GTA 4 On Acer Aspire 8930g

@MrDragonmaster30 Not sure what you mean, but you need a fast processor a good graphics card and plenty of RAM memory. I know some else on You Tube runs the game on Windows XP, my Laptop is still on Vista even though I have the upgrade disk for windows 7. As my Laptop has not had any problems I am waiting to change the system OS. I believe in the saying if it's not broke don't fix it.

It actually works, but not in full hd and very low graphics...

@derkleineboss I have mine on 1024 x 768 and not everything is pushed high, but at the level I had it set it seems alright. I did post a follow up video with my settings displayed at the beginning and end of the video. But I am glad it's working for you now.

My 8930g dual core cant run gta iv even on 800x600 on lowest settings o.O

@derkleineboss Not sure why that is, I have a friend also with the 8930g but his is a slightly lower spec than mine and he has to run it it's lowest settings. However his still runs ok, make aure yours is set to high performance.

@derkleineboss I'm not sure but I know there were a few updates released due to problems with the game on most people computers. See if any of the updates will help you.

@derkleineboss install Windows 7 64 bit's worke for me . i one my self this one Two cam whit vista home 32Bit's gta IV dont work well on vista . now i install windows 7 its works fine

@Galirouslan I have now put in an extra hard-drive which will run Windows 7, but as I want to duel boot my laptop I am working on a way to do this. I have had the upgrade discs for a year now, but as I have never had a problem with Vista, it wasn't that important to me to change.

@waddlerobloxxxx No thankfully I didn't get the Blue Screen Of Death on my Laptop, although I do know of people who seemed to get lots of problems with Vista. I will change to 7 soon but I have an old saying thats fits this point "If it's not broke don't fix it".

I run it with 1280x720 and all on medium, and it runs okay, but not smooth.. And i have just found out you can't put a new processor into thi computer :(

Have you tried looking at the NVidia control panel and turning some setting off.

Right click on your desktop and go to peresonalization, then go to display settings, then go to advanced setting then click Geforce 9700GT. Then go to Start the NVidia control panel, then click program settings look for GTA4 and have a look at the settings.

No I had the resolution at 1024x768, and medium settings. And I just checked my Nvidia control panel and checked its setting for GTA 4 and I have turned off alot of the features in there for GTA 4. Although it recomends them on I chose not to turn them and the game seems to run okay.

I am not sure why it lags for you, all I can say is check that there is nothing running in the background. When I first tried this I found that Realplayer was using 50% of my processing power even though I closed realplayer down before playing the game. Hope this helps Andykyle1409

I'm on an acer aspire 1 now, how'd you get the game on, did you have an external disk drive?

This is the Acer Aspire 8930g which has a built in Blu-ray drive, I presume you have a net-book and I'm pretty sure it will not run GTA4. My wife has an LG x110 net book, and that just about runs Far-cry, Gta3, Gta Vicecity and a couple of Rally games at the lowest resolutions and details but not a chance with GTA4.

Not sure what you mean, this is the Acer Aspire 8930g - 864g32bw , this laptop has a 512Mb NVidia graphics Card, 4Gb of Ram.
