DO NOT DO THIS. This is a huge fire hazard. These fan motors are designed for a certain amount of resistance. The extra resistance from the filter can cause the motor to over heat and start a fire. This is a horrible idea and this guy should be ashamed of himself.
I'm not trying to be a smartass, but wouldn't putting the fan in an open window and blowing the air outside be just as effective? You wouldn't need to usee filters.
@mraybeck If you were in the country and the temperature was OK and pollen levels were low ..yes . its very hot here I'm on a busy road pollen and mold spores levels are high so that is not an option. thanks for watching and your comment.
@LinuxUser269 And if you were in the country ( we're in a small town in Australia...) you'd realise how much dirt, dust, muck and crap is in the air pretty much worldwide. Country air is sure not clean! It just has a few different smells and probably lots more "stuff" floating in it.
This filter system is a great idea really. Idealy you might be better to have some filtered air exchanging with an acre of growing garden, but this should keep the air circulating and while being filtered.
Try vacuuming your pleated filter with a crevice tool attachment. It will extend the life of the filter. Do it often for better flow. Save money. Do it outside unless you have a HEPA vacuum.
@number1zelllefan If you saw how much was caught in the filter you would understand . the dust on the front is because it draws some air form the front
I bought the camera while on vacation in Colorado. It is a pure digital point n shoot camera that takes 30 min. of video. At the time it was on sale for $89 .
I don't think I said I was poor, although it feels that way.
I am thrifty and look for bargains where ever I can. Hence two filters for the price of one.

Will it help with weed smell?

have you found that this eliminates odor? If not, i'm sure it's just a matter of choosing the right filter. good, simple design!

How is the air flow though the fan? Is it reasonable? Or does barely any air flow through at all?

thanks for the video; you sound a lot like comedian/writer H.Jon Benjamin (of Archer, Bob's Burgers, Family Guy, and Jon Benjamin Has a Van)

@mraybeck this will pull new air in. Have to consider what effect that will have, like increasing heading cost or bringing in more pollutants

Just keep a close eye on it. Thoes fans are known for buring out.

That box fan is very cheap and flimsy unlike vintage fans. If you have an accendent with it the whole thing will break.
Astromchaser 1 year ago
@Astromchaser well i have had the fan for more than two years and have had no problems and running constantly .

@Astromchaser Why do you post this on every box fan air filter video? Do you work for an air purifier company?

how effective is it filtering dust from behind when their is dust in front of the fan?
