solution...

  • what we we gearing up for. HDB flats are being to expensive for people to buy. especially those who are just starting up their career and their family. I have an in-law who is a norwegian he moved back there because he say in SGP he in not paid what he is worth. they are many things that has to be corrected. But when people take action they end up in jail. how to make things right that way. This is not democracy!!!! This is meritocracy!!!!!!
