Wow. What an amazing song. For years I thought the Circle Jerks wrote this song and it was one of my favorites. This version is just much more amazing (although the Jerks really did a great homage).

Great video that brings the essence of New York. Yeah, it sounds like the best song the Rolling Stones never recorded! The album (Ghostwriter) it came from is very, very good, with a lot of different styles, great musicianship, and top notch songwriting by Garland Jeffreys. My other favorites from that album are Why-O, Spanish Town, and New York Skyline.

This all-time fabulon was covered by one of the mega-great punk bands, the Circle Jerks. Later, the ultimate in non-talent, the superb trickster, Bon Jovi, slimed something with the same title. Rock'n'Roll could not have done without Garland's WITS.

Bon Jovi, the rancid anchovee (sorry, fish), did its best to ruin the anthemic value.

However his Wild In The Streets is a completely different song.

Helix & WASP also have songs with this title

The title is one of those titles that is popular.

Think of the title "This Time"..Bryan Adams, Tracy Chapman, Starsailor, John Legend.

Anyhow this Wild In The Streets is an absolute classic.

As far as the video goes it is amazing.

This is why MTV was initially created.
