This game looks awesome! and yes, it is going to be free, visit lotro.com for more information. But I really need to know a couple of things from old LotRO players:

- Does the game have open world? or is it like DDO (Dungeons and Dragons)?

- Is there a PK system in game? I mean like turn the pk on and kill people around instead of PvP.

- Does the game have Castle Siege and/or massive PvP Arenas?

- About the gameplay, do you point and click to attack? Or is it like DDO, click to attack?

1- Yes its open world.

2- Nope. they only way to kill other players is invtie them to spar, or go to the Ettenmoors...Lotro's PvP place. Its an open region where you can play as Sauron's forces or the Free peoples and fight in raids or small groups, etc.

3- Yes. You can fight over Outposts/"castles" in the Ettenmoors.

4. No click to attack.

Is it true they are working on a better pvp system? Would be nice...the only thing people complain about this game is the PvP system...But all in all, wonderful/beautiful graphics, nice selection of classes, hopefully when its f2p...they keep up with the work :).

IF this did have a better PvP system..it would blow WoW out! it already does but yeah :).

Would be nice to have a clan and have other clans fight maybe? :D lol.

your suggenstions are really stupid.. first of all not every one got a good enough computer to play on the best graphics... second of all you have any idea how it would effect the server speed? and things growing? its a massive amount of extra data when you take it all from a high number of players, which will make the game lag and this is the last thing you want to do..

After having played this MMO at first, I felt a bit tricked. I mean, not that it's not nice and all, but the shire just feels a bit empty in my opinion. When I think of the shire I would love to see hobbits raising crops and chit chatting to their neighbors. They have done some part in that, I must admit, but it still feels as if something is missing. Especially the unique character. Almost each and every hobbit looks the same.. persons such as lobalia should look diffrent from others.....

This game rocks, its based pretty much as wow, you quest, you can pvp in "Monster Play" But I we been playing wow for a year and I can tell you, this is much better the graphic itself is great and there is a Main Story Line, which wow doesnt have, so if you like advanture, this game is for you.

While WoW does indeed have a main story line it has felt like a bit of a letdown for those of us who have loved the lore of Warcraft. Up until WOTLK it felt like a second rate storyline and even now feels shoddy at best. While I love WoW and can see myself playing it for years to come, I have to agree that the main story arch of LOTR: Online is much better (plus considering the source material it makes sense that it would be better).

Unfortunely, there is. BUT it is worth it. It's $14.99 monthly, or life-time (never pay again) $299. However, on special occasions such as the game's Anniversary, the life-time should be dropped down to $199.

I was funny about the whole payment thing too, though lucky I played LOTRO in Open Beta first. I there found out it was worth the money when it went Live. =)

Though I'm sure you could find a server where you would fit in. The player base is extremely friendly in this game, and a question on the forums should point you in the right direction while you wait for the long game download!
