Alright, there's multiple reasons why he'd have both acoustic electronic. He has both, go look at more of his videos.

First, the electric pads are quiet, you can connect them to any speakers or just plug in your headphones and play. I have an electric kit because I live in a condo. My neighbor would be pissed if I played loudass acoustic kits every day.

Acoustic kits are better if you're looking to record because they're the real thing and electric drums haven't reached that level yet.

People need to stop criticizing electric drums, the sound quality is endless with triggered drums. It just depends on what sound simulator, or drum brain your using.

Electric drums are inferior to Acoustic. Acoustic will always be better.
